      You are so kind. Algorithms are a mystery to me.
      And I’m not consistent. If I could get out one video a week I’d have many more followers. But that’s not possible for me right now. 🤷‍♀️

    Hello BJ, thank you so very much for this tutorial. I have watched many tutorials of how different artists bring forth the paint underneath, but I like the way you did it here, no sanding, no splashing tons of water on, just simple wet distress. It's doable. Yes, I do have and use DIY paints like you have. I love everything about this project except the color of the final coat of paint... but that's a personal choice. I'm saving this tutorial for the future for a box to try it out. Thank you so very much. Look forward to your next video.

    BJ, your videos never disappoint me. I've been in a rut for quite awhile. I'm starting to paint again and needed some inspiration. This is gorgeous! I've always come to your page for color inspiration, now this technique isn't new to me, but your unique style really shines through. Thanks for sharing! 😘

    What a great video! You offered up a unique technique that I had never seen demonstrated so well before. I've missed you and am glad that this video just appeared on my feed. Honestly, I have thought about you now and then, and I wondered if your move out of the US made it more difficult for you to feel & stay connected to your old viewers?... You have an artistic flair to your pieces that I so appreciate. You dare to be different. I love what you did with this rather simple bench elevating it to a work of art. I do hope you will be gracing us with more videos once again, you have been missed.

      Moving abroad gave me the opportunity to work on my TH-cam channel and learn and improve my video skills. But yes… I did feel disconnected. And at times very much considered giving up.
      We have since moved back (that was always the plan) and I am happy to be getting reconnected and back in the groove.
      I’m glad I kept going. I realized I really need to paint and be creative to feel good and to feel like myself.
      Thanks for sticking with me and for being supportive. I appreciate that.

    Wow PJ...I have been looking for you. I used to paint years ago, decades actually when all the shabby chic & crackled look was in. Did alot of frames & some furniture...now coming back in. You style is after my heart. I love layered colors but have been a bit shy with all the chalk & milk paint. Ready to tear it up now. Oh BTW, found you on the IOD channel. Woo hoo. Thank you! Love how you explain everything!

      Thanks so much for your kind words. The decorative furniture paints on the market now make it soooo easy. Way easier than it used to be back in the day.

    When you wet distress, are you doing it over dried paint? Thanks!❤

    • @JunkdUp
      @JunkdUp  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep. This is one of the things I love about DIY Paint. Because it is re-activated with water I can wet distress dry paint.

    I love it. It seems so graceful when you do it. Hahaha. Sigh. BJ-- do you have any genius tips for cleaning wax brushes? I learned the diy way that they set up really hard and then scratch the paint if they aren't cleaned. In Canada it seems we dont sell odourless mineral spirits. So it's a stinky headache to use that stuff. Any shortcuts you know?

    • @JunkdUp
      @JunkdUp  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would make it a habit of cleaning your wax brushes after every use. I use dawn dish soap as it does a good job of getting them clean. You could try massaging some wax into the crusty brushes to see if you can soften them up.

    • @JunkdUp
      @JunkdUp  ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe try Murphy’s oil soap?
