    The Covenant of Baha’u’llah is indisputable. In the Kitab-i-Ahd, Baha’u’llah makes it quite clear to the world and to His family in particular, that after His passing they are to turn to Abdu’l-Baha as He is the Center of the Covenant, and to obey whatever He put forth.
    Tragically, Baha’u’llah’s sons and their families did not do what Baha’u’llah so clearly had instructed, and in fact unceasingly misrepresented, opposed, connived and conspired against Abdul-Baha at every turn.
    They caused Abdu’l-Baha and his immediate family untold heartache and suffering.
    Likewise, Abdu’l-Baha was very clear in His Will and Testament when He appointed Shoghi Effendi Guardian of the Baha’i Faith. Everyone was instructed to follow the guidelines of the Guardian, but some choose not to do so, and several of the Beloved Guardian’s immediate family threw in their lot with the others who previously had turned against Abdu’l-Baha.
    These people worked tirelessly against the appointed Center of the Covenant and His appointed successor and paid the price for their actions.
    However, in the Baha’i Faith, sins of the parents are not passed down to subsequent generations. If any descendant of these people living today wishes to become a loyal Baha’i they would be welcome.

      " If any descendant of these people living today wishes to become a loyal Baha’i they would be welcome." This is a bald-faced LIE. I personally know descendants of Abdul-Baha who are still called CB, because one of their ancestors "disobeyed" an unjust demand of Shoghi's.

    • @julianneheindorf5757
      @julianneheindorf5757 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@NYWF1939 I seriously dispute that. Shoghi Effendi was appointed the Guardian of the Bahá’í Faith by Abdu’l-Baha in His Will and Testament. He makes it abundantly clear that all are required to turn to the Guardian and follow his instructions.
      Unfortunately, several of the Guardian’s family members chose to ignore or contend with this fact and actively worked against him, and worked to undermine the unity of the Bahá’í Faith.
      His family members in several cases also threw in their lot with other relatives of Abdu’l-Baha. People who had exerted every effort in causing as much trouble for Abdu’l-Baha as they possibly could. One such person was a younger brother who was insanely jealous of the love and respect with which the believers showed Abdu’l-Baha.
      If descendants of these people are still considered covenant-breakers then it’s because they still uphold the opinions and attitudes of their ancestors.

      Was Baha'u'llah ever wrong? Did HE make mistakes? In the Book of the Covenant, HE appointed Abdu'lBaha first, and Muhammad-Ali to succeed Him. Wasn't Baha'u'llah prescient?

    • @julianneheindorf5757
      @julianneheindorf5757 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@NYWF1939 Yes, He did appoint them as you mentioned, and yes He was prescient and no, Baha’u’llah, the Manifestation of God for our age did not make mistakes.
      Mírzá Muhammad Ali lived longer than Abdu’l-Baha. He was given the title the Greater Branch, but lost all that when he privately and publicly rose up against the Center of the Covenant, the Most Great Branch, Abdu’l-Baha, causing confusion among the believers and tarnishing the name of the Faith.
      Ali’s pettiness, jealousy and hatred of Abdu’l-Baha as well as his reprehensible actions are recorded history, and well-known to the Bahá’ís of today. He managed to secure the support of the majority of Baha’u’llah’s family to the extent that the only family members who stood faithfully by Abdu’l-Baha at one point, were His wife, His sister, His daughters and an old uncle, Baha’u’llah’s youngest half-brother.
      Yet the power of the Covenant is such that all of Ali’s machinations, evil endeavors, attempts at gaining leadership and misrepresenting Abdu’l-Baha at every turn came to naught. Ali and his supporters in the end achieved nothing. The Center of the Covenant triumphed, and the unity of the Bahá’í Faith was maintained.
      The Covenant of Baha’u’llah is a mighty shield protecting this unity. There have been other attempts by individuals after the time of Abdu’l-Baha, trying to set up their own version of the Bahá’í Faith and they have all failed and failed miserably.
      Unity does not mean conformity. There is ample room in the Bahá’í Faith for a difference of opinion.
      Bahais are by no means perfect people, and their knowledge on topics, principles, laws etc of the Bahá’í Faith may vary. Yet they strive every day to better themselves.
      Not understanding a principle properly or failing to adhere in the correct manner to a law does not make someone a Covenant-breaker. Only someone deliberately and actively from within the Faith working against the Center of the Covenant can be designated a Covenant-breaker.
      The authority to name anyone a covenant-breaker rests today only in the hands of the Universal House of Justice, a divinely inspired institution created by Baha’u’llah Himself, and endorsed and supported by Abdu’l-Baha in His Will and Testament.
      Such an action against a believer is very grave and very rare, and only announced when counseling, conversations etc have failed, and the believer persists in their attempts to set up their own branch of the Bahá’í Faith with themselves as the leader.

    "It is incumbent upon everyone to show courtesy to, and have regard for, the Aghsan (descendents of Baha'u'llah), that thereby the Cause of God may be glorified and His Word exalted."
    At the same time, He exhorts them:

    In Islam... veneration and respect for descendants of the Prophet Muhammad is a given. The prefixed-names Mirza and Siyyid denote their illustrious lineage. Yet, here we are within 200 years of the life of Baha'u'llah... and not a single of his descendants is afforded this same respect. Instead, those living today are shunned and vilified for what their ancestors may or may not have done to contravene the Covenant. I personally know a great-granddaughter of Baha'u'llah's "Faithful brother Mirza Musa", and a great-granddaughter of Abdu'l Baha. Both of these women are beautiful, spiritual people... who follow Baha'u'llah's teachings... But are not allowed to be "members" of their forebearer's Faith.

      In fact, Baha'u'llah had shunned a number of individuals, e.g. Mirza Yahya (a.k.a. Suhb-i-Azal), Siyyid Muhammad-i-Isfahani, and others of Yahya's followers and associates (Azalis) while all were in Adrianople; He also, near the end of His earthly life, shunned His amanuensis, Mirza Aqa Jan for the latter's willfulness and disrespect.
      All these individuals were given a chance to change their ways and attitudes, but they disdainfully refused. The same is true of the patience and forbearance of Abdu'l-Baha, Shoghi Effendi and the Universal House of Justice. They all gave individuals ample time to see the error of their ways, change their conduct and attitudes. Only after a long time, and when said individuals refused to change, were they declared Covenant-breakers. It's rare for anyone to be so declared. The last such individual do be declared a Covenant-breaker was Francesco Ficicchia in the 1980s.
