Can you TELL that I've been working on this video for a while? There's a lot of old footage and assets used in it! (best example is the old Sol's RNG thumbnail at the beginning of the video) By the way, the song at 1:21 is a song from ULTRAKILL called "Deep Blue" (I got way too many comments asking about it) (also, it's a version ripped straight from the game files and not the original soundtrack). I get why there might be confusion regarding what it is, but it appears at the beginning of the video in the bottom left corner at 0:08 and it doesn't change, so that means it's the same song. Also, if you like any song that I use in the video, find out where it starts playing in the video and somewhere around that time period you will see a pop-up in the bottom left corner telling you what it's called and where it's from.

2015 Roblox player here. what honestly killed Roblox for the games was the moderation back around 2020. They starting going downhill and made some stupid choices on Roblox that probably are even still on until today. Roblox does not give a crap about itself anymore. Looking at the front page you can find games that have the most active Player base and most microtransactions ever. and the underrated games that you are talking about don't get much shine to them because Roblox's algorithm consists of just games that have gambling and transactions and maybe rewards for the player to stay in to get profit off of. Roblox had become such a greedy company that they didn't even wanna pay money to own the OOF sound effect. It's depressing to see Roblox not care for itself anymore and that they were gonna "Improve" their moderation. most games you find on Roblox most likely does not care about it, they just solely in it for the money. But there are some actual good games on Roblox up until today. But even if still, most of the games on there are just there solely there for the purpose of getting profit from it. I'm pretty sure they're a publicly traded company now, so the company is legally obligated to optimize for profit. There's no coming back from that, as long as people (aka kids) are willing to reward these awful practices.
As a player from 2010, the only thing that's making me stay is nostalgia and the few not well known games like Aeronautica or pwned. The admins are awfull, the compagny is awfull, the cash grabs are awfull , etc. So many problems, scripting on roblox is also not motivating or interesting, I quickly lost interest when I tried and dipped to another scripting platform.

I am learning how to script and I know very few mechanics, it is fun (kinda) but it is HARD Many people have AMAZING game ideas but the scripting the scrapes the fun and easyness If Roblox had a simple code system that was slightly complicated but easy to learn like scratch it would be much better 80% of scratch games are actually good, some are even 3d! I think a curator tab / role on roblox would be interesting. Where individual user can curate their favourite games, and other's can follow their lists.
The most difficult part of making a game on Roblox now is even getting a playerbase. A Dev's motivation on a game gets instantly killed when the game they worked on for countless hours, days or years just doesn't get any plays at all. The dev either has to spend money to advertise it (which they most likely don't have), or have an existing audience to show their game off in. Like TH-cam. And I too despise the discover tab. I miss the days where we could search games based off of category and not see the exact same 20 games a thousand times. I made a video on it aswell.

Also Roblox has been very ethically questionable lately with their lazy moderation mixed with their sponsorsed content. I have seen a lot of "Diddy" and "Eptein" games in the promoted section ☠️, but if you upload a clothing decal that is not even innapropiate but that they won't like, they will strike your account.
Been working on my game for over 2 years, it's become a massive solo project, it's still going to be long-term in dev because I love everything about developing. However it still gets 0 searches despite having decent stats. It is sad though and agree with everything you said. There is so many good games out there that get no recognition

For my four six years of playing Roblox and making friends and making arts in the platform, the only thing I consistently play right now is just Arcane Odyssey and Entry Point/Operators to some extent. Many of your points makes me remember what many of my friends who played Roblox said too. Which is most of the time just remaking games on steam

9:25 okay. Ultrakill is an indie game developed by Arsi Hakita Patala and despite not even being finished, it has more potential than 100 games in the roblox front page COMBINED. Just imagine how good the game will be when layer 8, layer 9 and P-3 come out. My point is that roblox games do indeed need to think of creative ideas and turn them into: 1. Fun and engaging gameplay (for good playtime) 2. Good marketing (for gaining players) Those 2 things alone can create a successful and fun game with infinite replay ability like doors. Oh yeah, I should mention some steam games people could take inspiration from to make DECENT games. 1.imscared 2.faith 3.last train outta worm town 4.team fortress 2 5.oh deer! (idk I'm out of ideas) These games are fun to play and have replay ability (except Imscared lol) and some are even fun to play with friends! If you wanna try them out, they're on steam but I think only Team Fortress 2 is free. If you got spare money tho, you won't regret it.

