Delonghi Air Conditioner Error Codes

  • I need your advice on Delonghi air conditioner error codes. I don't know what they mean.
The LT error is the low temperature error. This can occur when you run the air conditioner and it is too cold to do so.
It isn't cold enough for that to happen.
The LT error could come up if there is cold air circulating around the AC, like a window AC surrounded by curtains that make it colder and colder there as it tries to cool down the house.
The solution in that case is literally fresh air.
No, just better air flow. However, the unit should clear the LT notice if the unit successfully defrosts.
That usually happens when it runs the fan but not the compressor.
If you have the PF error, that's for probe failure.
I think that's the temperature probe.
Yes, it is. A lot of other devices, though, use that for power failure.
The smaller delonghi ACs make you just turn it off and back on to get it running in that case, but don't have a particular error for it.
The sensor usually needs to be replaced. If you have a full tank error, the water tank needs to be emptied. That may be accompanied by a Q alarm light, too.
    What water tank?
If you have a portable air conditioner, some of them have a water tank to catch the condensate instead of a drain tube.
I am not using a portable AC.
The LO notice means the room temperature is too low.
That's not the problem I'm having.
HI is the notice if the room temperature is too high.
An AC shouldn't care except if the house is on fire. Otherwise, that only means it has work to do.
It can mis-read the temperature if the temperature sensor is malfunctioning, or the exhaust is not venting right and causing the air around the AC to get warm.
That's the opposite of what an AC is supposed to do.
If it tells you the room temperature is too high, you need to make sure the exhaust vents properly and the hose isn't kinked so the hot air circulates around the unit.
    I don't think that's it.
Some of the Delonghi units use E1 to indicate probe failure.
That's when you call for service.
    CF means change the filter.
That's pretty normal. And I can verify that is the problem by checking the color of the filter.
HL is an error for a high internal tray level.
    I've never seen that one.
It is usually only relevant if you have their portable or window air conditioners.
The window ones have a drain tube, so that error only comes up on the portable ones.
F1 can come up if the lime scale filter needs to be cleaned.
I don't know if my air conditioner even has one.
If you replaced the filter already, then you'd know the problem is the sensor for that. And F1 can mean the water filter just needs to be replaced.

I was getting the "LT" message. I cleaned my filter, it ran without the compressor for a while and, suddenly went back to cooling. Thank GOD!

      high level of water
HL means high level of water in the tank on your A/C. You need to drain it. There should be a black thing at the bottom of the a/c next to the power cord. Open that up and drain it from there.

I had the same issue I removed the outer cover and you will have two coils one will be on top where your filter is and the other one on the bottom. You may find the coil on the bottom completely covered with dust not letting that coil pass air through it to cool off the refrigerant causing a layer of insulation. Use a brush with stiff bristles hard enough to clean it with out damaging the fins. This may fix your Lo issue it did with mine. I hope this helps
