This band is 100% Japanese. Their older songs have more Japanese lyrics. Taka's pronunciation has gotten better over the years. When he's singing, you can't really tell that English isn't his native tongue. It's more obvious when he speaks during interviews and such but he's improved so much.
Sounds like you guys are into more heavy stuff? OOR actually doesn't have too many heavy songs and their recent tracks lean more towards pop (though the live arrangements are still heavier than the studio versions). If you want heavy though, try songs like "One by One," "Ending Story??," "NO SCARED," or "Liar." For some bass appreciation, try "Deeper Deeper." Still, their music might not be heavy enough for you, though I appreciate that you can recognize their talent, even if their music style isn't quite to your liking. Songs like "The Beginning" (my personal favorite) and "Re:make" have a good mix of Japanese and English lyrics.
OOR is amazing live though. This is actually how they sound and pretty much everyone agrees they sound better live than in the studio. Take a look at the performance of this song at Saitama Super Arena. I think you'll like the ending there even more than in this one. If you decide to try more of their stuff, please do yourself a favor and watch the live version if you can.
PS It seems you like anime so I also wanna mention that "Mighty Long Fall" is the theme song for the second live-action Rurouni Kenshin movie. "The Beginning" is the theme song for the first movie and "Heartache" for the third. The band will be providing music for the upcoming movies as well.

ONE OK ROCK is a japanese band. Taka, the vocalist, are taking english lesson that's why his pronounciation is quite good. They debuted way back 2005. Their post genre, past albums, are more on punk/emo rock. But recently they are challenging theirselves and entering western market, thats why they are now more on pop rock.
If you want some heavy songs from them (not metal-like heavy songs biut kind of rock heavy songs). This I can recommend.

One Ok Rock stands for the "Japanese" way of saying "One o'clock", the time they used to practice on the weekends. Japanese have a hard time distinguishing between R and L. They play, like many Japanese bands, many different genres in their music. They play many different styles of music, with songs ranging from alternative and emo to post-hardcore and pop rock. They are under the same talent agency as Babymetal, Amuse. They sing in both English and Japanese. I personally like some of their songs but they have more of a female following and a college following. Do have a couple of their songs on my playlist. Some strongly emotional songs, and some bangers. I like their older stuff better though. Here are a couple of my faves. There was a better version of this but it was taken down. I hope you guys like this band. The song salt thrower is from their latest album. They used to be a two-piece band but they brought on more members for this album. All their song titals are slug puns but lyrically very deep and questioning.