It's very compatable with even my potato computer wich Somehow runs ultrakill. The graphics are low, but still good 👍 (I'm just talking random things i find in my mind BTW)
Stupid thing abt sol’s is, their auras are doodoo. Theres a ton of hame with way better visuals and auras. Theres star glitcher just sitting there for example, one of the older games (albeit its gotten a ton of remixes now, finding the og is neigh impossible) but their visuals are still better somehow.

I'm someone who started playing Roblox since 2008 and it used to be one of my absolute favorite places to be in, but when 2018 came around, I just decided to completely drop it. It was becoming less of the Roblox I fell in love with, instead becoming more corporate and lost its unique, fun identity. Creativity is almost entirely non-existent on the platform, and as you pointed out, a lot are usually just copy paste games because it's a trend that makes money rather than someone who is passionately creative. Roblox wants to be taken seriously as a game platform obviously, but it's really hard to when the majority of the promoted games are complete, utter slop that's made to pander to the younger audience. Maybe if Roblox promoted truly fantastic games and kept the trash away from piling on their front yard like I've been witnessing, then public opinion outside wouldn't see it in the way they do now. I unfortunately don't see things getting any better though, I only see it getting worse whenever I peek back at it just to see what's going on.
Quick thing for everyone, a few fun games/"experiences" (if you're a nerd) Robot 64 - an actual fire game based off of Mario 64 but it's got great movement options and it's just generally really fun. It also has a great community with tons of mods made around it. Prequel coming later this year too! Untitled tag game - Simple but fun, really well polished aswell! I played it for a few minutes and fell in love with it. Better with friends too! Plates Of Fate / Horrific Housing - Great game(s) with random events and you try to survive for the longest time to win. Plates Of Fate has some cool badges, but there are a bit of flaws regarding the actual gambling machines. Oh yeah. The weirdos in the community. Horrific Housing is like plates of fate but without those flaws, with the added issue of it not being as diverse. I might update this list if I find more actually good games with tons of effort in them. Check out the replies too, they have amazing recommendations!
Another one i'd reccomend playjng is Item asylum - A randomizer meme fighting game,pretty fun and has a ton of references and stuff,can't write a comprehensive description cuz uh I suck at writing a comprehensive description of anything
Bloxston Mystery, A Town of Salem inspired game where you can actually hide in your house and be able to survive if someone attacks you (if you are good at running and juking) and they actually make original roles nowadays :> Plus it has good cutscenes like it's clean and cool to look at!
A good game I recommend is "Guts & Blackpower", Its a napoleon war inspired game but instead of fighting off other players, you work together to fend against the undead hordes and survive/escape theres 3 game modes 1. Endless (like 6-8 maps) Pretty self explanatory, its a COD zombies styled mode where theres waves of zombies until everyone dies 2. Objective (5 maps) Each map has a unique factor (at this moment) and theres objectives to slowly push you towards the end of the map where you will fight off a giant horde before escaping/surviving 3. Holdout (1 map) This is the newest gamemode where its a mix of the other two, Theres a relatively challenging but simple objective to complete but while this is happening, waves of zombies attack you with a short pause between waves Theres also several different classes of soldier with their contribution to the team and a shop to purchase and create a more unique loadout for each class. The game is super well polished with different uniforms for different regiments, Voice acting, Well made maps, and a more unique zombie system that reminds me of the zombies in Project: Zomboid As well as several badges (ranging in difficulty) to complete (with a few secret ones)
I'm really into guts and blackpowder because the game honestly grew on me, it's animations are smooth (especially since the recent update), the game isn't all micro-transactions (there are some but they don't give advantages only different clothing options to chose from and different accessories), and the designs for some of the player outfits, enemies, and maps are all based off of real life things/locations. Although it's not a low player count game it's a genuine blast to play and it's genuinely cared for by the developers with updates every now and again showing they're committed.
Sol's RNG is my enemy. My little brother whos 13 plays it 24/7. He doesnt play any other game with me anymore... I Miss those times. I always ask myself how the hell that game is exciting to him.
I play it sometimes and i still have bonds with my family and its still strong. Maybe its not the game who has the issue, but your little brother rather (btw, this does not apply to everyone)

