There were things I liked about all the versions including "Until The End Of Time" by Syke since it uses an interpolation of the same "Children Of The Night" sample by The Jones Girls, so I thought what if there was a version of "My Closest Roaddogz" that had a bit of EVERYTHING? Including Syke's intro from 2Pac's "Until The End Of Time" album.
Funny thing, even though I was never crazy about the intro on the 2nd disc of the "Until The End Of Time" album I always loved Syke as an artist and I kinda thought that that intro goes hand in hand with "My Closest Roaddogz"
The original version is the retail version with a different beat. What happened was Big Syke had the album called Be Yo Self, and 2Pac heard it and told Syke they needed to take those songs and mix em into unreleased material he had, so that is what they did. Syke talked about it in an interview, and that is why Syke's record label was mad at 2Pac, and is why 2Pac asks at the beginning of F***** Wit The Wrong if he needs to get permission from Syke's record label to use his name on the song. Syke's record label demanded lots of money. Nonetheless some of the songs have been leaked, like Better Dayz was mixed with the song Good Timez from Syke's album, a song Syke had called Till The End Of Time was mixed with 2Pac's song Closest Road Dogz. They even remixed the beat from Syke's Till The End Of Time Song and used it on Closest Road Dogz. Syke literally said 2zPac heard his album and said I got songs that go with these verses, let's mix them. So basically 2Pac already had the song Closest Road Dogs, Syke had the song Till The End Of Time, and just by pure chance Syke says Road Dogs at the end of his verse, so 2Pac wanted him to use the verse on a remixed version of Closest Road Dogz.
@@mambaveli_24 No they didn't. It was all about the record label wanting money because Syke took verses from his album and put them on 2Pac songs. They problem was not between them. Again, 2Pac even made jokes about it. That story of them having beef came from Frank Alexander, and a lot of things he said have been proven false. The truth is Syke's record label simply wanted money and big fees for features. There is a list of dates for 2Pac recording sessions, and it shows that after the songs were recorded using verses from Syke's album, they basically did no more work, and it is because the record label demanded lots of money. But even though they were not doing songs, you can still see in studio videos from right before 2Pac was killed that Syke is still in the studio with 2Pac. There are several videos from right before he died where Syke is still there. If you listen to Homie N Thiugs, the reason the music changes when 2Pac's verse comes on is because that verse was actually a freestyle recorded on a VHS camcorder that belonged to Scarface in the studio while they were mixing the song Running On E. So what you actually hear is the Running On E beat and Homies N Thugs beat mixed together. Smile and Running On E were recorded the same day on July 13 1996, and you can see Syke is there in the Scarface VHS footage. Some of that VHS footage plays in the actual Homies N Thugs video. Scarface has his VHS camcorder and was filming in the studio while they were mixing Running On E, and 2Pac started freestyling, which is where the verse on Homies N Thugs comes from. That is why they call it the Running On E freestyle. Nonetheless, Syke was still around, and that was like 3 weeks before he got shot.
@@mambaveli_24 If you have not figured it out, 2Pac was always cutting corners, and would take things from several people he was working with. He sampled Spice 1 on several songs. For example, on Pour Out A Little Liquor he sampled Spice 1 for the hook. That voice you hear is from the Spice 1 song Welcome To The Ghetto. He says my cousin died last year and I still can't let go. 2Pac simply made it the hook for Pour Out A Little Liquor. The biggest corner he cut was on the song Picture Me Rollin. He literally the entire beat from an old Johnny J song called Better Off. Changed nothing about the beat. Most people don't know Johnny J was also a rapper, and his song Better Off is where the beat for Picture Me Rollin comes from. So using verses from Sykes album was just what he did all the time. If you listen to Syke's album, 2Pac used verses from at least 4 or 5 songs that have already leaked. Syke said they used verses from every song, so I guess there are still songs that have not leaked that used verses from Sykes album. Some that have leaked are Good Life, Better Dayz, Closest Road Dogz etc, and they all simply used a verse from Syke's album.
