I'm a little concerned about the "modern take" aspect. "modern take" given Disney's recent track record will either mean Michael B Jordan will be cast as Hercules or Megara will be the actual main character and Hercules will be a comedic side character. Also Disney, doesn't seem to like to promote the theme of Hard Work and Perseverance in it's modern takes on classics anymore (see Mulan remake) and instead likes to make sure their leads don't exhibit any areas of potential growth from the get go. Hercules was my favorite Disney movie growing up and I hope they don't mess it up.

I hope they don’t Mulan this. It needs Greek rep, and honestly for as flawed as the original is, it really captured the feeling of Greece in the 80’s and 90’s and that’s why it’s a classic here.
If they go to try and make it some epic hero story and take all the fun out, they’ll just once more rip it apart of representation. ‘Cause let’s face it, Ancient Greece still needs to represent the modern culture as well in spirit and the animated movie did a fantastic job with that.
Oof Mulan was a tragedy

I'm looking more forward to this live action adoption of Hercules more than the other remakes. Because ever since I watched Cheyenne Jackson as Hades in Descendants 3 I can't watch the animated Hercules the same again I was crossing my fingers that it would be a modern take on the greek hero. My Fan cast for hades is Cheyenne Jackson.
I would say that I can’t wait to see what the live action Hades is going to look like and I also can’t wait to see the live action versions of pain and panic.

Hercules is very much a story of tradition, classic archetypes, and humble charm. It embodies the qualities that modern trends cant seem to accept these days. This makes me anxious about what the live action team meant by "modern take." Anyways, hopes are high and im still excited, in any case, we will always have the original!
I liked the live action Aladdin, I sure hope Guy Ritchie can do a great job with Hercules.

I'd rather have a truer to the myths version with Hera as the villain, Zeus committing adultery, Hades as a minor supporting character, the Gigantes to do a hostile takeover, and of course have Heracles be married off to Hebe.
Disney remakes are releasing every single year. And people criticize them for being nowhere near as good as the original, having ugly CGI, being shot for shot retellings, and having little personality to them. Also not to mention people are just getting tired of the Disney remakes. I just think they don't know how to make movies anymore and that's evident with them buying Fox and the Disney remakes releasing every single year. Not to mention with remakes like Lion King, Mulan, Pinocchio, Dumbo, and Lady & The Tramp, they honestly have no idea as to why people loved the original movies at all.

I have seen the cast list. I love the muses!!! The cast there is super epic. But for the remaining cast I would have used actors of Greek origin. John Stamos, Nia Vardalos, Elena Kampounis, Rita Wilson, Theo Alexander, Alexis Georgoulis, etc. So many cool people. What an honor it would have been for them to play characters from the Greek myths.

Hopefully they do it right this time the original Hercules is inaccurate same with all the other Heracles movies not made by Disney I'm mine it doesn't have to be accurate people that actually know no Greek mythology won't like it very much.

Hopefully they don't go to far in making it too modern and keep it at least 98% original because if not it's going to suck because when they always make live action on OG Disney DC and Marvel movies they always think by making it more modern and give it a twist would be good but they just f it up
For Hercules for the casting directors is look far and wide to portrayed Hercules and Megg from my opinion is to look for that are part of Disney live action or even voice actors like Mel Gibson or Dan Stevens for Hercules for megg Amy Adams or Mandy Moore if there contract are open

These live action remakes stink of creative bankruptcy. They are multi million dollar paint by numbers copy cats that would not even exist if not for the masterpieces that are the true testimony to Walt Disney's legacy. The difference between the classic animated films and the remakes is that the classics were each a financial risk for the studio and if they failed the company would suffer financially. Even if they underpreformed at the box office - atleast they were artistically orginal . The live action remakes contain absolutely no risk because they are already riding on the legacy of the films they are self consciously imitating. There is no risk involved in copying a beloved classic and pumping hundreds of millions of dollars into the process. It's Mc Donald's on steroids where the main item on the menu is nostalgic childhood memories served a hundred million dollar facelift.