My current favourite game is Risk Universalis. It's a game where you rp as a country with paint on a map. It supports realistic, custom, heck even personal maps with 3D buildings, but it struggles to get over 600 active player. I have found it just because a person I randomly friended was playing it casually.
8:51 there was a game called "robot 64" got banned from it because it contained "Lootboxes" like the game only has like a dlc which costs only like 2 dollars.
Decaying Winter, Guts & Blackpowder, Entry Point and Hellmet is what i personally main nowdays. And man, i'm not that old in the community (2019), but i miss some games at their "Golden peak ages" as, The Vibe Cafe, After The Flash: Mirage, Zach's Service Station, Armored Patrol. I also hope they gonna do something about those South-America servers, it's been annoying, to say at the least, having to be playing up to 200-400 Ping. (hell, even australia had one if i'm correct.)
A tip on finding good roblox games is searching things like alpha, demo or beta, but that does makes some good games to not show and some of the games you will find is bad
I originally had interest in a Roblox project, working on a Metal Gear Solid V style RPG with story elements and the highest historical accuracy possible. Due to Roblox being full of 'games' that are hardly games in my eyes, or not games at all (rng shit), me and my friends split apart from wanting to work on games. Recently we got back into working on games, and this video, somehow gave me inspiration to go work on arms research and historical stuff for the game. Thanks lol. Great vid.
As much as people or developers can get mad at sol's rng for being so popular, you still gotta give credit to the fact they have mentally manipulated the player with a basic, free to play experience with no gameplay for him and thousands of others to play it for hours, making the devs a ton of cash without actually making the player spend money I do not hate nor defend anyone here, im just giving my opinion.

i started playing roblox in end of 2016, so i cant really say anything considering i was pretty late to the nostalgia party but i do know that, yes, quality has gone down, wether its quality in the playerbase (by that i mean how nice people are or how toxic they are) considering a huge chunk of the playerbase will go out their way to insult you and even bypass chat just to try and prove a point that they're "superior" but also, game wise and its been the case since simulator games have popped up, and those we're actual gambling slop that could sometimes make kids spend hundreds of dollars worth of robux, just for some colorful pet that they'd stop using not even 2 days later either cause they stopped playing or cause they got better ones in itself, sol rng, an exemple you gave, isnt all that bad, theres worse out there, the appeal of the game being you can get nice auras by just, afking, where most games force you to play for days if not weeks to get nice things you want now i know this sounds stupid considering the game is pure rng so you might never get what you want but i think you get my point of "this is slop, yes, but theres worse" and as long as the sol devs dont go down the greedy rabbit hole, the game might just stay how it is and also, im also on you with the brookhaven thing why the fuck do rp games get so many god damn players, i see the appeal of being able to become anything you like, due to the avatar editor, but theres like, 100+ games who have that and are better
I'm in a similar boat. I started playing in 2017, and I have even noticed the dip in ROBLOX's quality. When I first started playing, the games of the front page were more or less good. Game like jailbreak, or Murder Mystery 2. Now all of that has gone down the drain in favor of RNG simulator, or skibidi toilet defense.
Its true that most popular games are kinda bad and aimed towards young children nowadays, but I personally don't think that Roblox (the company) has changed much. They never really cared about the games in the first place and just provided a platform for them. They've always just been a background actor ever since it started getting popular, which it has been for maybe 10 years now. It's just gotten more and more popular over the years. There are still a lot of gems and really good games on the platform, you really just gotta find them. Most of them have between 100 and 1500 players tho, which you gotta keep in mind. My general rule of thumb is that a game is active when it has over 100 concurrent players during all times of the day. Like that, you have a lot of niche games you can play. But if you only look for games with 1k or more players, trust me, it's hard to find many passion projectsand actually nice games. Most of the passion projects have less than 1k players. Really only one games that I play regularly even reaches 1000 players sometimes. All I can say is look hard enough and eventually you'll find a gem.
There is a lot of really good games on the platform, for example my deepwoken, rouge lineage, juke's towers of hell, parasite, decaying winter, derelict, etc. Most of listed games provide unique experience that (from what i know) dont copy any ideas. But what i know for a fact, is that u need to search these type of games in the piles of trash, which is quite sad to think of
Here is a great game I would recommend to play, although it's quite hard to get into: Juke's Towers of Hell is a roblox obby game revolving around "towers" that are usually up to 1000 studs tall with varying gameplay. There are different types of towers, lots of creativity and up to 300+ towers in the game currently. I find that the issue with this game is that the quality gets better as you play more, but in order to get to the higher quality obbies you need to be insanely good at obbies in order to do so. There is so much to do in this game and I would highly recommend trying it out if you would like to give obbies a try. If daiorg sees this comment and makes a video on it that would be amazing!! For anyone that does want to try this obby game, have fun playing it.
Okay, real quick, if you want an actual decent game, Decaying Winter. It's punishing to learn but once you get used to the mechanics I find it pretty fun, It's a roguelike game where you go out, gather loot, and then head back to base before the storm arrives. Once the storm arrives, turrets guarding your base will de-activate, and a hoard of scavengers will then charge your base, attacking you and your comrades, each night being harder than the last. So far there's just two endings but the game is still being updated to this day so new stuff will be added in the future.
as a veteran of a certain level in decaying winter the game was stagnant for quite some years, but now its now up and running back into development phase! bug fixes, sneek peeks of new content whether it'd be maps or perks to come. try it as currently the penalty for dying has been more lenient and it should be a perfect opportunity to attempt that game
Normally for things like “the old version of [x] was better!” I’d say that their just blinded by nostalgia, but for Roblox I would say I agree (kind of, mainly because PHIGHTING never existed back then :PPPP )

