  • Explore and see at 390 feet deep the bottom of the Great Blue Hole of Belize with Ramon F Llaneza revealing underwater domain secrets. A technical diver diving rebreather explore stargates the entrances to alien underworlds in Belize and Bahamas. Watch more details about this exploration at • Explore the depths at ... . Revealing underwater domain secrets of pushing through one of the last true frontiers of exploration. Only an intrepid few dare risk this watery corner of our planet's last frontier. The captive magic desire of diving long and deep into the unknow darkness, gloomy abyss with threatening danger elements, the drama and fear which must inevitable be part of extreme environments. Have kept away the hordes and the weaker of heart and left us the discovers.
    The Mysterious Belize Great Blue Hole is a large underwater hole off the coast of Belize. It lies near the center of Lighthouse Reef, a small atoll 100 kilometers (62 mi) from the mainland and Belize City. The hole is perfectly circular in shape, over 300 meters (1000 ft) across (diameter), 3140 feet circumference and 120 meters (400 feet) deep.
    They contain speleothems formed hundred of thousands years ago during different Earth dry periods of Ice Ages the Earth was covered with Ice and water level were 400 to 600 feet lower that today and preserved underwater during the Interglacial Global Warming today during global warming water level are 400 to 600 feet higher than before, these periods are repeating cycles dating back millions of years. Recording the geological history of the earth over millions of years these caves are time capsules kept underwater in perpetual darkness.
    The Blue Hole is the collapse of the roof of the great cave and was formed as a limestone gigantic cave system during glacial Ice Age periods when the sea level was 400 to 600 feet below present time and was dry land. Last glacial period began about 120,000 years ago and end about 15,000 years ago. Reaching the maximum extension 26,500 years ago. At the end the ocean began to rise, the caves flooded, and the roof collapsed. Believed to be the world's largest feature of its kind, the Great Blue Hole is part of the larger Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System, a World Heritage site of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
    The hole itself is the opening to a system of caves and passageway that penetrate this undersea mountain. In various places, massive limestone stalactites hang down from what was once the ceiling of air-filled caves thousand of years before the end of the last Ice Age 15,000 years ago. When the ice melted the sea level rose, flooding the caves. This process occurred in stages. Evidence for this are the shelves and ledges, carved into the limestone by the sea, which run the complete interior circumference of the Blue Hole at various depths. The Blue Hole is a "karst- eroded sinkhole." It was once a cave at the center of an underground tunnel complex whose ceiling collapsed. Some of the tunnels are thought to be linked right through to the mainland, though this has never been conclusively proved.
    Mysterious and legends always have been around the Belize Blue Hole. This was the entrance to Xibalba?. It's the kind of underwater geology that inspires speculation about aliens creating geometrically perfect anomalies, mermaids and monsters living in darkness.
    I explored the bottom of the Blue Hole perimeter (3,140 feet circumference). To do this I dove down twice, reaching the depth of 390 feet which took 4 to 5 hours of diving each day.

      You may have Thalassophobia, which I do also.
      Thalassophobia can include fear of being in large bodies of water and fear of the vast emptiness of the sea. Another common case of this phobia is a fear of the thought or sight of any creature under the depth of a body of water, more than fear of the water itself.

    I always wondered what was at the bottom. I mysteriously ran out of air at 70 feet, borrowed some air from my partner and surfaced. Although that was 12 years ago I will never forget running out of air 70 ft down in the middle of the ocean. It's good to be alive!

      girls breath slower, lol. That does sound scary. I have very little experience and I know I have to remind myself how little I know. Hope to go a few more times before I get too old. I read a review of a dive I did a couple of years ago in Hawaii. The guy had had years of experience and the mouthpiece came off of the rented equipment. He was very angry and said he came close to not making it. Most of the time it is relatively safe. That is why we are constantly reminded of the routine things we need to do so we do them automatically. I am not sure as little as I dive if I would react properly and so I definitely do not take it for granted. It is dangerous even at the 25 to 55 feet I've been at.

    I go to the bottom of a 8 ft pool, and my ears hurt like a bitch from the pressure. How do you go this deep??

