Started my truck career in sept 2016. I drive for swift. I’m 33. No kids, wife, mortgage or rent. I now lease through swift. I’m doing aight. I’m just glad to be out the hood in Chicago.
I'm actually with Schneider and I'm 22 years old and I started about 10 months ago and so far I've saved up $23,000 I don't get where you're only putting $100 away you should be putting around 800 to 1000 away if you don't have any bills to pay
Douglas Mccarthy I’m 22 and I want to start this shit get a ball going on it , how do I get into shneider ? I got call from CR England but they pay really low and I am not going for $10 a hour. Any advice ?
He's saying at least that into savings/week. (But the rest is sitting in checking, so if you're responsible and not hemorrhaging out your checking balance, you'll have more.)
Please please if you're serious about getting into trucking take in what trucker brown just said imma make a long story short I was 21 yesterday now I'm 31 I just got my cdl take advantage y'all take advantage do your self a favor handle your business now
Yeah man, same story here. Started at 31 and wished I had started at 21. This beats the pants off of being in a dead end job designed to make a few at the top rich.
wish someone gave me this GAME at 21yrs old. man I would be a millionaire 12x over. but I'm still ok. this is the same advise I'm trying to give young brothers today, some are so scared to leave the city. it's money on this road, that truck can be your office. I've taken care of 6 kids and 2 wife's, lmao . you younger cats learn, listen, and don't make are mistakes. but understand frieght is getting good. me and my brother just bought 2 homes on an acre. I'm getting back on the road, gonna make. 8 to 10g in 30days.. company driving. gonna save half of that for 6months buy another rig. don't get involved in all this emotional political b.s. right now, get your money. Great video, you young brothers have pumped me back up to hit that road again!! been watching these for a couple months now.
right now i'm 20 years old, and this November i'll be 21 years old. no kid, no girl, no rent, still living with parents, and no car. my uncle got me interested in trucking. So what your telling me makes alot of sense, i'm going to list what i'm going to do NOTE: this is selfish of me. 1. get my cdl license through a trucking company, and get my 200+ hours with a trainer 2. i'm going to be gone for months, so no rent and car payments are out of the question 3. direct deposit will keep saving me money for each weekend i get paid, and when that money reaches the target amount in my account i'll transfer that over to my savings account and leave it there. 4. i'll stay with my parents as much as i can, until they get tired of me. 5. I pay for a storage space, and go to a motel to stay until my next haul. 6. repeat step 3 over time, and repeat step 5 until i feel comfortable with the amount of money i'll have and decide to retire and spoil myself until i die. My plan, sounds like make believe but i believe i can do it.
You guys need to educate your sons and they’ll get 6 figures with dignity. Not saying trucking isn’t, but help your children achieve more than you did.
Happy Emoji she could be talking about how to save money not really about the trucking side of thing you can’t take the principals he’s saying and implement them in other life things that’s what gems are
I'm 36, have a truck with my own numbers. Got my CDL around 6 months after turning 21. This is the, and I mean *the* best beginner driver/ 21year old advice I have seen on TH-cam.
$100 is nothing. I don't know how you could get say $700 a week on average and find a way to spend $600 unless you love Truck Stop food or lot lizards. I keep $150 a week for general expenses and have a cell phone bill, spotify, , etc. I rarely add less than $200 a week into savings.
Im in my mid 30s and looking to change careers to trucking. You're videos will save me years of heartache with the knowledge you're putting out there. Thank you.
Trucker Brown I do have to tell you I hope I meet you one day and just let you know in person that you are the main reason why I got into Trucking I just want to say thank you
I'm 27, just got in the game. Don't have any kids or ties, I'm not gonna lie, I want to get a car that I want. Awesome info man, look forward to these videos and advise
You won me over on this video and all your great advice!! Just wish i had some one school me back in 2007 when i first started trucking. Keep up the good work BRUH!!!!
