PIP and ESA are very different. ESA is about what you can do, PIP is about what you cannot do. The telephone assessments do not help. My PIP runs out at the end of 2025, not sure about my ESA. People do not understand the things that disabled people go through, I have a HOCM that leaves me breathless, lethargic, unable to walk that far. I get support from the local DPAC group.
how do you get pip with depression my depression is severe i've been assessed but affects me everyday i feel lonely all the time it's just a dark empty cloud above me
Really sorry to hear that. Anyone can apply for PIP, it's basically assessed on how the condition affects you, rather than the condition itself. You can see how the assessment is broken down on the gov.uk website. I wish you well when you apply.

The call should be stress-free, but if you're suffering from anxiety, it would be a good idea to mention this to them at the start of the assessment. The assessment itself is relaxed and can be done at your pace. Good luck with the assessment, and please try not to worry too much about it.
Don’t be scared guys... I’ve been on disability for years... there’s tons of free lawyers specifically for disability claims that make it much much easier to get through it. I was put on it when I was 25 (in Hawaii, so thar could make things different since it’s an incredibly liberal state) and was through the entire process start to finish within 3 months. Just take a breath and be as honest and truthful as possible. Talking to others who have been through it can be super helpful too
You need to claim Universal Credit and hand in fit notes until you get a Work capability assessment. You will be placed in one of 3 groups -1) Fit for Work - 2) LCW - Not fit for work at the moment but the near future. 3) LWCRA - not fit for work and you get an additional payment.
No, I had a few other reports - rheumatologist consultant, GP, my employment insurer, occupational health assessor, psychologist, psychiatrist, and HMRC. So I literally bombarded them with info.
If you had put in a default judgement in you,d not need a hearing. And the court would have more time to deal with these stooges.🐽How stressful and teasing being integrated like that.
How long did u wait . I just got awarded pip with no assessment for PTSD rumatiod arthritis and addiction I got advanced rate . I sent my ESA forms away last month . how long for assessment
Wow that’s a long call and not helpful for mental health issues. The system needs to change medical evidence should be enough. Think depends on who you get about tripping people up it is yes and no answers when guidance states must be able to do it repeatable and safely.
Agree, medical evidence should be enough. The call for me was pretty long, but I had my wife with me to help me out. One of my coping mechanisms is to ramble on as well, so the length of the call was partly down to me !
Totally understand your question, and partly, yes. I have trouble fixing my mind onto an end point, so can't get there directly with my speech, if that makes sense.
I think you are incredibly kind to be expressing your experiences because I know how many people are under immense pressure.

How do I claim ESA they said I can't get it because didn't get enuff national insurance but isn't there a other part to it
I'm not sure to be honest. Maybe contact them to see what they say.
Lucky 7 if you don’t have enough NI you can claim other ESA on universal credit.