    • @PhilJonesIII
      @PhilJonesIII 10 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      You need to equalise the pressure: Close mouth, pinch your nose and gently breathe out but dont release the air. Your ears should stop hurting immediately. This is one of the first things you learn when snorkeling/diving. Its very important you know how to do this even for shallow water. That pain is your eardrum being stretched.
      If in doubt then ask a lifeguard at the pool how to equalise pressure in the ears.

    • @revvyboi216
      @revvyboi216 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Philip Jones Thx bro, I'll try this next time I go swimming.

    • @kooljazzmann8352
      @kooljazzmann8352 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Though the pressure is greater at deeper depths, the biggest change in pressure comes at 33'. This is where the pressure DOUBLES.
      That's why there is more pain at shallow depths.
      Basically, after 33' you are "used to it". The changes in pressure are less severe and get less severe as you go deeper.
      Of course the AMOUNT of pressure is extreme at deep depths, but it's the CHANGE in pressure that is dangerous to the body - increasing or decreasing!

    This reminds me of a deep hole in my country, its not nearly as big and deep as this of course, but for a young free diver like me its deep as hell.When you swim to it and reach the edge you get an ominous feeling, you can see nothing but dark blue water and a misty hue. I go diving there, i have reached the bottom, when you get there its so dark and isolated, i never go without my best friend, i would be too frightened. Id say its about 35-40 feet.

    Wonder why there's no signs of any marine life inside the hole?
    You see what looks to be a dead coconut crab, lying on the bottom. But no fish, no eels, no crustaceans, starfish... Nothing.
    Could the water in the hole be short of oxygen?
    Just an odd thing, seeing the hole is located in a natural coral reef.

    • @josesuarez7484
      @josesuarez7484 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Down at the bottom of the hole there isn't much to see. Usually, the sea floor appears barren, but there are places on it where lots of strange life can be found, just not at the relatively small space this hole offers.

    • @jameslanning8405
      @jameslanning8405 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jose Suarez I agree.
      Near the surface, there are sharks and other things that live on the reef near the edge of the hole.
      But down within the hole itself, there seems to be little of nothing.
      Maybe some sort of micro-biology is there.
      But the abundant life normally found in , on and around a coral reef is absent in the hole...

    • @LauraZeinert
      @LauraZeinert 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +James Lanning I think the water is anoxic due to the lack of circulation.

    • @jameslanning8405
      @jameslanning8405 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Laura Jane That could be. But you'd think that some kind of circulation would occur, just by the tides alone.
      And it's not really that deep, in comparison to the ocean around it.
      It's just a deep hole in the reef.
      Maybe the reef formed around this area, because of some sort of gas release or some sort of volcanic activity?

    • @LauraZeinert
      @LauraZeinert 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would think so, but this may not be what is actually happening here. It would be interesting to find out!

      @PhilJonesIII 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You are right. 130 feet is the limit for recreational and qualified open water divers. Beyond that is possible but not straight forward. From that point you are dealing with different gas mixes and a lot more time in decompression stops. You don't go down there and no one is taking you there without a lot of training beyond the standard diving certificate. You can try going alone but you wont be coming back. And the apparent lack of life means nothing. Once the sunlight drops off then you enter a dead zone. Anything at the bottom is usually feeding on stuff that died near the surface.

    • @sylviebereni7727
      @sylviebereni7727 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Philip Jones what are you talking about??..you can go without mix gas to more than 200 feet ,no problem .you have to know what you are doing!

      @PhilJonesIII 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sylvie Bereni
      If you have the standard open water diving certificate then its 40 metres ( 130 feet ). At that point nitrogen narcosis becomes an issue. Yes you can do deeper but don't expect your dive buddy to follow. Those nitrogen tables are your bible.

      @diceman199 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      flooding doesn't affect rate of decay. plus there is no compelling evidence for a global flood.....or indeed any evidence for one

    • @sounddoctorin
      @sounddoctorin 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      diceman199, you are missing the point. The bible records a firmament above and below. Some layer that could have removed high energy EM energy from the earth below that firmament, and protected the surface from core radiation as well some. In light of this C14 production would be virtually shut down PRE-FLOOD. Thus things killed in the flood would appear as much much older than they are since the C14 levels would be greatly diminished since there was none in the environment basically when they were alive.

