Best part of watching your Podcast is that you actually stay quiet and listen until your guest is done speaking before you ask your next question.. And you leave your own opinions and commentary out of it except for brief perhaps agreeing or acknowledging.... It's so refreshing too many other hosts think they're the show - you let your guests be your show ! awesome job

I'll never forget Richard Speck who in 1966 killed 8 student nurses at South Chicago Community Hospital. I was a freshman in High School at the time. One nurse escaped death by hiding under her bed. Later in life after doing my Army time I worked at Nalco Chemical around 91st St and Lake Michigan. Anyway, I worked with a fellow that had run into Speck as my friend was exiting the Tavern and Speck was going in. He told me that Speck looked like a weird, spooky fellow. This meeting took place before the killings but my friend still remembered his face. My friend (Don) could tell as he saw him that he was a crazy man.

I’d love to be a fly on the wall when this guy interviews , it’s a fascinating subject, I’m into the psychology of what makes different people tick. What serial killers actually do to their victims , what makes them do it ?

I think the case of Joel Michael Jr., who happened to finally be sentenced this afternoon, is evidence that psychopathy is not always a result of childhood trauma or nurture. Sometimes they’re just born that way. JM Jr. was adored and supported by his mother, loved by his whole family. He ended up murdering, dismembering and attempting to dissolve both his parents in tubs of acid all because they were planning to retire and couldn’t support him anymore (he’s an adult). He thought he’d get his mother’s life insurance money. While his siblings wept in court he had no emotion whatsoever. When they showed pictures and went into every grisly detail he sat there and watched like he was just an attorney or something in the court room. Almost enjoying it. His case chilled me more than Dahmer because even Dahmer was aware of how bad he was and showed some humanity in court.

I was willing to give this a watch for a second, but this is the same kind of thing we've always heard about "serial killers". The late Dave McGowan wrote an incredible book called "Programmed To Kill : The Politics of Serial Murder" and it is not just sensationalized news reports it shows that a lot of serial killers are involved with other people who help to facilitate what goes on, and in a lot of cases a few people are committing the murders that are always blamed on one or occasionally two suspects. There is also a TH-cam channel based on this work and it's fantastic.

Having read over 100 books about serial killers I am ashamed to say that I never read any written by CBD. Well,I am making up for it now with about 10 books, read first 2 and planning to buy all of his books.
He doesn't mince his words,or find excuses for these horrors,he doesn't try to make you feel sympathetic towards some excuse in their past, and best of all: No pc rubbish.
Problem I have is trying to find all his books in the order they were written and watch the documentaries in which he interviews these monsters BUT cannot find them.
    Please help and direct me.
CBD is simply winderfu! as is this interview.
Thank you so much for this video.
