This movie was really amazing in my point of view. Sure, people say they're disappointed, but that's only natural. I've never read a book that had a movie I was just as amazed at. Why that is is because we imagine all the scenes, characters and lines within the book in our own ways, making the sentences come alive as we read them. But each of our imagination is different, therefore, there is no real life human that could actually play Jace, or Clary or Alec or anyone else in the movie, for we'd imagined them all as the people they were, which even though fictional, they are characters in the end. So, my Jace and your Jace is different. So is my Clary and yours. And that's why no character could actually take place of them. This is a movie, and Jamie plays Jace, Lily plays Clary and honestly, I wouldn't change a thing because I think the movie is amazing the way it is. You're disappointed because you'd imagined it in a different way, but a movie could never bring out the true colors of a book, for our imagination and minds' complication can only be found in letters, not spoken or played. I love the Jace and Clary of the movie. I also prefer the visual aspects of the movie compared to the tv show, probably they had more budget? Idk. But there were really parts in the movie that wasn't in the book at all and they kind of screwed it up. The fact that Valentine really did took care of Jace before he was sent to the Institute was altered with Valentine saying that there's a block in Jace's mind that lets him forget who his father was. In the book, Jace believed that Valentine was Michael Wayland and in the movie, they immediately revealed that Jace was not Valentine's son. I think they kind of learnt their lesson for a bit and focused on tiny details in the tv show like making the vampires look the way they were described in the book. Because in the movie they were more like zombies XD And making Valentine look more descent than movie Valentine who looked like a gangster XD. I only loved Clary, Jace, Jocelyn, and Luke of The movie. I enjoyed both Simons and I prefer the rest of the characters from the tv show. I hope they made another City Of Bones movie ans stay true to the book uggggh

TMI, the series, has so much potential but they keep messing the story up. I don’t really like the show but the movie checks the vibe so much, even though it changes the story a bit. The show tries so hard to be cool and that’s not the vibe of the book. The dark aesthetic, the old money emo feels, the New York background, they’re very present in the movie. I believe they were well translated from the books. I wish they’d done City of Ashes as a sequel, but done a better job in the writing and marketing of the movie. Well, wishful thinking.

I wouldn't have any other person to play Jace, and even though you're right, some scenes disappointed me because I wanted them to be like they were in the book and I'd imagined them in a completely different way which made some scenes very different from my image, I still loved the movie a lot. Sure, they cut out some scenes and changed it but I wouldn't want it to be in any other way. I like Jace, I'd imagined him differently, but I like Jamie as the person that plays Jace, too. The reason why most of us are disappointed is because no book character could truly take a human form of its own, because they're already another form entirely, only, this form changes from imagination to imagination, making it impossible to ever be just an image. I imagined all the characters and places differently, but in the end, I liked how the movie turned out, heck, I loved it. The book is amazing in the book way it has, the movie is amazing because I'd love it even if I hadn't read the book.
And bbecause they cut off this scene they kinda failed with the first movie...This scene shows how arrogant and confident is Jace and he is the glamour of the books and movie. Tho Clary's face was priceless , something like "Easy lion. You're mine."
No! I was so angry both jace's where ugly. When I was reading the books I sorta imagined a cuter version of Sam Temple (Erich Hayes) from the GONE series (amazing book by the way).
