I really like the Luke from The Last Jedi, if only for all of the great bits he comes with. That outfit and all of the accessories is a great reason to pick this version up! And the porg!
Awesome face sculpt of Mr Hamill ,loved the Porg some great accessories . For me luke is a fresh faced farm boy hero just can't associate him as a grumpy middle aged old man ,but that's life lol.
I have this figure and he is incredible with all the accessories. I have him with the poncho on and the the backpack on the ground in front of him holding the lightsaber. He’s posed next to sideshow mythos Obi-wan since they are similar looks . Can’t wait to see what you’re getting next !

Thank you mate! Yeah it’s always good to pick them up new on release. When I’m picking these up now there’s always the risk of issues because they’re second-hand, even if they’re well looked after!
I think the last Jedi one looks much more like him but the hair on the force awakens figure looks so much more real, to be honest when you brought out the force awakens one next to it I was surprised how bad I thought the face was in comparison to the new one.
That’s really interesting cos I was thinking how good the force awakens one was when I put them side by side! 😅 It’s been a few months since I watched TFA though so maybe the likeness in my mind isn’t as accurate so therefore the figure seems more accurate? Not sure if that makes any sense at all though haha 😂
Not a big sequel fan, but must say that some of these figures definitely appeal to me and since prices are definitely low on the second market I still think picking a few up will eventually happen
Got to hand it to Hot Toys they are masters of their craft when it comes to the more mature characters shall we say😀fantastic likeness and the back pack and accessories are amazing aren’t they? Lots of posing options based on how you want to layer him up. The cut and sew aspect of Hot Toys clothing are impressive although I am sorry about your hood wiring issue, easy done when trying to get things just so, but doesn’t detract from the look I think when you have the hood down. He ranks alongside Count Dooku and OG Obi Wan as one of the best head sculpts I think?. One of my favorite Hot Toys Star Wars figures 🎉 the headsculpts on most of the sequel characters are some of Hot Toys' best work to date. I have this one and the Crait Luke version and definitely give this one the nod in terms of accessories, details, and overall value. Also: I believe you're spot-on regarding the orange backpack being part of Luke's flight suit repurposed. Sideshow Collectibles did something similar with their Mythos Obi-Wan Kenobi, as you can see that his backpack has parts of his Clone-Wars armor visible. Little things like that really help add to the realism of these figures. Great 👍 unboxing and review video 🍻 Cheers
I really like this figure! I was a bit underwhelmed by Crait Luke at first but I've now come to regard it as one of my favourite Luke figures tbh. Looks absolutely fantastic, so screen accurate! Interesting what you say about the Mythos Obi-Wan! I've been very tempted to pick that figure up but trying to resist going down the Sideshow rabbit hole as well as Hot Toys!! So just sticking with the Sideshow Tie Pilot and AT-AT Driver for now. Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻😀
Given all the accessories and extra items of clothing, it is a great figure. So many possibilities for posing. Best Luke? For me that would always be one from the original trilogy. Seeing them side by side, his beard gets grayer but his hair gets darker; if you look at the third sequel Luke, you'll notice his hair is even darker. He must of had a stache of Grecian Formula. 😆
Yeah tbf I meant best Luke of the sequels as totally agree with you mate, OT is never bettered! 😀 I thought the third sequel Luke is a force projection of his younger self isn’t it? Which would account for the Grecian hair look 😀👍🏻
After watching your video, it's the first time I've really seen this figure. Have to admit it does look amazing. Great detail throughout, also I think your spot on with the rucksack. Awesome headsculpt! I have the TFA piece and that will do fine, I just wasn’t a huge fan of the the last 2 episodes. Can’t get past my disappointment with them to get the pieces lol

