    Love your tutorials. Can you guide me on which thickness of stabilizer to use for a quilt label. Thanks.

      @BERNINAofNaperville  ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the fabric and what kind of lettering. It’s always a good start to start with regular light weight tear away stabilizer.

    Thanks for this tutorial. Is the tool box on the machine or is it a software that needs to be purchased? If it’s on the machine, how do I access it?

    • @BERNINAofNaperville
      @BERNINAofNaperville  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tool Box is a separate software application that is downloaded from the BERNINA website and installed on your Mac or PC. You can purchase it online or through your local BERNINA Dealer. It’s available many ways and the price range is $250-$800 USD. www.bernina.com/en-US/Software-US/Embroidery-Software/BERNINA-Toolbox

    Why does it leave a space like in only one of the words? I have a new 790 Pro.

    • @BERNINAofNaperville
      @BERNINAofNaperville  ปีที่แล้ว

      Why does what leave a space? Sometimes the is more space between sim of the letters based on how things are programmed in. An easy fix if you break apart. Watch this video:

    Thank you, Gayle, for the helpful videos. My wife and I just bought a used 830 so we are "drinking from the firehose!!" as there is just so much this machine can do. One question we have is how small text or graphics can the 830 embroider? We have some clients that wanted us to add a "Courtesy of (Business Name/Logo)" on the pocket of some handmade aprons... however our attempt at a 70mmx12mm logo or lettering was not clean looking. Is there a limit to how small those kinds of graphics can be? Or do you have any tips on stabilizers, needles, etc. to use when doing smaller graphics/letters? Thanks!

    • @BERNINAofNaperville
      @BERNINAofNaperville  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really is not suggested to use the built in fonts on the BERNINAs (830 or others) to reduce the letters to be that small. No amount of stabilizer will fix it. If it is a generic color, you could try using 60wt thread in the top and bottom.
      However, I recommend that you invest in the BERNINA Embroidery software 9. You can download a free trial for 30 days. During that period, you could digitize the small words you need with an appropriate font (a run font rather than a satin).
      Find the free trial here: www.bernina.com/en-US/Software-US/Embroidery-Software/BERNINA-Embroidery-Software-9/BERNINA-Embroidery-Software-9-DesignerPlus-Full-Version/Free-Trial/Difference-between-V9-Full-Version-and-Trial-Version

    I might have missed it in the video but what stabilizer did you back the label with? Also, how do you attach it to the quilt? What are your steps after you take it out of the hoop?

    • @BERNINAofNaperville
      @BERNINAofNaperville  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually use tear away stabilizer. As for attaching it to the quilt, you remove it from the hoop, remove the stabilizer. Trim it to the size you want and hand sew it to the back of the quilt.

    Which module of the software do I need to purchase to do quilt labels, is it the full version or just the lettering module, great video 😀

    • @BERNINAofNaperville
      @BERNINAofNaperville  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you referring to toolbox? If so the editing and lettering modules. If you are referring to the BERNINA embroidery software, the creator level would suffice.

      @@maureenberry bernina embroidery software designer plus and creator are not available for Mac. The toolbox software is, but that software is very limiting. You can learn more here: at this link you can read about creator, designer plus and toolbox www.bernina.com/en-US/Software-US/Embroidery-Software or at your bernina store for sales and services.

    Can you do this on a B770 that has been upgraded?

    • @BERNINAofNaperville
      @BERNINAofNaperville  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. You can make labels on any BERNINA embroidery machine. Specifically what are you asking if your updated 770 can do?

  • @marycreed-pallone9732
    @marycreed-pallone9732 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for this and all your videos! I am learning a lot from you. I do have a question, though. When using a font in the embroidery machine, how much can you reduce it before it loses quality? I heard somewhere you should reduce no more than 20%.

    • @BERNINAofNaperville
      @BERNINAofNaperville  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Mary, this is true that the best quality is kept within that 20% ratio (increased size or decreased size). When you reduce too much, thread breakage can occur because the design simply puts too much thread in one small area. I always try before I commit to anything when I exceed these recommendations by stitching out on a test piece.
      If you are wanting to do really small lettering, consider the BERNINA Embroidery Software for this purpose. You will get a lot more editing and designing flexibility.

    • @cvan1075
      @cvan1075 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a density adjustment button that reduces stitch count for more than 20% reductions ….on your machine where you perform this same changes. It works for towel monograms in terrycloth
