I'm surprised that you didn't break it. The packaging is designed so that you leave the monitor in the box while you attach the stand. Putting pressure on an OLED panel like you did will damage it and reduce its lifespan.
Yeah.... That's definitely now how you should mount the stand to the monitor. You should also avoid touching the screen with your fingers as much ass possible. I personally think the best way to install the mount to the monitor is by leaving the display in the box while doing it. And definitely not rest it against a hard surface with the screen facing down. It is better to put it on your bed or something. It doesn't take much pressure or force for the glass to crack on any OLED displays.
looks incredible. i have a regular g9 and the only complaint i have with it is the black levels especially when content doesn't fill the screen (like when watching movies or games that only run in 16:9) and this would handily solve that. now i just gotta wait for the price to come down.......
Only reason I never chose a oled monitor over IPS or VA is because of the possibility to have led burns over time, thought brands implement ways to counter that issue, it's still an issue... I have however the Samsung G9 VA DWKHD, have slightly higher pixel update rate .3ms vs 1ms but still very good image quality specially with HDR on, honestly very very close to oled, like it's noticeable some quality differences if you have the monitors side by side but not a very big difference. Since I got this monitor I don't want anything else, cant go back to lower aspect ratios... and I use the monitor for both work as this monitor is the same as having two normal monitors side by side in terms of work space... and for gamming, HDR I only turn on for gamming and movies,
I found two vertical bands near the edge of the frame and I would prefer not to have them if I'm honest. what about compensation cycles? Is it like the LG monitors that improve after several cycles every 4 hours?

I went with the lg 45'' and glad I did 32:9 is too wide and the lg has the 800r curve so it actually helps it I don't plan on upgrading until we get 45'' 800r curve lg 5120x2160 @ 165hz oled in Q1 2025

Luckyyy I just got the arcam avr31 for my home theater setup in anticipation for the new Sony A95L. I’m looking at getting some reference Kefd myself once I’m done with all these other upgrades.
@@LordCivickOG That's awesome, I'm using the Arcan SA30 in a stereo setup with the Ref 1 Metas mainly for music, and some movies here and there. I can only imagine what an experience it would be to have a high-end KEF surround setup for movies.
To be honest I found the HDR experience a bit dim coming from the Neo G9. The highlights on the Neo G9 in HDR pop with an intensity which this OLED cannot do.
We will be waiting for the comparison the G9 OLED and G9 Neo side by side 😊. It would be interesting to know the strengths and weaknesses of each model. For instance, OLED displays are known for their better colors, while the G9 Neo boasts superior brightness. We also look forward to learning about the overall HDR performance in both bright and dark games. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that the G9 Neo is slightly more expensive.
@@bL3dbL4k The brightness is much better on G9 Neo. It's for sure (around 400 nits OLED vs 750-900 nits G9 Neo sustained brightness in Real HDR Scene, RTings and Hardware Unboxed). You can watch other videos on this channel. LordCivickOG compared his previous model LG OLED and G9 Neo. G9 Neo won in some aspects and games (except colors, response time ..). It depends. Try to watch "LG 27GR95QE OLED Vs Odyssey Neo G8 Mini LED Panel Review" to understand the differences. It's not that obvious as you comment. Mini leds can win in a lot of situations.

Wow I recently got a 34 inch OLED Alienware for $1099 is it that much of a diffrence If got back to Best Buy and get this montior? I also work from home and not sure if its great productivity for productivity.
The 34awdw is a great monitor but a bit small I would say for production work I am currently using 2 ultrawides (LG 34wk95c & LG 38WN95c). I personally feel the 34 inches one is a bit small and only use it as a secondary display. Recently just ordered this G9 Oled to replace the old LG 34 ultrawide
it is better - 240 hz - better colours, no colours/text fringing. I would wait for 34 inch monitors with qd-oled v2 panels - this 49 did cost 1600$ with a week ago preorder and somewhat military discount link. For 2000$+ it is overpriced imo.
I bought an OLED monitor and I returned it, except for the black ones, everything else is worse. My old Asus TFT monitor has much better brightness and definition.
I've had an OLED TV for 4 years and no burn-in. Unless you leave the monitor on a certain image for hours. It's nothing to worry about. Put a screen saver on (blank - black image) and you're good. OLED is far superior to any other technology for TV/monitors.
@@bL3dbL4kyes, but if you play games with static items (like health bars etc) or do PC work, it's impossible not to have any of these stationary elements.
Thanks for the video. I just got mine and couldn't figure out the cup thing, I thought to use it to attach to the TV but it is for a 3rd party VESA 100 mount. I came here to help me figure that out. I'm glad I watched yours, it's kind of a "things you shouldn't do during installation" instructional.
What about burn-in? I'm really uncomfortable with OLED monitors, I work with the computer all day + gaming, I fear I would have burn-in in a couple of months if I buy one of these.
Definite burn-in signs in 2000-3000 hours (no exception among OLEDs, source: RTings, look at the photos, G8 OLED has burn-in signs even in just a little bit over 1000 hours).

You should try adjusting the contrast to low and it gives it that extra pump.
get a s95c if you want to be wowed by oled in hdr

I love OLED but I could never pay this much for a disposable monitor that will have burn-in