Sol’s RNG reminds me of this game on steam where you roll a chance to get a banana model wrapped with a unique texture that you can trade with other players for sometimes real money. It’s all a bloat of crapware. Sol’s rng should be seen as a huge point being made about how children have developed a gambling disorder.
Someone near me said that roblox sold their souls to the devil and its showing with how they continue to grow with as little effort as possible in keeping its younger playerbase safe from grooming
As someone who grew up watching roblox videos and who plays sol's rng, I gotta say that it's hard finding a game thats actually fun, just games who waste your time and that get boring after 10 minutes. And whenever I find an actual fun game, it has like 500 current players! This just shows how Roblox doesn't even care about what games are on the front page, "as long as it generates a bunch of money, it goes on the front page!". Like, the only reason I play sol's rng is because I can do nothing and get to show others the cool stuff I got! Roblox genuenly has to show actual good games in the front page and stop promoting bad games that pay or generate a bunch of money.

Arcane odyssey was a game about a world of magic and It is part of a game series called the “Arcane Series”that belongs to vtex games and upon its release in 2023 had over 70k players daily. After a few months the player count slowly but surely dropped down to 1k and after the Nimbus sea update they were able to reach 10k+ players. The story is great, The difficulty is no cakewalk, it has the stat points system which is pretty important and determines what build you will have and what special ability you will have near the end of the unfinished story still actively being worked on by vtex and his team. If you wanna know more about the game I can promise you it is worth checking out.

