It's absolutely insane that a single patch (1.3) brought us "An Unfinished Song", "On The Soul / De Anima", "Astrum Unicum" and "The Beginning Of Our Story", with this latter one being my favorite piece of music from the last few years. As a PGR and WuWa player, you'll learn not to doubt Kuro when they fire on all cylinders.

Unfinished song was a very nice way for the devs to connect with the community. Not just a normal song to be used as a cover but also letting them write their own lyrics and interpretations in response to the singer's lyrics. Its beautiful.

I'm FINALLY seeing the era in which people are stopping to put Vanguard on a pedestal while badmouthing Kuro's in-house studio, it has been painful and slow but it's way better now. While I think collab with other music studios like GhostFinal (aka GOATfinal), Vanguard and Adam Gubman is good, I also think it's good for them to have their own independence for music. I have been proud of Kuro's job with their in-house music since I heard "Out of my hands" from PGR, and now that I see more people recognizing them I feel better for them. I never doubted them. I hope they continue on this path with both PGR, WuWa and their future games.
Yeah Vanguard is great but Kuro can't depend on them for everything and their in-house composers have always shown they're capable with the PGR patch trailer themes, there's Out of my Hands like you mentioned but also some other good ones like Iridescent Cloud, Frost and Lightning, Wheel of Fortune and Nocturnal Demise. Not to mention their other collaborations with non Vanguard composers like the PGR character impression songs (Selena Capriccio one is amazing, her CN VA did an amazing job singing on that) and the Cerberus single.
Fun fact, there is currently an on-going community event where you have to finish the second half of the song! There're already multiple works from the community!
I was personally never disappointed, Marco. yes some things weren't quite up to scratch before, no doubt, but they have shown us their willingness to listen to us, to improve and move forward in making this game something that we as players can enjoy, because that is what the game is for. My previous experience with... another game over the course of four years certainly did disappoint, constantly, they had brilliant material to work with and despite this, these other people did not listen and did not care. So there was the great contrast in my experience... I think Kuro deserves support, as does anyone who actively listens and improves, I've been supporting them with what little I have and I am looking forward to what they make with that and everyone else's support. I've seen little bits of future works (That I maybe shouldn't have) and I was wowed, I really do think it will get a lot better.
The obvious impulse to improve and at such a rapid pace is what's surprising in a world of stagnation and formula. Competition is a great thing and Kuro is rising to the task in every department love to see it.
From what I've even heard after surpassing our expectations so far they have some crazy Qol planned from 2.0 onwards. Amd I've heard a LOT of people saying that they feel guilty not spending or feel happy spending money on this game, just shows how much the devs are loved by the community too.
the problem with wuwa.. is that, its getting better and better, and there will be a limit, and as soon as they reach that limit, and just can't get any better. people will start to cry about it, you can bet your life on it XD

I'm not playing pgr but it made me curious what the devs can do so i searched for videos of it. I was surprised that for a small revenue game and even one that is restricted by the old game engine, they could do so much already and still improving. This made me think that the devs will go all out with whatever they can to keep improving specially now they have budget and a good engine. At this point, the only thing they refuse to do is go big in marketing :)) but shouldnt be a problem as long as quality is being delivered.

I'm glad you've continued to give this game a chance. It's currently my favorite gacha game and man, the music has been incredible this entire patch, I hope the game carries on this momentum in its improvement in music!
I would say that they wanted to capture the Rover with the music. In 1.0 Rover was a blank canvas, knew nothing, had no direction. With each patch we discover more of the world and about the Rover so the music is picking up the pace as Rover find the lost motivation.

WuWa is definitely doing something special with their music, I just think they need to work on their battle music a bit more. Only thing recognizable to me is the Dreamless one.

An Unfinished Song hits a lot harder when you finished the story. I am so glad I came back to this after seeing Shorekeepers design. I said this under another video but I quit short after launch because it just didnt catch me but I caught up now and I gotta say I REALLY enjoy it.
This is really what I feel about Kuro. They seem to genuinely love and care about their players. This is why I never regret spending my money on Wuthering Wave. All the money they receive is used to make the game better and better with each patch.

1.0 was disappointing because of optimization and half the English VAs. People don't understand Story is not Acting. Bad acting can ruin a story. The story was better than most even in 1.0. 1.1-1.3 story has been great.

