There’s nothing like real wood, but this is the future for sure.
They send you a laser scanner for the room, it sends the dimensions of the room, including alcoves,fireplaces and doors. A 3d render is sent back to the factory and it gives you web page of any combination of wardrobes, beds draws that will fit in that room. They arive a week later, PERFECT FIT!!!

Been using Cutwrights for all my joinery work for about a 2 years now. Simple ordering system to use and there on the phone if you need help. It makes life a lot easier on site not having to cut everything, not that you'll get close to the precision of CNC anyway and I think it works out quite cost effective once you factor in the time not cutting everything yourself. I do want to get over to their facility to see it all in action.
I truly enjoy every aspect of my work from groundworks, drainage, steelwork, pitching roofs etc. all of it, but there is nothing like getting to the finishing stage when you can fill the place with stacks of lovely new product, then shut yourself in for a few weeks and just get busy putting it all back together. It's a carpenters dream.

I had a very competitive quote for a wardrobe to be cut up but delivery charge is £525 to edinburgh, this means its unfortunately not feasible for me to use them.

Hey Robin really enjoying your videos, just wanted to know what software program you use to create your bespoke kitchen and wardrobe etc and does it give you a cut list ??
Would really love to see process involved to get from your idea, to this video of them cutting. Do you draw everything, or do cutrights do a lot for you?
For example do you simple say you want a door, and they do all the hinge cutouts etc, or do you have to specific hinge positions, hinge screw hole sizes etc??
Just thinking about your kitchen drawer pre-drilled holes.
If you have a chat with them I am sure they will help. All the holes can be drilled to suit the drawer runners or hinges. They do it all the time.
After following Robin (and Roger) for many years, I thought I'd get a quote from Cutwrights for MDF internal door linings. Nothing special about the sizes, 37" and 30" doors 90mm and 130mm depth, in 30mm moisture resistant MDF, edge taped and primed. £838 delivered for 4 linings, is this what Robin pays? Surely you couldn't pass that cost on when you can buy off the shelf for £50 each?
That's a piss take ...do they send the CNC machine with them for that cost 😂
They are very expensive and the quality of the work is not that great to be honest not worth the money they charge

How much cost does it add to have everything pre cut and ready to go on site ?
I think that depends on the value of your time...the cost is actually quite economical when you consider the time, effort, finish and precision which you get for the money. I've used them before, and while the cost of their panels is much higher than a sheet of MDF or ply, it's all precision cut and primed and ready to go, so it's actually worth it; either on a client site or at home.

Do they make anything out of actual wood?
Hello Robert, no solid timber. Sheet material only, huge choice though. Veneer is included in the range if you want to class that as actual wood?