When people say they miss old/classic roblox, sometimes they do miss being happy, but it gets to such a level that you actually miss an old roblox with decent game recommendations that aren't cashgrabs like "skibidi into jax fun obby". I've been playing since 2017 and found many great underrated games along the way, examples: 1. Oaklands 2. Juke's Towers of Hell 3. Roblox BRICKBATTLER 4. Tower World 5. Regretevator (A new take on those fun elevator games from mid 2010's) 6. The Battle Bricks 7. Parkour 8. Super Doomspire 9. Pilgrammed It's sad that there aren't as many high quality games now, as making a simple colorful and probably dopamine-generating game has been shown to profit more, unfortunately. I felt the same way about roblox back in 2020, until I found adopt me, it has a huge community, with basically endless potential you can do, make megas, make neons, don't like the grind? you can trade instead, don't like that either? you can build houses with endless potential, and if you don't like that either you can just socialize with your friends and have fun trying out all the features, its one of the best games I've ever played and it sucks how people say that the game Is bad because they don't know how to navigate through it.
Every time someone asks me to make more Roblox videos, I take that as an insult. What is there to go back to? The Roblox I knew and loved is long dead. And so is my account. (gonna just paste this here from a reply i made to a comment) A good game I recommend is "Guts & Blackpower", Its a napoleon war inspired game but instead of fighting off other players, you work together to fend against the undead hordes and survive/escape theres 3 game modes 1. Endless (like 6-8 maps) Pretty self explanatory, its a COD zombies styled mode where theres waves of zombies until everyone dies 2. Objective (5 maps) Each map has a unique factor (at this moment) and theres objectives to slowly push you towards the end of the map where you will fight off a giant horde before escaping/surviving 3. Holdout (1 map) This is the newest gamemode where its a mix of the other two, Theres a relatively challenging but simple objective to complete but while this is happening, waves of zombies attack you with a short pause between waves Theres also several different classes of soldier with their contribution to the team and a shop to purchase and create a more unique loadout for each class. The game is super well polished with different uniforms for different regiments, Voice acting, Well made maps, and a more unique zombie system that reminds me of the zombies in Project: Zomboid As well as several badges (ranging in difficulty) to complete (with a few secret ones)

I get why there might be confusion regarding what it is, but it appears at the beginning of the video in the bottom left corner at 0:08 and it doesn't change, so that means it's the same song. Also, if you like any song that I use in the video, find out where it starts playing in the video and somewhere around that time period you will see a pop-up in the bottom left corner telling you what it's called and where it's from.

2015 Roblox player here. what honestly killed Roblox for the games was the moderation back around 2020. They starting going downhill and made some stupid choices on Roblox that probably are even still on until today. Roblox does not give a crap about itself anymore. Looking at the front page you can find games that have the most active Player base and most microtransactions ever. and the underrated games that you are talking about don't get much shine to them because Roblox's algorithm consists of just games that have gambling and transactions and maybe rewards for the player to stay in to get profit off of. Roblox had become such a greedy company that they didn't even wanna pay money to own the OOF sound effect. It's depressing to see Roblox not care for itself anymore and that they were gonna "Improve" their moderation. most games you find on Roblox most likely does not care about it, they just solely in it for the money. As a player from 2010, the only thing that's making me stay is nostalgia and the few not well known games like Aeronautica or pwned. The admins are awfull, the compagny is awfull, the cash grabs are awfull , etc. So many problems, scripting on roblox is also not motivating or interesting, I quickly lost interest when I tried and dipped to another scripting platform.

The most difficult part of making a game on Roblox now is even getting a playerbase. A Dev's motivation on a game gets instantly killed when the game they worked on for countless hours, days or years just doesn't get any plays at all. The dev either has to spend money to advertise it (which they most likely don't have), or have an existing audience to show their game off in. Like TH-cam. And I too despise the discover tab. I miss the days where we could search games based off of category and not see the exact same 20 games a thousand times. I made a video on it aswell.

Also Roblox has been very ethically questionable lately with their lazy moderation mixed with their sponsorsed content. I have seen a lot of "Diddy" and "Eptein" games in the promoted section ☠️, but if you upload a clothing decal that is not even innapropiate but that they won't like, they will strike your account.
Been working on my game for over 2 years, it's become a massive solo project, it's still going to be long-term in dev because I love everything about developing. However it still gets 0 searches despite having decent stats. It is sad though and agree with everything you said. There is so many good games out there that get no recognition

For my four six years of playing Roblox and making friends and making arts in the platform, the only thing I consistently play right now is just Arcane Odyssey and Entry Point/Operators to some extent.

9:25 okay. Ultrakill is an indie game developed by Arsi Hakita Patala and despite not even being finished, it has more potential than 100 games in the roblox front page COMBINED. Just imagine how good the game will be when layer 8, layer 9 and P-3 come out. My point is that roblox games do indeed need to think of creative ideas and turn them into:
1. Fun and engaging gameplay (for good playtime)
2. Good marketing (for gaining players)

These games are fun to play and have replay ability (except Imscared lol) and some are even fun to play with friends! If you wanna try them out, they're on steam but I think only Team Fortress 2 is free. If you got spare money tho, you won't regret it.