    • @diceman199
      @diceman199 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      sounddoctorin You're really scraping the bottom of the barrel with this one.
      Apparently you are ignorant of the fact that C14 is NOT the only radio isotope used for dating objects. A list of them are here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiometric_dating
      So now we've negated your "C14 production would be virtually shut down PRE-FLOOD" BS argument lets move onto a couple of other little facts shall we?
      Firstly....if there was a "firmament" above which consisted of this shell of water around the planet then it wouldn't only be "high energy" being blocked....it would be all of it if there was even 10% of the water needed to blanket the planet to a depth of 5 miles. So the entire planet would have been pitch black.
      Then there is the fact that if the water was above the atmosphere it would be frozen and couldn't fall. If it was inside the atmosphere and low enough to be liquid it couldn't have stayed up their in the first place.
      Then there is the whole BS story of the flood that is contradicted by little things like animals found only in places thousands of miles away magically turning up in pairs, then there is not enough room on the boat, not enough room on the boat for their food....and if there had been how would they have kept meat fresh for a year.
      Then what did the animals eat afterwards and little points like how did, for instance, sloths make it all the way back to where they are currently found.
      The evidence is indeed compelling....just in the other direct.

    Beautiful scenery, but I just don't know if I'd be able to dive into a giant blue hole in the ocean. So much is unknown about the ocean. I'd do it if I had all my homies with me, Sergio, Javi, Kilo, Cody B, Adanvdo, and Lando Fernando. Aight that'll make 7 of us. I think that's acceptable as enough back up for defense/ security. Though none of would last against sharks or anything down there for that matter, at least I know I got my boys to watch my back so I won't die unexpectedly. And I'm not saying we would die, I mean these guys are back safe and sound... But I don't trust deep, dark vastness of caverns and unknown life... Who knows what hides in the ocean...

      @IsaiahJamesMalachi 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Anna Queralt Nah. I love the oceans. I love being on a boat and sailing, with the breeze, birds chirping, and the peace of it all... But it's when perfectly circular holes appear in the ocean that it gets creepy, and less peaceful. And I wouldn't say it's irrelevant, for it was about the blue hole, as seen in this video, and I wouldn't say it's stupid, it's a small piece of info about a "what if" situation, which runs through all our minds at some point. If you really dislike it so much, then why did you finish reading it? Your comment is one of negativity towards my comment. In my opinion, commenting just to say you dislike my comment is irrelevant and stupid, as is anything with a basis of negativity. Stay positive and forget about things you dislike. Think about it. You just wasted minutes of time you'll never get back, just to rant about something you didn't want intruding in your time anyway, so why waste more time on it? Well it was good typing to yah. Later Anna, and have nice day... A positive day. Haha

Yeah I'd got paragliding if my mum would hold my hand. Who gives a f***. Irrelevant and irrelevant. But yeah freedom of expression all the way. Everything can be said thee days on Internet and everyone can give 'opinions', for sure. They all 'opinions' these days. Everyone thinks they can give their own 'opinions' on any matter just because it's just there easy access, and makes them feel proud they can use their brain on any matter. Yup, lots of opinions out there, all very relevant and very enriching. Back in the day you'd be sitting back in the corner 'cause none of your friends would even listen to mediocre irrelevant comments but now they all called 'opinions', can be given from your phone, no one sees your face and no one tells you off. Winning. No worries -enjoy them all. Jeez.

      DrMucker We went back to Belize city on a tour on the 20th, and left on the 21st. It was fun. I really appreciate all your tips.

      1. At exactly a depth of 350 feet, the pressure is a little over 150 psi. 2. There is not 150 psi IN his lungs, there is 150 psi pressing ON his lungs, which noticeably crushes it to a smaller drive.

      ChinaLake100 i'd hope the pressure in and outside his lungs is equal otherwise it would be im/explosive

      7paco Right, but imagine holding your breath and ditching your weight belt at that depth. You'd look like a badly dissected frog when you got to the surface.

      Dan Kelly And what exactly do you think you would be hearing hundreds of feet under water? probably just heavy breathing. I'll take the music, thanks.
