Stick to what you know. Thiago Silva? That's just idiotic, Brasil has had amazing center backs through history. Djalma Santos, Domingos da Guia, Nilton Santos, Ricardo Rocha, Aldair, Mauro Galvão... And that's not even close to each and everyone of them. There's Zico, Rivellino, Gerson, Romário, Falcão, Nilton Santos, Carlos Alberto Torres, Rivaldo, Júnior. Brasil produced the best players in the world for a long time and this list doesn't come close to paying respect to our vast list of greatest players.
No, I didn't. Both are fucking right, genius. As Inglaterra and England, Itália and Italy, Alemanha and Germany, or TomoCooking and Ignorante are all the fucking same.
Thiago Silva on this Greatest XI is a very bad humour joke. He may be good, but not even one of the best 5 brazilian centre-backs. Lucio is better than him, but still wouldn't be on the starting lilne up of a Brazilian Dream Team. Football Daily was lazy to research for other defenders.
Choose yourself: 1994 WC Champion Aldair, 1952 and 1962 WC Champions Mauro and Bellini, legend Domingos da Guia, who is in fact the best brazillian defender ever. For the sidebacks, ok, it's their choice, Cafu and Roberto Carlos are undoubtedly one of the best sidebacks ever. But there were other options aswell, such as 58 and 62 WC Champion Djalma Santos or 70 WC Champion Carlos Alberto Torres for the right-back, or 58 and 62 WC Champion Nilton Santos or Junior for the left-back. Thankfully they didn't miss out Sócrates. Do you need more options?
+Giovanni Sanfilippo I just wanted to see what you thought. I personally hold Thiago Silva in high regard, as do many other legends in the game (most notably Franco Baresi, who believes Thiago Silva to be his spiritual successor). I'd personally put Thiago Silva in my Brazil XI, but there are other choices worth mentioning. Nice to see someone who is educated about the history of the game though. However, I must disagree with your point about Roberto Carlos being a good left-back. I believe Roberto Carlos to be the most overrated player of all time; his defending was usually average and his attacking contributions were found wanting more often than not (and he wasn't that great at freekicks either, he rarely scored them). Carlos was lucky that he was strong and fast, because he wasn't a tactically astute player for the most part. He lucked out in that he was able to play in teams where better defenders picked up the slack or dominant teams that didn't have to defend much.
Colton Ragsdale Good to see you wasn't just picking on and I'm sorry if my last comment was a bit too tough. I personally didn't watch much of Roberto Carlos, I was still a kid on 2002, when I think he was at his best, during the World Cup, so I can't exactly argue about him. I'd choose Nilton Santos instead of him, because in this case NS is an hors concours. RC was indeed lucky to have played along strong defense lines on Inter, Real Madrid and Brazil, but I still think he has merits.
+Giovanni Sanfilippo Roberto Carlos had a strong leg and a lot of speed, and his ground passing was good. I can't give him much more than that though, most football intellectuals believe him to be thoroughly discredited. Not to take anything away from him, it takes talent to haul in all of those trophies he's won! That being said, I think Nilton Santos deserved that spot from Roberto Carlos. And I was picking on you (always fun to do that on TH-cam with the ridiculous things people say and think), but you apparently have a great deal of knowledge about Brazilian football, so my apologies there. Nice to read comments from someone on TH-cam who actually knows what they're talking about! Props to you, mate.

I am Brazilian, and I think the only changes you should make are: Zico - Socrates. Even thought Socrates was amazing, Zico was just an absolute genius, a great playmaker and the best freekick taker in football history. And Marcos - Taffarel. Marcos was a genious and the best goalkeeper i have ever seen. He conceeded only twice in the 2002 World Cup, stopping completely all Germany's attacks in the final. He also won the Copa Libertadores for his club, Palmeiras, and helped the team to build it's history (it's the biggest brazilian champion, with 9 titles). Another fact: Pele, the best player in football history, wasn't a striker like most people think. He was actually a centre attaking midfilder. People think he's a striker because of his insane goalscoring record.
That is one hell of a team! And to think, you'd probably have Romario, Rivaldo, Rivelino, Dunga, Carlos Alberto, and Zico on the bench! Amazing selection.

No Ronaldinho?
Stick to what you know. Thiago Silva? That's just idiotic, Brasil has had amazing center backs through history. Djalma Santos, Domingos da Guia, Nilton Santos, Ricardo Rocha, Aldair, Mauro Galvão... And that's not even close to each and everyone of them. There's Zico, Rivellino, Gerson, Romário, Falcão, Nilton Santos, Carlos Alberto Torres, Rivaldo, Júnior. Brasil produced the best players in the world for a long time and this list doesn't come close to paying respect to our vast list of greatest players.
u spelt brazil wrong
No, I didn't. Both are fucking right, genius. As Inglaterra and England, Itália and Italy, Alemanha and Germany, or TomoCooking and Ignorante are all the fucking same.
its not, watch your language, plus italia, wtf is that people dont say italia, and are you mad bro?
ITS FUCKING DEUTSCHLAND FOR GERMANS AND GERMANY IN ENGLISH. IGNORANT FUCK.

Neymar
Thiago Silva on this Greatest XI is a very bad humour joke. He may be good, but not even one of the best 5 brazilian centre-backs. Lucio is better than him, but still wouldn't be on the starting lilne up of a Brazilian Dream Team. Football Daily was lazy to research for other defenders.
Then who do you recommend, seeing as you were too lazy to list anybody to replace him?

From that team, I'd only consider Zico.

