All of them are not students IIT invites bollywood/international singers, dancer etc to perform there. I could see some familiar indian artist. Not only Bombay but all the IIT functions are huge generally .
I am from IIT KGP and yes, the fests are amazingly fun. There are every kind of competition for students, and also they invite professional singers, bands, other artists for shows. There are food stalls everywhere, you can dance and party all night. Unfortunately due to covid nothing is happening anymore. So you guys will not get any chance in 2022 😅... But maybe someday... I miss those days.

No, a lot of them are professionals. Mood I, like any other college fest in India, invites both celebrity/professional performances (mainly for crowd attraction/sponsorship/exposure) as well as student-led performances and competitions.

Guys I want to tell one fact is that -- it easier to get into Harvard or MIT rather than IIT. IIT exam is the world's fourth toughest exam and world's most toughest engineering entrance exam.

the term the company could give them jobs you retain BEST TALENT in INDIA it is a WIN WIN situation

@@pralaymandal8983 Bruh, they are different kind of exams. JEE/Gao-Kao are completely technical. CSE is almost non-technical and lots of factors for allotting marks in UPSC depends on the subjective opinions/analysis/understanding of the evaluator.

This is not the average college in india, although we have fun festivals in most colleges. But not this size for sure.
Many IITs have culturals as big as this, one example would be IITGs, also their Technical fest are fancy AF.

We wait for the college fest for the whole year as most top engineering/technical colleges in India (including IITs) have very tough courses. Every sem we have weekly quizzes, internal exams, surprise tests, assignments, mini projects, lab work, workshops, club work, seminars, presentations, viva for theory subjects, viva for practicals etc,. It's a lot of pressure and work, it's almost impossible to get even an hour of leisure time each day on average.
So, for us engineering students college fest is one of the saving grace, it's the place where we let go of all that pressure, frustrations and just enjoy.

These fests are pretty normal for tier1 (top level) institutions in india most of them have their own fests at such levels managed mostly by the students

Those people on stage are professional singers and actors and stand up comedian this is a very nice and big event happens only in IIT collages and all those students work very hard go get an an IIT collages,and IIT Bombay is one of the top 3 engineering colleges in India. 😊