@@OgZz73 Black shores is a prologue to the main story. Jue said it was the place our journey began. It was more about connecting Rover to this world than about the world itself. And the anchor that connected rover was none other than Shorekeeper. She is the only friend of Rover(past) still in this world. That's why Rover almost killed themselves to save her.
The comment about how breathyness shows humanity is actually so key for this patch too because of the story of the Shorekeeper herself. Its such a magnificent tie in to the tragedy of this character that was created as a tool and after all this time grows into something alive. The humanity you hear in this song really acts as a compliment to the lyrics in the song which tell her whole complex history. The absolute humanity of these feelings of anxiety and despiration leading to that end which is such a hopeful end. Fantastic song. Fantastic character
The theme for the Black Shore reminds me of the theme used in one of the end game zone in Xenovlade Chronicles 2, very "you're in the end game now" vibes despite technically being a "side area"
The music in WUWA's 1.1 and 1.3 major version updates has one or two theme melodies. All the music will also expand or merge based on the main theme. And these melodies are very simple but beautiful and elegant. I like them very much.
Crazy how you say "This is... Not so good" and the devs say "Ok, let's make it good then", even for the f*cking music. All of the soundtracks in 1.3, including these on yt are so beautiful

Is just like music there are verse , chorus and bridge. 1.0 to 1.2 is like verse, and 1.3 is like chorus. We can't say a song is bad because the verse doesn't resonate with us . This is pretty much like the gameplay, too. There are tempo and rhythm to defeat the monster. If you see the charging bar of each character, it is their piece of music. Each Arc is an ablum.
During 1.0, I can't remember any of the ost of Wuwa, all the background music is kinda noisy to me, most of the time I just mute the bgm and listen to spotify, But 1.3 definitly improved a bit, but still feels generic to me, but I feel they can surely do better.
First time i saw this game , the character design impress me , Yijan and Yinlin omg they are so beautiful. Dev listen is what i heard about the kuro game and they prove it ,every patch is getting better and better😍

I love how the second half of the song has no lyrics. Really harps on the "Unfinished" part. Like there's more to be said but it either isn't the time or maybe there just aren't words for it yet. Freakin love it.

Kurogame music rn already got lesson from Vanguard sound, Vanguard sound still with Kurogames but not gonna make music for Wuwa. Vanguard teach Kurogames how to play and make a music and here we are, we got an amazing music from 1.1 until 1.3
After playing through 1.0 when people bashing the game for it quality ( which I agree it was bad ). But seen how the dev response and constantly patching it every few days at that time, I just knew that the game will constantly improve and moving up a great step. It seems I was right, the recent patch has been amazing experience.
Kuro Games. They will never give up to meet everyone's expectations. They already shattered mines because it's already off the charts that I decided to play as Inferno Rider himself.

damn I really have to revisit the game. I was disappointed with the release back then, especially because having really high expectations after punishing gray raven. I did not enjoy 1.0 but everything I see nowadays looks SO much better and interesting, I really start to get why people love the company so much. Now that even the music is Marco-certified, I am really looking forward to see what the newer versions brought to the game. Edit: Damn that beautifull character called shorekeeper is gone today, fml xD
If there's one thing in life I learned about disappointment, it's that we have high expectations based on first impressions. Always keep your expectations low as it can affect how you view something/someone from that point onward, especially when it disappoints. I understand having standards and quality is very important and that first impressions can last, but that can cause us to overlook a potential for something great. I know I did with PGR and now I just finished reading Chapter 13 afters years it was released because I felt disappointed with PGR too on its launch. Kurogames, however, is a game company that strives to improve their products and with PGR I can see how the quality of the game's writing and QOL vastly differred from when it launched and I'm so mad I missed out on this progression. With Wuthering Waves I can finally see that slow growth that PGR went through as well and all I can say is that wait is so worth it.
I love the game but I really dislike that most good content creators for WuWa are Genshin haters. I take both games for what they are and what they can offer.
Could you blame them for that though? One small wuwa CC I followed didn't use to hate Genshin, and he averaged 200-900 views per vid. One "comparison vid" later, 12K views in less than 12 hours 🗿. That is more than twice his initial *total views.* These CCs are just trying to make ends meet, it's not their fault
Haven't played this game myself. But the music sounds absolutely gorgeous. And maybe I'll try this game in the future? Am trying to broaden my taste in games. Because I've been glued to First Person Shooters and Sonic the Hedgehog. It's time to try new things, and have fun doing it. 🎮