It definitely one of the best sequel figures. Great outfit and accessories. Planning my collection, I’m only getting a select few of the sequel figures, and out of those, feel this is the strongest Luke sculpt. I managed to buy just the head sculpt on eBay recently, and plan to get the Luke Crait figure and swap the head-sculpts over. Prefer the classic look of the Jedi Crait figure and this headsculpt, as opposed to the Crait headsculpt with that dodgy side parting! 👍🏼
Yeah I know exactly what you mean, I’m not particularly a fan of the Crait Luke head sculpt either! Although I’ve not seen it up close yet so hoping it might win me over when/if I get it. Sounds like you have a good plan anyway and will have the best of both worlds (Lukes)! 😀👍🏻

The accuracy of a head sculpt is a very important part of the draw to a figure. Granted it's not the be-all and end-all because sometimes other things matter more, like who the figure represents, or even the helmeted version instead of the unmasked one (Ant man is a prime example of a figure where I'd want his helmet on because the helmet is so iconic and unique), but I'd definitely say the accuracy of a head sculpt is a prime focus. I think you were rather intuitive when you worked out that his backpack is made from his old flight suit. Now you've pointed it out, it seems undeniable. That's definitely the flight suit fabric and the pouches do seem to be the pockets from it. In the film you see his X-wing submerged at the foot of the island, so it's highly likely he arrived there in his flight suit. Props to you for figuring it out! Have to admit it's a phenomenal head sculpt of Mark Hamill. I think his boots are superb, too. I'm afraid after seeing the two head sculpts side by side I am sorry to say that the TLJ sculpt shows up how poor the TFA one was. Like Mark Hamill himself, I really disagree with the direction they took Luke. It broke my heart just like it broke his. However, that said, I think anyone putting their biases aside can admit that this figure is an outstanding, truly impressive, representation of the character as he appeared in the film.
Yeah quite correct, I like a good head sculpt but obviously some figures (especially helmeted) will be preferable in their iconic look. Like if they ever release a Boushh Leia I’m more than likely displaying that with helmet on because the character looks so great! Thanks!! Just the colour of the backpack made me suddenly realise, and like you say Red 5 is submerged in the sea (and a wing panel is used as a door to his hut!) Yes!! I’ve read other comments saying that TFA sculpt looks terrible when it’s side by side with TLJ version! To be honest I thought they both looked great! Maybe I need a trip to specsavers! 😅 I have a somewhat controversial opinion on sequel Luke. I actually liked how the narrative positioned Luke with PTSD and that he’d cut himself off from the force. When he realises Han is dead and the Resistance is nearing its end he basically does an Obi-Wan Kenobi and sacrifices himself to save the day! But yeah I do love hearing all the differing views and opinions on the sequels and respect everyone’s opinions. What everyone says is true, from a certain point of view 😀

The digital effects team had to create a flying sea-bird to cover up all the Puffins. I was actually on a short staycation in the area, when the scenes were being filmed.
Ah cool! When I was looking at the pics of the island I did notice the large quantity of puffins! Great how they incorporated them into the film as Porgs! And I am super jealous you were there when it was being filmed, that’s awesome! 🙌🏻
I love this figure. Mark hamill is such a polarizing head sculpt. Love or hate it. This one is a good one. I regret selling it. I really want the crait one. Think they made it. Im waiting for new bespin figure. Great review.

Its one of the nest Sequel figures. Ive posed him with the poncho on over the backpack. With the poncho swept to one side. Probably not movie authentic but wanted both on view. Ive got the three Luke sequel ones now. Prefer this one the most the crait one is good but something just doesn’t sit right with me on it. Looking forward to your next video. Any teasers??!!

Anyway as long as you’re happy with it it’s all good 👌🏻 I was just a bit worried about too much strain on the straps if it went over the poncho as well as it does my head in when I break stuff, like the wire coming out his hood!! 😅
I wasn't a big fan of how Luke was portrayed in TLJ and this outfit isn't my favourite from that film (I prefer the crait version) though this is undeniably an impressive figure. The deluxe version has so much stuff with it. I've seen it at some great prices before too.

I’ve come to terms with it though and really liked this look too tbh. I’m glad you said you like the Crait version as I’m hoping to get a hold of that one soon 😀

I think the LJ HS is a bit crisper than the FA HS. But the FA outfit is more iconic. That end scene in FA is amazing.