It's very compatable with even my potato computer wich Somehow runs ultrakill. The graphics are low, but still good 👍 (I'm just talking random things i find in my mind BTW)

Stupid thing abt sol’s is, their auras are doodoo. Theres a ton of hame with way better visuals and auras. Theres star glitcher just sitting there for example, one of the older games (albeit its gotten a ton of remixes now, finding the og is neigh impossible) but their visuals are still better somehow.

I'm someone who started playing Roblox since 2008 and it used to be one of my absolute favorite places to be in, but when 2018 came around, I just decided to completely drop it. It was becoming less of the Roblox I fell in love with, instead becoming more corporate and lost its unique, fun identity. Creativity is almost entirely non-existent on the platform, and as you pointed out, a lot are usually just copy paste games because it's a trend that makes money rather than someone who is passionately creative. Roblox wants to be taken seriously as a game platform obviously, but it's really hard to when the majority of the promoted games are complete, utter slop that's made to pander to the younger audience. Maybe if Roblox promoted truly fantastic games and kept the trash away from piling on their front yard like I've been witnessing, then public opinion outside wouldn't see it in the way they do now. I unfortunately don't see things getting any better though, I only see it getting worse whenever I peek back at it just to see what's going on.

Robot 64 - an actual fire game based off of Mario 64 but it's got great movement options and it's just generally really fun. It also has a great community with tons of mods made around it. Prequel coming later this year too!
Untitled tag game - Simple but fun, really well polished aswell! I played it for a few minutes and fell in love with it. Better with friends too!
Plates Of Fate / Horrific Housing - Great game(s) with random events and you try to survive for the longest time to win. Plates Of Fate has some cool badges, but there are a bit of flaws regarding the actual gambling machines. Oh yeah. The weirdos in the community. Horrific Housing is like plates of fate but without those flaws, with the added issue of it not being as diverse.
I might update this list if I find more actually good games with tons of effort in them.

Bloxston Mystery, A Town of Salem inspired game where you can actually hide in your house and be able to survive if someone attacks you (if you are good at running and juking) and they actually make original roles nowadays :>
Plus it has good cutscenes like it's clean and cool to look at!
A good game I recommend is "Guts & Blackpower", Its a napoleon war inspired game but instead of fighting off other players, you work together to fend against the undead hordes and survive/escape
theres 3 game modes
1. Endless (like 6-8 maps)
Pretty self explanatory, its a COD zombies styled mode where theres waves of zombies until everyone dies
2. Objective (5 maps)
Each map has a unique factor (at this moment) and theres objectives to slowly push you towards the end of the map where you will fight off a giant horde before escaping/surviving
3. Holdout (1 map)
This is the newest gamemode where its a mix of the other two, Theres a relatively challenging but simple objective to complete but while this is happening, waves of zombies attack you with a short pause between waves
Theres also several different classes of soldier with their contribution to the team and a shop to purchase and create a more unique loadout for each class.
The game is super well polished with different uniforms for different regiments, Voice acting, Well made maps, and a more unique zombie system that reminds me of the zombies in Project: Zomboid
As well as several badges (ranging in difficulty) to complete (with a few secret ones)

I'm really into guts and blackpowder because the game honestly grew on me, it's animations are smooth (especially since the recent update), the game isn't all micro-transactions (there are some but they don't give advantages only different clothing options to chose from and different accessories), and the designs for some of the player outfits, enemies, and maps are all based off of real life things/locations.
Although it's not a low player count game it's a genuine blast to play and it's genuinely cared for by the developers with updates every now and again showing they're committed.
Sol's RNG is my enemy. My little brother whos 13 plays it 24/7. He doesnt play any other game with me anymore... I Miss those times. I always ask myself how the hell that game is exciting to him.

My current favourite game is Risk Universalis. It's a game where you rp as a country with paint on a map. It supports realistic, custom, heck even personal maps with 3D buildings, but it struggles to get over 600 active player. I have found it just because a person I randomly friended was playing it casually.

