What gave X18 the spooky atmosphere in SoC was that once you where in, you're met with death silence... except for those footsteps in the darkness.. or something/someone suddenly banging on pipes one floor down. In Stalker 2 however so much noise. Constant talking and yelling on the radio, flood of monster attacks. Might make it feel dangerous but not scary. Definitely not the same immersion that made X18 special imo.
Stalker 2 is also atmospheric and way better in many ways. I don’t understand people who always complain. Do you want exactly the same game as the first one?
Too much brick walls make it feel less like a bunker and more like a regular cellar/underground location. Also, the overall look of the new Stalker kind of feels off (at least in this area), like it's not 2024 levels of visual fidelity, like the Metro games have, especially Exodus.
he haven't entered the lab, he literally have a closed door to the lab before him, you would visit another labs in the game - they are every bit as bad as the original(in sense of atmosphere and a fear factor), love you people making the conclusions on a basis of 9 minute clip when the entrance to the lab is shown and it is 1 for 1 as in the original, but a lot more delapidated, which makes sense
Haven’t seen any labs past x-18 so far, so I can’t really make conclusions. But right now what annoys me the most is how many bloodsuckers developers put EVERYWHERE. I remember how special and scary it felt to meet him for the first time in SoC. But that specialness is gone now cus by the time you get to x-18 you’ve already killed like at least 5 bloodsuckers. Developers made bloodsuckers so common that they can’t scare you anymore AT ALL.
I swear, this engine didn't work with Stalker atmosphere, and to be even worse, they simply didn't add the iconic atmosphere sounds from distant mutants, wind blowing, people falling into anomalies and stuff, not even including the lack of A-life😂😂, i was playing yesterday and didn't find a single living being, be human or mutant, roaming in the map. Plus the fact that due to the lack of A-life, the mutants are sometimes spawning in the same places.

IDk why but when I entered Lab and got trough the whole thing NOBODY was talking to me via radio ? I just got the same spooky bs as in SoC :D .