Heavily considering starting a career in trucking I’ve searching TH-cam up and down the past couple days finding information about the trucking industry/lifestyle and I can say this is by far the most helpful and informative video I’ve watched yet I made 21 in January no kids ,ole lady , car note or any other major bill besides car insurance I’ll continue to watch all of your videos bc the knowledge is by far the realist appreciate you bro you’ve helped me out a lot 💯 💪
I save 10,000 in 3 months as an otr. I'm thinking bout lease operating a truck in 6 months. Better yet I'm thinking Bout buying a dually and trailer beginning of the year... Got to figure out the loads though
My favorite part of your video is that you’re speaking the TRUEST SHIT! Thank you for educating people with the truth on ALOT of topics!!!! Keep posting!!! We’ll keep watching!!!!
Trucker Brown, I really, really, appreciate the strategy and mindset. Man! I wish someone would have persuade me to do trucking when I was younger. I will be getting into trucking later in the game, I am 47 but you better believe that I will be like that 21 year old that is single not renting and having a strategy with my finances. I am truly grateful and inspired by your insight and advice. Thank you My brother. Hopefully I can run into you one day while out in the field to thank you personally.
Good on you bro! I'm not a trucker, and I don't know why I find myself watching your video. I've watched quite a few. I'm always struck by how real you are. I was fortunate to have a few people in my life that gave me talks like yours. A lot of people don't, and you are giving them an amazing gift. You are helping to raise them, figuratively like a big brother, but also literally in real life. You are raising them up by giving them a helping hand. You have done something that will help people for who knows how long, because it will live on the web, even after you are long gone.
Had a question for you. Have you looked into areas to buy homes and if so what areas have you found that work well with trucking and the cost of the home?
Just found your channel a few days ago, and really appreciate the videos. I don't drive a truck - but the observations and life advice are so good. Thank you for sharing!
I’m starting orientation April 22 after 1.5 years of saving and hard work it’s been hard things are going up and I didn’t have a lot of work in construction hopefully it gets better
Trucking is probably the only career that you can literally make a million dollars in 10 years in your 40's depending on if you have child support and home bills
I’m 44 but I’m in the same situation as the 21 year olds you are speaking to as far as no kids, no wife etc. I’m thinking about getting into trucking. What do you think? I’ve already got a decent bank account built up along with a retirement account from my current job. Im just wanting a career change and I think trucking is something I would like.
Im 26 and been driving for a while. Its not a bad career. It can be lots of fun. Depending on who your with you can run all 48 states, and all be home regularly. I usually travel all 48 states in the summer and stay local in fall through winter. Theres a lot of options out there for you. Just stay away from truck stop food and try to cook in the truck. Definatly get rid of the bills you dont need while traveling. Itll help you a lot. Good luck
You are very wise...I know a guy that has been trucking for over 15 years and I have been telling him what you said about saving money and instead he had 3 car payments a house he was renting and he was behind on his taxes so he was scared to put his money in the bank because he thought he would get garnished...What is the point in getting a check if as soon as you get it it goes directly to bills and you're not even home but for a couple days a week
I'm 24. Paying child support. Just lost my temp job. Its something I thought about doing but I finally went through with it. So, I applied for C.R England online yesterday and I start school next week. Being that I'm a temp and paying child support I make less than $300 a week. I get paid $260. $90 for permit and license fee. I'm only 2 hrs away from the school so I'm gonna drive. So gotta pay gas and go to dollar tree for food. I'm actually homeless and sleeping in my ranger. So, theres that haha. I'm flexible with my sleep schedule. I only need 5 hrs to sleep. Depending on how I play it. I can stay up for 35 hrs at least once a week. I got faith and its amazing its weekly pay!!
Straight tip on that IRA. After the multiple videos you have made, and cracked me up, this tip just did the final push that got me to subscribe. Keep them coming TB.
Having kids ain’t that bad as it seems. I have 3 kids a house and 2bms. Long as you have a good relationship with your bms that’s all that matters. I served 10yrs in the military and getting into the trucking game at 36. I’m still young, plus I already have an income for life. I’ll be retired before I’m 50 and my kids will be grown 👑
Having kids IS as bad as it seems. Its an 18 year old bill that keeps increasing every year. There are so many people that have quit pursuing their goals and dreams because they chose to have kids and end up living paycheck to paycheck. "Money doesn't buy happiness but being broke doesn't buy anything".
