This was less than 2 weeks after the Moore EF5, and the area had been deluged with tornadoes recently. Further, this particular tornado was enormous and was accompanied by a load of satellites. Additionally, the nature of the storm, coupled with their use of "the Gentner," meant that their excitability was coming across unchecked. They deserve a break here.
Mike Morgan is far from the best meteorologist. James Spann, Gary England and several others are way better than him. Morgan literally told people to get out and go south during this storm. You NEVER do that nor ever tell people to get out of the way of a large tornado in a massive city that is in a tornado emergency.
