Hi Matt, from what I understood you don't know the cause yet, right? Any chance the damage in the bearings could have been caused from glass bead media or at least micro residue? I know that some engine builders will refuse engine internals that have been anywhere close to a vapor blaster, while others seem to love it for its gentle cleaning abilities. It does seem to leave some sort of residue, if you try to TIG weld blasted parts it can feel like a contaminated part, even though they look spotless.
I don't know the cause. I cleaned the parts really well after vapor blasting. I don't know what happened but I was beating on it with 10psi for 2.5 years and 2k+ miles. Oh well, try again I guess.