@@John_R_Jackson_III Clearly that’s not my situation. They don’t ask me for shit. I send my money (not on CS) see my kids whenever I want. Hell I even stay in my BM house when I come out there. I never had issues with these women after our relationship.
Thank-You for sharing the great advise... I will use it wisely as I slowly build my way as an owner-operator once I get the custom truck built I am doing myself, I am in my mid 40’s and am looking forward to a new career after more than a decade as a Kung-fu & Tai-Chi instructor.
This is real talk bad my CDL A since I graduated at 18 worked local till now being 3 weeks from 21 and plan on goin OTR no attachments nothing just a car to get from A to B and a dog tried the relationship and house but I seen how that is and it’s just to impractical ....
REAL TALK some people want advice you LITERALLY just told them what to do! I hope people listen. You will love on the truck and be comfortable outside of that bills are just eating money you won't use anything at home but 3 days out a month? Chick wise It's cheaper not to meet her lbs. In any female situation your money is going to that woman whether it's taking care of your family, bills, kids, child support or alimony regardless your a slave in some way your bring extorted. Me I came in to make more for my family I had already. But I know this is true trust him
Everything you said is true. And those numbers are minimal for an example. I suggest at 21yrs old. Split your check 50%(savings/ IRA)and 50% active checking. And watch those stacks builds💚 I love this video..
Thank you! Great advice!! I don't have kids, a car note, and my mortgage is CHEAP. So I'm really going to save money. And yep, I have a mortgage because I have a ranch for my horse! So that's my biggest expenditure (mortgage + care/food for the horse is about $500/month). I have no credit either... So I'm going to get a cc and keep a small amount on there (20%). Thanks for the advice!
Sounds like the plan I had in 1996 , when I got into trucking. I was 35,single ,put my stuff in storage, hit the road. I did it for about 9 years.I will be honest ,I hated some things about trucking .I hated all the wasted time and not getting paid for it ,but I did it as long as I could.I saved up a lot of money. I quit trucking in 2005. In 2006 ,I bought a house and paid cash for it.I went back to my old job doing electrical work.I"m 56 now and I just work part-time , some-time. I dont have to work full-time ,cause I dont have many bills and I invested my money wisely .Also ,I went MGTOW many years ago,but that is a whole nother story.
Thomas Brown So the government will take your stuff after you die instead of your children. MGTOW’s are angry men that don’t have the personality to live with a female partner. At least you should’ve had a child that takes your genes and you call him a “son” than being an MGTOW. Now you don’t have another choice than being MGTOW because no young woman will want a 56 year old MGTOW and 56 year old females can’t give birth.
You think a well of man of 56 cant pull a 33yo broad, with no kids? 33yo woman who waited, has a head on her shoulders, and wants a secure man for her kids. Are you 19? 56 aint a sucked up old man.
I did, about 10 years ago. We still got no kids, she is still thin, and a knockout. Small, dark brown, cleans constantly, and puts up with way too much of my bullshit. Girl loves me. I will say, she did not hop in the sack with me, till we married, but it was well worth it. And aint no other man been with my wife. American/Western girls, aint where its at, for me. Quick nuts mabey, most are not marriage material.
Pete Haselden Oh did you marry an Asian girl? Asian/Middle Eastern girls are taught in an early age that they need to be submissive and cook/clean for their husbands and never get divorced no matter what the husband does to them. Anyways good luck with your wife and don’t be abusive especially when you know American/western women wouldn’t put up with such treatment.
