Absolutely gorgeous. Im curious. How long was the cord wood drying for before you built with it? Does the mortar span the entire depth of the wall, or did you put saw dust or something similar in between 2 lines of mortar like ive seen others doing? And lastly, what did you end up using to treat the wood once you were finished? Yours turned out better than any others ive seen. Amazing work.
Thank you The wood was dried 2 years and the mortar bead is solid throughout each wall. There are two walls separated by a four inch gap. The only treatment has been borax before the walls were constructed.
Hi thanks for the video, and for sharing your exp. May I ask which is the difference between living in a rural property like this you show us, and an european "ghost" rural town, with affordable/cheap housing prices? Don't they share the same "isolation" from society?
This is gonna be an odd question and I'm sorry 😆 but how old are yall while building this? I normally see younger people doing this and I'm all in my own head saying you can't do that you're too old 🤦🏻♀️
Can't wait to see the finished home. ❤❤❤❤
Very nice results. You can see the care taken. Looks great.
Bravo! Greets from Austria :)

How are you going to get the firewood out of the wall when you need to start a fire.

How great are all these houses that the big bag wolf can't blow down?
HEY, you make sure you pick up your feet when you walk in the woods hahah
Haha hey how are you doing? It’s been a long time
@@backinthewoods2022 doing good, it's nice to see everything coming along.
What is the benefit of the reason why you use the paper slurry mixed with the mortar? Why not just use straight mortar?
@@Caseyjacob-k2q it slows the cure to help with cracking because the wood it surrounds draws moisture out and it helps to bind it together.
@@backinthewoods2022Is there any problems with winter/summer weather when it comes to the mortar?
@@SvensktTroll hasn’t been in three years on ours. I also visited a house in Minnesota that’s been built for 20 years and it’s still good.
@@backinthewoods2022 Okey thanks 👍

Скажите стены сделаны на глину или на цемент?
Тоже пытаюсь понять - что за раствор? Бумагу они туда измельчили и замочили с вечера, а что ещё?
Would not work sense the wood will bend over time so it must be something flexible.
