This interview was entirely about the art of journalism. It explained that industry from several different angles. Respecting those that open doors for you. Understanding your responsibility as a journalist and also the weight that comes with having the opportunity to speak to an entire nation through your platform. Incredible interview.

Shannon watched his brother lay paralyzed on the field, get up and jog away minutes later, then found out later that year that his brother's injury was worse than expected and that his career was now over. So Shannon was deeply hurt by what Skip said both on Twitter and on the air by not accepting responsibility.

Not gonna lie, i get why Shannon could feel some kinda way if he interpreted skips tweet as trivializing the injury…but let’s be honest, this rift between Shannon and Skip been building up for some time. Shannon for the most part has kept his cool knowing it’s Skips show… but you and I know damn well if it wasn’t for the cameras and repercussions Skips mouth would have gotten his a** beat on more than one occasion. This incident was the straw that broke the camels back… or better yet, the perfect opportunity for Shannon to show his frustration with Skip and come out looking like the good guy. One could say Shannon saw the opportunity and has capitalized on it.

    • @chikowashere

Shannon didn't speak to Skip about it, and when it was addressed on the air, instead of explaining himself Skip simply doubled down. So now everyone's feeling justified in thinking the worst of Skip.

Because of the level of uncertainty about his health, ultimately I think thats why the players couldn't focus & keep playing. skip bayless disrespecting Shannon Sharpe, the on-air discussion showed that something was behind the scenes when Sharpe tried to help Skip not bring up the horrid tweet n response from Bayless. And then FS1 tried to push through the show. Because Shannon didn't show up for work , there was already conflict, the argument is that SKip has a history of being disrespectful. Its now whether the Undisputed show continues. hmm hmm

Do you really think for ONE SECOND it's an accident that their paired a talented Black NFL Football Hall of FAMER, with a scrawny never-played- sports above the high school level White guy together? This entire show is predicted on lively, and at time disrespect banter between these two POLAR OPPOSITES? No accidents here....
The SKIP and SHANNON Show ratings were poor until this latest "disrespect " show and GUESS WHAT?? The VIEWERS AND THE MEDIA ATTENTION just spiked with the RATINGS!!
Guess the money men know what they are doing, eh??

      1. Disrespecting Shannon Sharpe?
Skip told Shannon, he thought he was jealous of Brady because Brady played longer. What the f**k are you talking about?
      2. Skips Damar tweet said: He's praying for Damar. And Damars life is more important than the game of football.
Skip went on to say: That game decides the fates and seeding of the conference. He wasn't sure what the NFL would do if they did not continue the game.
?????? What's controversial? You're simply looking for reasons to be upset.

The game happened. Monday night, Tuesday the Skip did an apology on air by himself, Shannon brought it back up, on Wednesday. Skip issued an apology on Monday, he doubled down on not taking the tweet down. But on Monday he apologized for how his tweets were misconstrued. And context of all his TWEETS.. the first tweet skip released was prayers for the family and Demar. I am tired of people not giving proper context to the whole situation, and how it played out. Because it fits the narrative that was put out.

I so appreciate what you’re saying. Former/current players accept injury/impact to the body comes with the sport. A non player wouldn’t see it the same way, so that’s part of the backlash. Also “hot takes” are faster than in the past; no cooling off before talking = disaster
