Pro tip for reading dickens: read it in chapter increments. One chapter every week or few days. They were all released in penny magazines weekly, and North America monthly, so it helps to read them slowly to unpack each section and make it easier to grasp. It's the Victorian equivalent to binge watching Netflix. It can be done, but then you feel sort of lost after lol.
A little supernatural. Basically Dorian doesn't ages but his picture does. I don't wanna spoil it so I won't tell you the why or how but it's good. I have four copies of that book.
You really should start investing the Canterbury Classics editions. They're all leatherbound and super colourful! I have them all. Also Around The World In 80 Days is my favourite classic i think. It's amazing and so much fun.
I loved Tale of Two Cities! The only book in high school that I read ahead of the reading schedule... I read it in two nights. It’s been awhile but I remember the first chapter or two being excruciating to get through. So don’t let them discourage you if you aren’t into it.
The Picture of Dorian Gray is one of my absolute favorite classics! I loved it! I also have the Little Mermaid fairy tale collection in that edition too and its GORGEOUS
I seriously need to reread Alice in Wonderland. It has been years since I read it! The Picture of Dorian Grey is an amazing book -- Oscar Wilde is super fun and one of my favourite authors.
3:38. I saw that at the bookshop yesterday! It was sssssssoooooo cute :3 I also discovered this shelf in the bookshop I go to while I was looking for the graphic novels filled with CLASSICS. It's so bautiful! And the edition of Sherlock Holmes just oh my God. Some of them were literally wrapped with plastic so they wouldn't get destroyed. Just oh my. Oh and the graphic novel I ended up getting was the adaptation of the classic _To Kill A Mockingbird_ .
I’ve been feeling like I should start reading some classic books, but then I always wonder if I’ll buy them and end up needing to read them in one of my English classes anyway (I’m an English major so it’s bound to happen). I think I’ll pick up whatever I don’t read in my major once I graduate.
A Tale of Two Cities is actually really good. I was assigned to read it in high school, and thought I was going to hate it, but I ended up really loving it!
I'm not sure if I'm thankful or jealous that my favorite classics don't have as many pretty editions as Alice. 😆 Beauty and the Beast having the stories in categories like that is so cool I may have to get it now.
Heidi was actually the first classic I ever read so it means a lot to me I read it when I was really young to so I only remember the basic plot and the ending
I remember we had the second Alice book you hauled at my school library. Whenever you would talk about Alice in your videos and how you were looking for different illustrators I would think of it. Glad you found it.
I'd start off with a story you are somewhat familiar with, that way it will be an easier start since the language used in classics can be so different than modern day. That or, whatever interests you most! Hope this helps 💕
The Picture of Dorian Gray wasn't my absolute favourite, but I did find it quite enjoyable, and I actually just finished up with Call of the Wild this year, and I really liked that one too. I loved seeing so many classics in a book haul. I love YA, but I love classics just as much, and hardly anyone ever talks about them. :D
Also (having continued the video, since my last comment) loved Rudyard Kipling's stories when I was a kid, because my dad would read them to me and my brothers, and have since reread them. I enjoyed them for the most part, but there were some cringe worthy moments, with the language of the times in them. But I completely understand why they're classics still. I just bought Heidi myself, and am planning to read it during the next year. :D
I´ve read and watched alice only because of you, which lead to me going to an alice themed escape room and me now ordering theater tickets for alice in wonderland in Munich ;) so thank you for sharing your passion I guess :)
I feel like if Hailey decides to have kids one day they're going to inherit all of this Alice stuff (which I'm sure will rack up to 1,000,000,000 editions by then) and have no idea what to do with them.
I am starting to save money now so I can buy The Little Mermaid and Other Fairy Tales. Beauty and the Beast and Other Classic Fairy Tales and Grimm's Complete Fairy Tales because those books are just so beautiful that I need to have those in my life as a book lover and I must not spend my money on countless things that I should not even buy but anyways how much did you buy the different editions of classics that you have including the Barnes and Noble classics editions?
I got Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Other Stories Barnes and Noble exclusive last week and I am going to get the Peter Pan and the Wizard of Oz and the Beauty and the Beast one in this video next month
When you have zero interest in collecting classics then you watch a Hailey In Bookland Classics Haul video.....Well there goes my money I have/will make !!
Ugh, I'm reading Bleak House by Dickens right now for school. It's really good, but oh my am I tired of it haha It is just so dense! But I do want to read Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol, I feel like those will go better... maybe
You really love Alice in Wonderland! I have seen many of you video and you must be the person with most editions of ALice in WOnderland in the world! Keep going with the great work :D
Not sure if you've read it but since you love Alice in Wonderland you should read Slasher Girls and Monster Boys- it's a collection of short stories and Carrie Ryan wrote a story inspired by Alice in Wonderland in it! Highly recommend!

