    Why mess with USPS? Do you have any idea how hard we work day in and day out? I think people have this misconception that we’re all cliff clavin and spend our time at cheers or happily whistle down the lane tossing newspapers on porches … Why would you even need to be in the docks? We’re not hiding whatever conspiracies or contraband you may be trying to expose … we’re overworked like most of America and serving the community as dignified and efficiently as we possibly can … leave us alone …There’s just no reason for this ….

      You " So Call Media Press) rave about Poster 7 and how it gives you permission to film and do whatever you want to do on postal property, including insult patrons who are actually conducting business there and haress employees who are trying to do their job. You failed to mention that Poster 7 also mentions that you have to make an appointment prior with the postmaster. One more thing, you people do it to have more clicks on your tube channel and thus get paid more money, you're filming and harassing people without their permission and getting paid for it which makes it illegal look it up. The best thing for the workers you haress to do is completely ignore you like you're not even there because that wouldn't be good for your views. Unless of course you get out of control with the customers and employees then they can the police so that they may remove you from the property. By the way the USPS doesn't get one penny from taxpayers.

    Great explanations to the employees who obviously haven’t seen or read the Poster 7. They, as with many public employees, don’t know or understand the plain view doctrine. The “purpose” of your story doesn’t matter.

    • @thetruepatriot7733
      @thetruepatriot7733 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol.... the plain view doctrine has nothing to do with citizens viewing objects or people in public. The constitution protects our rights to view and record things that are visible from public property but the plain view doctrine applies specifically to government and law enforcement. In the United States, the plain view doctrine is an exception to the Fourth Amendment's warrant requirement that allows an officer to seize evidence and contraband that are found in plain view during a lawful observation. The plain view doctrine does not apply to citizens or post office employees....but the constitution and the 1st amendment definitely do!

    • @hawkeyejohnny968
      @hawkeyejohnny968 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Management does a facility security and safety/health inspection annually. This is when those deficiencies should be reported and corrected. If reported, they have a timeframe to be corrected and is monitored by the Safety Office. The Postmaster must be falsifying their reports. There is a form for employees to report safety deficiencies and should be available on the workroom floor. Safety is everyone’s responsibility. An email to your POOM might be necessary.

  • @anthonydavis4676
    @anthonydavis4676 ปีที่แล้ว

    While it's good that you are shining light on these postal workers not being adequately trained on the rights allowed on post office premises, there are instances in this video where you are actually in the wrong.
    While you are correct about being allowed to film in the entrances, lobbies, foyers, corridors, and auditoriums of the post office - Poster 7 (at 5:02), which is derived from Title 39 CFR § 232.1 (Conduct on postal property), states that you are allowed to do so "Except as prohibited by official signs or the directions of security force personnel or other authorized personnel, or a Federal court order or rule."
    Now I didn't see any security officers or the local postmaster tell you to stop, so you're good there - but the part I'm looking at where there seems to be trouble is the "...Federal court order or rule." portion.
    In "Ward v. Rock Against Racism (1989)", the United States Supreme Court ruled that restrictions/regulations can be placed on the practicing of any freedom (be it freedom of speech or press), as long as it's "...narrowly tailored to serve the government’s legitimate content-neutral interests but does not need to be the least restrictive or the least-intrusive means of doing so."
    Basically what that means is a restrictive regulation must "[promote] a substantial government interest that would be achieved less effectively absent the regulation." An example would be that filming customers of the post office could be restricted if filming disrupted general post office activities. Since the post office is designed to ensure the public can send mail, the process of sending mail is priority. If the filming is interrupting that process, then the government interest is being achieved less effectively.
    Now the reason I bring this all up is the USPS does indeed have such restrictive regulations in play. By going to the USPS official website and looking at the "Rights and Permissions" section they have available, you'll see that under the Photography section,
    "Informal pictures taken with a handheld camera for personal use are allowable at the discretion of the Postmaster. Photos cannot disrupt operations and must take place in publicly accessible areas. No prior permission is required from the Office of Rights and Permissions.
    For taking informal pictures, you may not:
    -Set up lighting or scaffolding
    -Include USPS employees, customers, or mail
    -Depict security cameras
    Any personal photography that does not follow the guidelines listed above, causes undo disruption, or raises potential or real security concerns can be restricted by the Postmaster."
    Looking at your video again, there are several instances of you capturing footage of USPS employees and customers, and looking at the 2:21 mark, there appears to be a security camera at the upper right corner of the building - meaning that you can't be filming these sections due to it violating the regulations the USPS has on Informal Photography.
    Now the reason I'm classifying this video as "Informal" is that in the "Professional Photographs" section of their Rights and Permissions, it's stated that,
    "Pictures taken on Postal Service premises require a License or Location Agreement, whether for commercial or non-commercial use. This includes professional photographers, documentary filmmakers, student photographers, student filmmakers, and nonprofits."
    And I'm taking a leap here and guessing that a License/Location Agreement wasn't obtained before filming started.
    Anyway, once again - I think it's good that you're helping to shine a light on postal workers not being properly trained or educated on the rights we as citizens have on their premises, but on that same token - we as citizens also have to take it upon ourselves to become knowledgeable on what our rights and how we can properly practice them - because so often is it the case that we learn all about them when we get in trouble.
    Hope that all helps you in future audits. Thanks for reading!

They can't tell you not to do something that is your god given right. You're the boss, you have to believe you are the boss and act accordingly.

    Seems like there's a few other useful options to earn a living than making youtube videos. Seriously, no "1A Auditors" would be doing what they're doing if it wasn't for the possibility of making some money from it. The general public doesn't care if you can record in "public places" because that's not what a normal adult does. There's other useful ways to be productive. And, really, "1A auditing" doesn't change a thing in the real world except for adding to the "auditors" ever present criminal history.
