This is good but it was funnier in the book. For people unfamiliar with Shep this was a good introduction. I'd suggest anyone who hasn't, and loves to laugh, read his book " IN GOD WE TRUST, ALL OTHERS PAY CASH"
This story, in its fullness, appears in "A Fistful of Fig Newtons." It's out of print, and my copy is NOT_ for sale! a great story made even funnier by Shepherd telling it himself on this recording. But the book gave him so much time and room to amplify a small incident into a laugh riot. I'm too young to remember price wars. The closest thing in my lifetime is different banks giving away stuff to people who opened accounts. yawn, snore.