Brooke Poeschl Your tip is very helpful since I've always shied away from Dickens. This time I'm gonna try reading one of his novels that way😊
Brooke Poeschl oh wow I didn’t know that. I will give that a shot. I want to read a Great Expectations next month
I read 1 book in one day I bought a book yesterday and read it and finish it today no lies I promise the pages is 89 pages
Kamalika Talukdar
You should read A Christmas Carol. It is much easier to read than Charles Dickens’ other books.
I just have a feeling Hailey might name her future daughter Alice, lol.
She said she will
THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY IS THE BEST BOOK EVER READ IT
Veronica Marie It has supernatural elements?
A little supernatural. Basically Dorian doesn't ages but his picture does. I don't wanna spoil it so I won't tell you the why or how but it's good. I have four copies of that book.
I highkey need all of the barns and nobles collectible editions ^^
You really should start investing the Canterbury Classics editions. They're all leatherbound and super colourful! I have them all. Also Around The World In 80 Days is my favourite classic i think. It's amazing and so much fun.

Yay! Such a nice way to spend my afternoon watching you Hailey 💕
Dorian Gray is honestly one of my favorite classics to boot. 10/10 would recommend and hopefully you have fun reading it!
I love how you put background music in this video. It's giving me such cozy vibes!
all your comments about the authors and their books and how happy you look about all these books is so cute, i want some of that passion
Your videos always remind me that no matter how many books I buy, you'll always have a bigger collection
I loved Tale of Two Cities! The only book in high school that I read ahead of the reading schedule... I read it in two nights. It’s been awhile but I remember the first chapter or two being excruciating to get through. So don’t let them discourage you if you aren’t into it.
Omg... they’re all GORGEOUS O.o

"She's doing cartwheels down the mountain...I just couldn't leave it behind." 😆
I’ve been feeling like I should start reading some classic books, but then I always wonder if I’ll buy them and end up needing to read them in one of my English classes anyway (I’m an English major so it’s bound to happen). I think I’ll pick up whatever I don’t read in my major once I graduate.
I need all of those books, seriously 😍 Loved this book haul, Hailey!
I never knew there could be so many editions of one book until I discovered your channel.
I love this haul, and I definitely need to add a few of these books to our library.

William Morris is one of my favourite Arts&Crafts designers!
I went to Barnes and Noble and got the big pink Alice and wonderland collection thanks to you!!!!
I'm not sure if I'm thankful or jealous that my favorite classics don't have as many pretty editions as Alice. 😆 Beauty and the Beast having the stories in categories like that is so cool I may have to get it now.
I only buy books and drawing supplies. But mostly books because books are the best 😆
Heidi was actually the first classic I ever read so it means a lot to me
I read it when I was really young to so I only remember the basic plot and the ending
I loved all of them, I have both Blume Spanish Editions of Alice in Wonderland and Alice through the Looking Glass. They are amazingly beautiful...
Bookshelves look awesome!!

