Good going, being interesting in the maintenance of your vehicle will make you a better rider overall.
Few notes:
when cleaning the chain, you didnt take the front sprocket cover off and get all the garbage off that, and there is still a ring of dirt on the rear sprocket too. Might as well get it all while you are there.
Also, next oil change get yourself a new clutch side gasket (left side cover) and oil spinner cover gasket. The cub doesnt have an oil filter it has a centrifugal oil spinner, which basically flings the old clutch material and other junk out of suspension and traps it. you need to get the cover off and manually clean it out along with the oil screen which is down the bottom.
Remove the old gasket material and replace with a new gasket. Its a bit of a pain but its part of it. You will be amazed how much junk there will be.
Next would be get some feeler gauges and learn to check the valve clearances.
The only other bit of engine maintenance on these little units is valve timing chain adjustment. There are videos all over showing you how to do these things.
And i hope you disposed of the oil by taking it to the tip or an auto shop, not throwing it in the bin or pouring it anywhere.
