@@rivierago Big Bear Ski Resort (sunny 8.9 celsius, elevation 2,176 meters, today's snow cover average of 46 cm) is 3.5 hours drive east of Malibu (now sunny 14.5 celsius). Southern Californians think nothing of driving 8 hours a day and go from Los Angeles to Big Bear for a day of skiing, except that now devastating fires are not yet contained in Los Angeles County.
Happy Birthday! You two are the best! (And anything Anya wants to do should properly be responded to with a “F**k yeah, Anya! Let’s go!” Such cool ideas!)

Pont du Clans bakery really rocks! I always stop there during the bike ride for an amazing Pain au chocolate des almondes ou pistache. best of the best!
Great video as usual. We used to do a less glamorous version of this in Spain. We lived across the street from the beach in Malaga and drove 2 hours north to just beyond Granada for skiing. As you mention in your video, snow conditions used to be more predictable. In recent years, it has been hit or miss. This year, the Sierra Nevadas have enough snow, but some years much of the snow had to be manufactured. In San Francisco, California, today, it's 13 celsius and sunny on the beach and 3.3 celsius and sunny on the peaks in Lake Tahoe (in the Sierra Nevadas--California used to belong to Spain) that is 3.5 hours away (average snow cover is 101 cm today at Heavenly Valley with an elevation 3,068 meters). Happy birthday!
Is there anywhere else in the world where you can start your day with breakfast on the beach and hit the ski slopes in the afternoon? 🌴⛷
Los Angeles?
@ really? 🤩
Sure, try Vancouver, south of Spain,

Oregon! Beach and mountains to ski are just 1 1/2 hours from each other - and it’s not just any mountain - it’s a volcano- Mt Hood
So cool to know! Thank you! 😄
Love your videos as always! Whistler and Vancouver similar set up
👍 Minus the warm weather in winter, I guess 😉
@ that’s true😊
Or in summer, the water is going to be super chilly.

Thank you!!! California is so similar to the French Riviera in so many aspects… 🤩😊🤩
Hopefully you can try a better mountain next time. Great video.
Thanks!! Auron is great! We wish we could have shown you the higher areas, all white and sunny… bad luck with the wind. 😅
@ Yes, it was still amazingly beautiful. Somehow I was expecting to see more snow in January. Thank you for sharing such a great trip.
@ we were too!!! 🫣
Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag 💫🍀
🤩🤩🤩
👍
😊😊😊
I’m originally from Los Angeles, God help them, and there you can go surfing, hiking, skiing - all in a day.
Never been! 😳
@ They’ve been in a firestorm for a week. Lots of loss. 🥺
Cyprus although I think the skiing is a bit 'hit or miss'.
👍
The only places in the US I can think of are Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire or New York. All of them have nice beaches and great skiing.
👍 So there‘s more places than we thought! 😅
I think Vancouver is the same.
Right! Just maybe not warm enough for a breakfast on the beach? 😉
