I lived and taught in S. Korea for 13 years and now back in the States teaching ESL to adults here. After a year, I'd like to try out seasonal work. Taiwan is a beautiful place for sure and I'd love to go back for a visit. Happy to find your channel!

Thanks. Nice, we had similar paths. I was gone about that amount of time and back reaching esl in Denver and also doing tours. I'm enjoying but definitely missing some things being overseas, especially the affordability. Taiwan is great. In a perfect world I'd live half year abroad and half year in states.

I'm a transplant from Taiwan (Xindian!) who have been living in Buffalo for the last 15 years. I first found your channel through the Slow Roll Buffalo video - and now this is full circle.
I'm very glad you liked Taiwan! I miss the public transportation, the mountains, the rivers, the food, and the kindness of the people dearly, and decent healthcare.
I'm also very proud of it being one of the most, if not the most open minded democracies in Asia - I disagree with the way you put it as if it is a part of China already ("will take it back").
My granddad used to say "China really belongs to the government of Taiwan since R.O.C. came before P.R.C.", before he passed away. His dream was for Taiwan to take back China.
Reality is, Taiwan will not go down without a bloody fight. I think it takes democracy and freedom very seriously.

Awesome! Thats a funny coincidence. We traded places there for a bit. I def miss Taiwan too. I'm looking forward to going back. I regret not starting tours there when I easily could have. Instead wasted my time in China and got ripped off. How's Buffalo treating you?
I wondered how mainland China would be if the ROC did win. I'm sure much better. Sorry I'm a little pessimistic about situation. I hope Taiwan does give a huge fight but not sure about Strawberry generations will to fight but I could be wrong. I think the CPC is about as evil as it gets. I hope they fall sooner then later.