I originally had interest in a Roblox project, working on a Metal Gear Solid V style RPG with story elements and the highest historical accuracy possible. Due to Roblox being full of 'games' that are hardly games in my eyes, or not games at all (rng shit), me and my friends split apart from wanting to work on games. Recently we got back into working on games, and this video, somehow gave me inspiration to go work on arms research and historical stuff for the game. Thanks lol. Great vid.
As much as people or developers can get mad at sol's rng for being so popular, you still gotta give credit to the fact they have mentally manipulated the player with a basic, free to play experience with no gameplay for him and thousands of others to play it for hours, making the devs a ton of cash without actually making the player spend money

i started playing roblox in end of 2016, so i cant really say anything considering i was pretty late to the nostalgia party
but i do know that, yes, quality has gone down, wether its quality in the playerbase (by that i mean how nice people are or how toxic they are) considering a huge chunk of the playerbase will go out their way to insult you and even bypass chat just to try and prove a point that they're "superior"
but also, game wise
and its been the case since simulator games have popped up, and those we're actual gambling slop that could sometimes make kids spend hundreds of dollars worth of robux, just for some colorful pet that they'd stop using not even 2 days later either cause they stopped playing or cause they got better ones
in itself, sol rng, an exemple you gave, isnt all that bad, theres worse out there, the appeal of the game being you can get nice auras by just, afking, where most games force you to play for days if not weeks to get nice things you want
now i know this sounds stupid considering the game is pure rng so you might never get what you want

I'm in a similar boat. I started playing in 2017, and I have even noticed the dip in ROBLOX's quality. When I first started playing, the games of the front page were more or less good. Game like jailbreak, or Murder Mystery 2. Now all of that has gone down the drain in favor of RNG simulator, or skibidi toilet defense.

Its true that most popular games are kinda bad and aimed towards young children nowadays, but I personally don't think that Roblox (the company) has changed much. They never really cared about the games in the first place and just provided a platform for them. They've always just been a background actor ever since it started getting popular, which it has been for maybe 10 years now. It's just gotten more and more popular over the years. There are still a lot of gems and really good games on the platform, you really just gotta find them. Most of them have between 100 and 1500 players tho, which you gotta keep in mind. My general rule of thumb is that a game is active when it has over 100 concurrent players during all times of the day. Like that, you have a lot of niche games you can play. But if you only look for games with 1k or more players, trust me, it's hard to find many passion projectsand actually nice games. Most of the passion projects have less than 1k players. Really only one games that I play regularly even reaches 1000 players sometimes. All I can say is look hard enough and eventually you'll find a gem.
There is a lot of really good games on the platform, for example my deepwoken, rouge lineage, juke's towers of hell, parasite, decaying winter, derelict, etc. Most of listed games provide unique experience that (from what i know) dont copy any ideas. But what i know for a fact, is that u need to search these type of games in the piles of trash, which is quite sad to think of

Here is a great game I would recommend to play, although it's quite hard to get into:
Juke's Towers of Hell is a roblox obby game revolving around "towers" that are usually up to 1000 studs tall with varying gameplay. There are different types of towers, lots of creativity and up to 300+ towers in the game currently. I find that the issue with this game is that the quality gets better as you play more, but in order to get to the higher quality obbies you need to be insanely good at obbies in order to do so. There is so much to do in this game and I would highly recommend trying it out if you would like to give obbies a try. If daiorg sees this comment and makes a video on it that would be amazing!! For anyone that does want to try this obby game, have fun playing it.
Okay, real quick, if you want an actual decent game,
Decaying Winter. It's punishing to learn but once you get used to the mechanics I find it pretty fun,
It's a roguelike game where you go out, gather loot, and then head back to base before the storm arrives.
Once the storm arrives, turrets guarding your base will de-activate, and a hoard of scavengers will then
charge your base, attacking you and your comrades, each night being harder than the last.
So far there's just two endings but the game is still being updated to this day so new stuff will be added in the future.