Started the game 2 weeks ago with much skepticism and was instantly hooked. It's like Genshin but more fun and interesting to me in so many ways. (I still like Genshin no hate pls)
4 versions in and Haloweak - Flow is still above everything WuWa's own music department put out, they should have left Vanguard to do their thing, can't imagine how many bangers we would had by now....
same here, stop playing one week after the release of GI. I played almost full day when the release to explore reaching AR 30 but then i realize its not for me since i was fan of Nier Automata combat.
I personally am not too fond of the breathiness in the official ENG version of the Unfinished Song. It brings too much emotion to what in my vision needs more fragility and slightly cracked, but lovingly mended perfection. A tremble in a perfectly delivered soft voice would feel much better, in my personal opinion. The Japanese version delivered it nicely, and out of the ENG covers, Lime's feels also extremely close to my vision.
The Shorekeeper aspires to be human, not yet having become one. She wasn't broken and had to rebuild herself; she is growing incrementally, with each step, slowly discovering more and having time to figure out each feeling she finds out within, and give it a name. Yet, she is not human yet. So, there must be an underlying current of humanity inside, with emotions, but she does not push the lyrics out through the overwhelming feelings-she gently speaks about the truths she learned with you, the Rover, and contemplates her feelings in resolute peace. But that's just my own vision and ruminations, perhaps to justify my bias towards the JP voice acting of the game.

1.0 to 1.2 is like verse, and 1.3 is like chorus. We can't say a song is bad because the verse doesn't resonate with us . This is pretty much like the gameplay, too. There are tempo and rhythm to defeat the monster. If you see the charging bar of each character, it is their piece of music. Each Arc is an ablum.
Im glad kuro is improving, and no longer dissapointing for Marco, I can't wait to see how Kuro cooks, I always have faith in them since PGR
During 1.0, I can't remember any of the ost of Wuwa, all the background music is kinda noisy to me, most of the time I just mute the bgm and listen to spotify, But 1.3 definitly improved a bit, but still feels generic to me, but I feel they can surely do better.
First time i saw this game , the character design impress me , Yijan and Yinlin omg they are so beautiful. Dev listen is what i heard about the kuro game and they prove it ,every patch is getting better and better😍

I love how the second half of the song has no lyrics. Really harps on the "Unfinished" part. Like there's more to be said but it either isn't the time or maybe there just aren't words for it yet. Freakin love it.

Kurogame music rn already got lesson from Vanguard sound, Vanguard sound still with Kurogames but not gonna make music for Wuwa. Vanguard teach Kurogames how to play and make a music and here we are, we got an amazing music from 1.1 until 1.3
You can see the progression and I love that you can feel the effort they put into making this game better.
After playing through 1.0 when people bashing the game for it quality ( which I agree it was bad ). But seen how the dev response and constantly patching it every few days at that time, I just knew that the game will constantly improve and moving up a great step. It seems I was right, the recent patch has been amazing experience.

damn I really have to revisit the game. I was disappointed with the release back then, especially because having really high expectations after punishing gray raven. I did not enjoy 1.0 but everything I see nowadays looks SO much better and interesting, I really start to get why people love the company so much. Now that even the music is Marco-certified, I am really looking forward to see what the newer versions brought to the game.

If there's one thing in life I learned about disappointment, it's that we have high expectations based on first impressions. Always keep your expectations low as it can affect how you view something/someone from that point onward, especially when it disappoints. I understand having standards and quality is very important and that first impressions can last, but that can cause us to overlook a potential for something great. I know I did with PGR and now I just finished reading Chapter 13 afters years it was released because I felt disappointed with PGR too on its launch. Kurogames, however, is a game company that strives to improve their products and with PGR I can see how the quality of the game's writing and QOL vastly differred from when it launched and I'm so mad I missed out on this progression. With Wuthering Waves I can finally see that slow growth that PGR went through as well and all I can say is that wait is so worth it.
I love the game but I really dislike that most good content creators for WuWa are Genshin haters. I take both games for what they are and what they can offer.

React to Natlan's "No One Fights Alone" OST
I personally am not too fond of the breathiness in the official ENG version of the Unfinished Song. It brings too much emotion to what in my vision needs more fragility and slightly cracked, but lovingly mended perfection. A tremble in a perfectly delivered soft voice would feel much better, in my personal opinion. The Japanese version delivered it nicely, and out of the ENG covers, Lime's feels also extremely close to my vision.
The Shorekeeper aspires to be human, not yet having become one. She wasn't broken and had to rebuild herself; she is growing incrementally, with each step, slowly discovering more and having time to figure out each feeling she finds out within, and give it a name. Yet, she is not human yet.
So, there must be an underlying current of humanity inside, with emotions, but she does not push the lyrics out through the overwhelming feelings-she gently speaks about the truths she learned with you, the Rover, and contemplates her feelings in resolute peace.
But that's just my own vision and ruminations, perhaps to justify my bias towards the JP voice acting of the game.
I'm usually a sucker with these kinds of musics 😂