Excellent videos brother. Can you do a video on what it takes from the start to become an American truck driver and the different classes of American trucks ? Trucker from England
What about me? I have a wife and twins I’m 21 now getting into trucking in the next couple of months. I plan flat bed with my best friend I currently work for family drive flat bed and goose necks 1ton load my self unload my self everyday 5 am 7 pm I average 2000 every two weeks I plan on 48 non stop for a year I’ve been married for 3 years my wife and I have spoke and is okay with. I travel a lot with my current job as well Trucking is going to be my career
Im 30 ,no wife , no kids. Thinking abt getting my cdl. Alears have near 115k saved from my 20s. Just tire of grinding the 9-5 on a factory. Thinking abt switching to something else.
To apply for anything you most likely need a "permanent" or "physical" address on your applications. "Your home has to be somewhere" "You have to be physically located somewhere"--clerks/office agents say. Most lawful businesses like for example, your local State Department of Motor Vehicles won't accept a P.O. Box nor storage business addresses on your CDL as a permanent address; (I know from my own experience); and if you borrow anyone else's address in another state for a physical address; you have to change your license to the state the address is from, and pay some way to the "address lender" -Yours Truly, for the same reason. (Nothing is for free) So, how can you technically escape not paying rent if you live on your own account, (the what you stated in your vlog), and need a permanent physical address, Trucker Brown or CDL holders?
This been my exact mindset without no one telling me cause this what I want to do. Hell yea but I’m saving all my money into savings! Only need to pay food & home bills and everything else davings
I actually got out of the Navy at the age of 21 (went in at 17). I had thought of driving a truck after about a year. Then some of that shit you talk about hit me like a ton of bricks. You should have gone back in time to tell me this shit earlier ;-))! Oh well, kids are grown and on their own. So, That's some good advice and thanks for the advice even though it's about 30 years too late. Be safe out there, there are some idiots on the road. ;-).
Just got my CDL. I’m loading semis on a forklift. My boss accepted my request to apply for a trucking position. I was told that they will ease me in to position slowly. I choose to stay with company because they were honest compared to Schneider’s,Werner’s and etc of the world. Should I have jumped head 1st into driving or work my way up? Thanks for videos
Great vid . I wish I started at 21 and started a business as a owner operator by 24. I’m now 27 just getting my class A. I would be sitting nice rite now stacked up.
I eat out of the truck and save lots of money. I only got a car because i usually run regional home daily. But if i do decide to go otr i get rid of the house and everything till i decide to get out and be home more often. OTR was never really my thing but if its something you like id definatly say you listen to this guy. Lots of people out here are broke.

Devin Brown good luck man! Keep your head up and stay blessed

The best advice for young truckers
A yo trucker brown u give the most accurate advice!
I never had issues with these women after our relationship.
man....this will get you out of the rate race for sure.
Bro this is the REALEST VIDEO EVER 💯💯
Great advice! I appreciate your simple presentation of quality information.
But I know this is true trust him
Dropping All Kinzzz pf precious Mental Jewels. T Brown we thank You..
I JUST GOT MY CDL LAST MONTH. STILL DOING TRAINING FOR THIS COMPANY IM ABOUT TO WORK FOR. THNKS FOR THE TIPS !!!
How’s it going so far??
Mcfeelster awesome!!
Jaime Campa that’s dope!! Hope you go far in life with it brotha✊🏽
Pete Haselden Well good luck if you can find a female that don’t have a child by 33. All females think about racing the “clock.”
Thanks I like this. Looking to start at 25
When you're a woman watching this video lol
On point, new people listen up. Give it two winters before you move on. Or, if they treat you well, stay.
I wish I heard this 10yrs ago! His not lying.

Thanks for your financial knowledge. Your a provider, respects!
I swear I was trying to find the negatives in having a Home-car-Family... at 11:20 I was screaming “make it sound bad please”
Be safe out there, there are some idiots on the road. ;-).
great advise TB,,awesome video,,thumbs up dude.
sounds like a amazing plan. i'm 23, starting school in a couple weeks
This is when you meet your trucking buddies in Vegas. Do what ever you wanna do... DON"T GET NO ONE PREGNANT! DON"T GET NO ONE PREGANT...
Dude. I absolutely love this video. Sharing it
I appreciate this.
Man. Solid advice for the younger crowd. Heed this mans words.

Good advice. Thank you.
