  • Otto Scharmer is a Senior Lecturer in the MIT Sloan School of Management, co-founder of the Presencing Institute and the U-School for Transformation. Scharmer chairs the MIT IDEAS program for cross-sector innovation and introduced the concept of "presencing"--learning from the emerging future--in his best-selling books, "Theory U: Leading from the Future as it Emerges" and "Presence: An Exploration of Profound Change in People, Organizations and Society".
    Otto Scharmer leads our third session of this HLA Webinar Series on the topic of "Presencing Along Life's Journey". Otto Scharmer is partnering with the Humanistic Leadership Academy to expand on how presencing can be a critical mindset for professors and students alike. Otto shares how his work interfaces with the ideas of Humanistic Leadership, and then holds Q&A.

    Dear Otto, healtcare (cure & care) as other domains in the field are not an explicit part of rhe model you talked about. In our society much money is spent on healthcare and many people are concerned about the future of healthcare. The same van be said about military defense, security/ police, law and protection and…..( not in times of chaos ). What’s your compass for leaving these domains out of the model. Are they all considered to be businesses, like “busy wiith”? Thanx for the inspiration and yor effort to link to HLA. Curious about the new book. Warm regards, Ronald