the game was stagnant for quite some years, but now its now up and running back into development phase! bug fixes, sneek peeks of new content whether it'd be maps or perks to come. try it as currently the penalty for dying has been more lenient and it should be a perfect opportunity to attempt that game
The biggest issue with Roblox is that the demographic is at a younger age. It doesn’t attract to older audience.
Normally for things like “the old version of [x] was better!” I’d say that their just blinded by nostalgia, but for Roblox I would say I agree (kind of, mainly because PHIGHTING never existed back then :PPPP )

Sol’s RNG reminds me of this game on steam where you roll a chance to get a banana model wrapped with a unique texture that you can trade with other players for sometimes real money. It’s all a bloat of crapware. Sol’s rng should be seen as a huge point being made about how children have developed a gambling disorder.

Arcane odyssey was a game about a world of magic and It is part of a game series called the “Arcane Series”that belongs to vtex games and upon its release in 2023 had over 70k players daily. After a few months the player count slowly but surely dropped down to 1k and after the Nimbus sea update they were able to reach 10k+ players. The story is great, The difficulty is no cakewalk, it has the stat points system which is pretty important and determines what build you will have and what special ability you will have near the end of the unfinished story still actively being worked on by vtex and his team. If you wanna know more about the game I can promise you it is worth checking out.

When people say they miss old/classic roblox, sometimes they do miss being happy, but it gets to such a level that you actually miss an old roblox with decent game recommendations that aren't cashgrabs like "skibidi into jax fun obby". I've been playing since 2017 and found many great underrated games along the way, examples:

2. Juke's Towers of Hell
3. Roblox BRICKBATTLER
4. Tower World
5. Regretevator (A new take on those fun elevator games from mid 2010's)

I felt the same way about roblox back in 2020, until I found adopt me, it has a huge community, with basically endless potential you can do, make megas, make neons, don't like the grind? you can trade instead, don't like that either? you can build houses with endless potential, and if you don't like that either you can just socialize with your friends and have fun trying out all the features, its one of the best games I've ever played and it sucks how people say that the game Is bad because they don't know how to navigate through it.

My all time favorite roblox game has got to be Apocalypse Rising.
A prime example of "Every good thing needs to come to an end eventually"
Honestly, the only reason I've played Sol's RNG is that I didn't even know what the game was and wanted to check it out, 30 minutes of my life have been wasted, even testing brookhaven out was better than that
Don't get me started on how many things roblox allows despite it being directly against their rules, for example some of the newer avatar bodies breach the modesty layer rule

A good game I recommend is "Guts & Blackpower", Its a napoleon war inspired game but instead of fighting off other players, you work together to fend against the undead hordes and survive/escape
theres 3 game modes
1. Endless (like 6-8 maps)
Pretty self explanatory, its a COD zombies styled mode where theres waves of zombies until everyone dies
2. Objective (5 maps)
Each map has a unique factor (at this moment) and theres objectives to slowly push you towards the end of the map where you will fight off a giant horde before escaping/surviving
3. Holdout (1 map)
This is the newest gamemode where its a mix of the other two, Theres a relatively challenging but simple objective to complete but while this is happening, waves of zombies attack you with a short pause between waves
Theres also several different classes of soldier with their contribution to the team and a shop to purchase and create a more unique loadout for each class.
The game is super well polished with different uniforms for different regiments, Voice acting, Well made maps, and a more unique zombie system that reminds me of the zombies in Project: Zomboid
As well as several badges (ranging in difficulty) to complete (with a few secret ones)
I've been playing the same game on Roblox for years, and watching Floor Escape 2's player base slowly decline because of these "Gems" is kinda sad
Roblox promoting bad games progresses like the dementia.
A month ago my home page was filled with good games, now it is complete bs.

i have some game suggestions:
Isle - or any game made by badorkbee, high quality, difficult games that don't shove microtransactions in your face
neonKnights - roguelike made by Blockage, so high quality they ended up moving to develop on steam after releasing this
JTOH (Juke's Towers of Hell) - difficult game with over 200 "towers" that pushes the difficulty limit of obbies, i put too much time into this game
Ragdoll UNIVERSE - 3d fps made by LSPLASH (DOORS creator), really fun gameplay
