    Ooooh dieser Sound. I love it.
    Bin 17 Jahre VFR gefahren. Unvergesslich.
    Wenn ich heute eine VFR RC36 von weitem höre, sag ich gleich, VFR.
    Hatte auch eine Fireblade SC57 mit 171 PS. Aber die VFR war das Beste meiner
    Motorradkarriere.

    That biker had whip out your way not sure where mangart is obviously abroad .used take my wife up Llangollen horse shoe pass to the ponderosa on my vfr750.miss that .also Christmas Day would ride through wales while the turkey was cooking.one time I had persistent cough couldn’t sleep so jumped on bike early hours headed to Llandudno cough stopped as soon as hit fresh air .at Llandudno just lay on a bench and just silence apart from the sea.even seagulls silent.them were the days .just me and the v4😊

      @@Stahlkatze I agree. For me it has the best engine sound of all bikes. I know it is debatable, but it's only my opinion. I was doing other things while just having this sound playing, like music. I would like to find one, but it must have the right colour scheme: the dark metal green, with the silver belly, with green tinted windscreen. I think these had the word "Carat" somewhere on the fairings.

    • @Stahlkatze
      @Stahlkatze  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@smokemagnet Haha its nice to see others do like this :-D I did that with V8 car sound videos years ago. I think that too, the VFR 750/800 have 180deg crank and a firing order where almost each cylinder is fired after a differently long pause making the sound "complicated". IMO the Ducati V4s have less of an interesting exhaust note because the "twin pulse" firing order is more simple.
      Well you can get one of these quite cheap but even newer models are pretty affordable. It could be hard to find an RC36 with your color preference AND fairings that are in good shape (mine also has a big scratch on the right side). But you can also repaint it and then it doesnt really matter. Nice bikes, just a bit too heavy and not as powerful as others. Although I find myself being totally happy with 90-100HP and a top speed around 230.

      @@Stahlkatze How do you find it regarding the riding position? I've just watched another of your videos where at a certain point you removed your hands from the handlebars and shook them a bit. Is the position heavy on the hands? What about on the lower back? How tall are you? Sorry for so many questions :)

    • @Stahlkatze
      @Stahlkatze  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like reading comments 😁
      I am 196 so I am too tall for any sport bike. The VFR is very long and the seating position is very comfortable compared to other sportbikes, but still as a sport bike it is hard on the wrist and the back. My knee angle is also very sharp, I am not able to ride more than an hour with the kneepads in the kevlar jeans. It is surely better for shorter people.
      The brakes are mildly shit, my wrist suffers a lot when riding downhill with a lot of braking, or with slower speeds and bad roads.
      Above 70kmh the wind holds enough to unload the wrist and without kneepads I am totally fine for basically unlimited time. Soo.. depends. If you are coming from adv bikes it will be much worse, if from supersports its much better 😅 It is an old bike with 90 era japanese brakes, and a lot of weight, but also a very well thought out sports tourer for average height and nice roads.

      Yes, it was. I actually got pretty pissed off about it.. he came on the left side hot into a blind corner like on a goddamn racetrack. Apparently being able to buy a GS with the mandatory cupboards on the sides doesnt necessarily mean being able to ride responsibly :-D

      @@mbcoll8154Answer: GS. It's more about looking the part for the most of them I'm sure. (I'm disappointed in myself for saying it, but my experience hasn't given me any evidence to the contrary.)

    That is undoubtedly THE best sounding VFR I've ever heard! Did you remove the baffles? Did you shorten the can itself? How did you get it to sound that awesome?

    • @Stahlkatze
      @Stahlkatze  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks man 😁
      You should also check out V4 Rider, he has great sound recordings with a 800, some V4 FI action 😁
      Im planning to make a video about it, but yes, I scrapped the whole interior of the stock can and replaced with my idea. Also it became a bit shorter but only because I had to cut some welds when opening. Ill show it some day, just need time to do it 😅
      Also note that at least half of it comes down to recording the sound properly. A great exhaust can easily sound like crap if recorded badly. I also want to make a video about that, but first the exhaust 😅

    Random question, what does the top redline arc indicate? I have a '93 and it only has the large block at 11k RPM, not the ~8k arc that yours does

    • @Stahlkatze
      @Stahlkatze  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This bike was a swiss model, which was restricted to 47kW by several measures, one of them was a lowered revlimiter (maybe to 9500..? not sure now). The other redline is the redline on the restricted revcounter, I guess Honda just took some normal revcounters and printed them an additional stripe for this model run.

    • @lollixx95
      @lollixx95 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Stahlkatze it really has a lower rev limiter? i dyno tested my fully stock swiss RC24 and made 97 hp with the 12'000 rpm limiter instead of the 60kW (81.5 hp) on the registration

    • @Stahlkatze
      @Stahlkatze  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha nope, all the restrictions were already taken tf out and replaced with normal parts by previous owners, intake boots, ignition unit, carb jets..
      Not sure how much power it has exactly but sure feels like stock.
      Revlimiter is out at 13500, but the clock is still this strange one.

    Wie ist das eigentlich in den engen Haarnadelkurven und dem Drehmoment?. Kannst du da im 2ten raus beschleunigen, oder musst du teilweisen in den Ersten runterschalten?

    • @Stahlkatze
      @Stahlkatze  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Schuldigung nur jetzt sehe ich 😬
      Ich mag es nicht unter 2000 belasten (wer weiss ob es genug Öldruck da ist im 29 jährigen Motor) aber das Bike kanns. Auch mit Mitfahrer und Gepäck.
      Erinnere mich nicht mehr genau aber würde sagen im 2ten hätte es auch funktioniert.
      Anderer Grund runterzuschalten ist für mich Motorbremsen.

    Front brake isn't very good in this model... and the lack of abs maked me having some accidents... this years... ninetieths ... and I remember how beast were this bike in fuel consumption.!!! Carburators omg!!!
    But a funny and pleasent bike for all round use. I love the sound.

    • @Stahlkatze
      @Stahlkatze  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well it is the standard for 1990.. also, I think the rear brake is way better than on some newer supersports.
      As for fuel consumption, its 5.5-7l /100km depending on style but I wouldnt consider it so much. Fuel tank could be bigger.

    Sounds like a twin cam Ford Engine.

      Well.. it has two cams per cylinder bank, soo I guess it is accurate :-D Although this has gear driven cams, I guess that differs from the ford.