I'm going to be dreaming about that edition of Call of the Wild until i get it! Ugh so pretty
I just bought the B&N edition of Peter Pan and it is beautiful
I remember we had the second Alice book you hauled at my school library. Whenever you would talk about Alice in your videos and how you were looking for different illustrators I would think of it. Glad you found it.

ahhh you’re bookshelf 💗😇
Hailey what is your favorite book?
1. Alice in wonderland
2. Harry Potter
I don't really read classics much but I really want to. Where do you think I should start?
I'd start off with a story you are somewhat familiar with, that way it will be an easier start since the language used in classics can be so different than modern day. That or, whatever interests you most! Hope this helps 💕
Id also recomend starting with something short like animal farm or the great gatsby
Yeh I've been recommended The Great Gatsby before but never really tried it. I think I'll look for it at my library soon
it really depends on what you're into! I'd recommend Jane Eyre though.
Peter Pan
Have you ever thought about buying folio society's editions of wonderland and through the looking?
The Picture of Dorian Gray wasn't my absolute favourite, but I did find it quite enjoyable, and I actually just finished up with Call of the Wild this year, and I really liked that one too. I loved seeing so many classics in a book haul. I love YA, but I love classics just as much, and hardly anyone ever talks about them. :D

I have that same copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray. It’s a gothic novel with a bisexual main character. I really enjoyed it!
Great book haul! I have the same Aesop collection :)

Wow that is a lot of Alice in Wonderland books. 😀. I love the Barnes and noble editions of the classics too, they are just so pretty.
I´ve read and watched alice only because of you, which lead to me going to an alice themed escape room and me now ordering theater tickets for alice in wonderland in Munich ;) so thank you for sharing your passion I guess :)
💓 I have a few classics in wordcloud editions. There is a wordcloud edition of the brother's Grimm that I would love to have
Cant believe I found someone who is just as obsessed with end papers as I am!
Where did you buy the two books written by Charles Dickens? The covers are so pretty and I would love to buy them!
A Tale of Two Cities is my favourite Dickens that I've read :)
Love your collection of these BEAUTIFUL editions 🐰☕️🎩🍄🐛🌹
I really hope you read a Tale of Two Cities! I loved it!
I really enjoyed a Tale of Two Cities, but I still have to read Oliver Twist. 😅
Oh God, where are the Dickens books from? What publisher/edition? They are beautiful!!!
Mary Blair ❤️❤️❤️😁 I haven’t read The Picture of Dorian Gray, but The Importance of being Earnest by Oscar Wilde is hilarious!
If someone ever tells you that you buy too many books get rid of that person, you don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
What about The Complete Sherlock Holmes?? I thought you bought it in your reading vlog...🤔
I feel like if Hailey decides to have kids one day they're going to inherit all of this Alice stuff (which I'm sure will rack up to 1,000,000,000 editions by then) and have no idea what to do with them.
@Hailey in bookland you should have an honorary book shelf just for your Alice in wonderland collection
Yes yes yes! Classics!
I'm equally a book buying addict. If I have any spare money after bills I usually buy books.Clothes are a last resort lol.
I really like this background!
You should check out Alice's editions illustrated by Benjamin Lacombe. So it's in french, but the illustrations are to die for.
Just 'Kiran I’ve tried to get it but haven’t had much luck unfortunately 😭
I got Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Other Stories Barnes and Noble exclusive last week and I am going to get the Peter Pan and the Wizard of Oz and the Beauty and the Beast one in this video next month

Did you know that the Dickens books are an abridged version?? I bought them and then found out... Hope you enjoy them!!

That Dorian Grey is beautiful; I got mine last year when classics at Chapters were 3 for $10 and it's not half as pretty 😂
You are making me want to go splurge at B&N .
Ouu Edgar Allan Poe👏👏 great video as always!!
Ugh, I'm reading Bleak House by Dickens right now for school. It's really good, but oh my am I tired of it haha It is just so dense! But I do want to read Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol, I feel like those will go better... maybe