Centerbacks: Thiago Silva, Djalma Santos
Right back: Dani Alves
Left back: Roberto Carlos
Center midfielders: Gérson, Zico.
Attacking midfielder: Pelé

Striker: Ronaldo Nazario
Left wing: Ronaldinho/Neymar (I don't really know which of the two)
I like how nobody mentions Neymar...
+Canal TheBlacklick One day they might...
+Canal TheBlacklick Neymar does not play constantly good enough to make the list. Neymar is today in the same "2nd team list" as Kaka, Adriano and Robinho
+Clovis Fritzen kaka? really man i understand the other 2 players you named but kaka is one of brazil greats like the rest of them .played with great teams like madrid and really showed talent in milan
Neymar has already scored 69 goals for Brazil and he is 23
Diego Amaral Neymar is favourite player but he doesn't come close to anyone in this list
And Obina?? Obina is better than Etoo!!!
+Oscar Netto hahahahahahaha BR is foda...

Roberto Carlos should be there
Ronaldo made me a brazil fan... 🇧🇷😍👏
Cafu played 4 WC!
his last one he was still brazil nr 1 RB at 36y old and attended the semi final against france. If it wasnt for roberto carlos he could have played 4 WC finals... Absolutely the nr 1 RB ever.
Thiago Silva?
He's great defender
good defender, but not the best of all time
yup..very debatable..
he's the best of today's generation
David Luiz is better than Thiago Silva
Mexico's top 11
Nahh
That's easy
Nah

Fuck Mexico
Zico, Rivelinho, Rivaldo, KaKa theyr't better than like Sokratis!
No...zico is only better...and rivellino ,kaka close...not rivaldo
Not in the midfield
Zico should be in the squad over ronaldinho not socrates
All players mentioned are, indeed, above Sócrates -- except for Kaka.
(Brazilian here)
thats just disrespectful to socrates, only zico is better

Zico was the 2nd best Brazilian player ever... he could replace anybody except Pele.
ZICO IS FRENCH YOU IDIOT
Zango Ultra LOL He Was Brazilian U IDIOT
I switch Jairzinho and include Zico
I switch Tafarel for Gilmar
Glaquerf Exactly!!!
Zico was a midfielder tho, not a winger. Also I agree Gilmar is such an underrated keeper because of the fact he played long ago.
how can you forget Rivaldo ?
For?
who would you take out for rivaldo?
Because they are better than Rivaldo.

Roberto Carlos's Free kicks are insane
I was born in 87. The best 4-4-2 team considering the ones I saw would be:
1 - Marcos
2 - Cafu
3 - Lucio (this position is tough, could be another maybe)
4 - Juan
6 - Roberto Carlos
5 - Zé Roberto
7 - Elano (tough too, but Elano was amazing in 2010)
8 - Kaká
10 - Gaúcho
9 - Ronaldo
11 - Romário
bench: Dida - Dani Alves - Aldair - Thiago Silva - Marcelo - Edmilson (maybe Dunga?) - Kleberson - Alex, the injusticed- Rivaldo - Neymar - Adriano
Cafu played in four world cups, not 3
I would replace Ronaldo with Romario after a lot of thinking who woukd be better
+GameSpacePN That's fair enough, but why?
Ronaldo is arguably one of the greatest strikers of all time. Much better than Romario in my opinion
+GameSpacePN I'd put both of them. Romario was the best striker, but Ronaldo is Ronaldo.
Football Daily Both of them are legends, but i think Romario would work better with Pele than Ronaldo. Both of them was known from goalscoring (maybe only for me) so Romario would be better teammate for Pele. This duo would destroy every opponent.
Ronaldo and Romario played together for some time, and I think they did good. Both of them also played in lots of different clubs and teammates, and they were always better than most, so I think they could partnered up with anyone. Intelligent players.
Never seen Pele played, just know some facts on he being one of the best of all time, so anyone would include him in any team probably.

Ummmmm..... ZICO!
Zico, Falcão, Flamengo left-back Junior, Romário?, Thiago Silva and Lúcio no no, in the Seleção all CB from 94 and 98 are better (subs included). Sócrates?? Are you serious!? What has Sócrates won his entire career? He won NOTHING at international level, for Brazil, and practically NOTHING at club level, for Corinthians.
The guy gets more credit for his political activities than for the football itself. There is absolutely NO WAY that you can leave out players like ZICO, RIVELLINO or RIVALDO for Sócrates.
Yes, the press like Sócrates because his political activities
Shinobi Moondog I hear you but Socrates is still great. Those players that you mentioned are great too.
Kaka

KungFuCol
Tafarel? Lúcio? Thiago Silva? Where is Nilton Santos, Zico, Rivelino? Sócrates as a back midfielder? Jairzinho as midfielder? Garrincha on left side?

Pelé,garrincha,zico,Reinaldo,tostão,Joãozinho,Dirceu López,nelhinho,Roberto Carlos,Ronaldo,Rivaldo,Ronaldinho,Romário,Adriano,Kaká,cafu,Dener,falcao.......Brasil infinit legends!

of the four world cups he played , he won half
A one runner.
spot on! On the bench, Romario, Zico, Dida, Bebeto, Rivaldo, Adriano, Kaka and Marcelo
That is one hell of a team! And to think, you'd probably have Romario, Rivaldo, Rivelino, Dunga, Carlos Alberto, and Zico on the bench! Amazing selection.
When Pele was on the field , every one in the audience even the opposing team fans, I can still hear ....... Pele...Pele...Pele...Pele...Pele and it goes on and on and on for a player who did not have modern training facility when soccer rules did not protect players like now.
