Hey Nick, nice to hear from ya. We had a good snowfall but since then the weather is more like early October. The North Fork is an amazing place loaded with wildlife. i plan on spending some serious time in there this winter and next year. take care Nick.
The snow really is beautiful. Substantially different than the 60 degrees in Knoxville today. For the last four years I've spent the entire month of August backpacking in the Wind River Range, although last August I did the trip to Yellowstone with Joey Coconato (the video you watched). Joey recommended that I check out the Absaroka Wilderness and your video confirms his recommendation. Enjoyed the video!
The North Absaroka, Washakie and Teton Wilderness areas are all amazing places. The North Fork is a huge drainage but not a loop hike unless you want to do some off trail stuff. The Washakie/Teton has a few great loops my favorite being the Yellowstone River headwaters. I spend most of my time there but this winter and next summer i am going to dedicate my hikes to the North Fork. I have never hiked the Winds. I love the South Fork/North Fork area so much that i just keep going back-almost 50yrs now. i do appreciate you taking time to watch and comment on my videos. i'll be looking at your stuff as soon as this holiday family stuff is over and i am back home. take care, be safe...
