    I'm so glad that I grew up in the 40's with all of the cowboy heroes such as Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Charles Starrett as The Durango Kid to name a few. It was a wonderful time to be a kid.

      I know that Roy was widower with 3 young children when he married Dale Evans. They only had one biological child together, a little girl, whom Roy’s first three children were very protective of. She was born with Down’s syndrome, and she passed away when she was quite young. Roy and Dale also adopted some more children into their Family, but I’m not sure how many.

      Dodie on Roy's lap, lives in a southern state with husband, on Patterson, who has a band and plays at different venues and usually at the Roy Rogers festival in Portsmouth Ohio each summer. He also was a NASA employee. Cheryl Rogers Barnett is on TH-cam with interviews and other things, just search Cheryl Barnet on TH-cam. The little Korean girl on Dale's lap, Debbie, passed in a Church bus accident in 1964. Roy Rogers, jr. known as Dusty standing beside Roy, has a band appearing at Branson for many years which included his son who looks a lot like a Young Roy. they also play in other functions thru out America. Linda married a minister and after he passed n 2008 she continues to live in California. Sandy the boy from Ky, insisted on going in the Army and he choked to death while in a military hospital which sounds strange to me. Mimi married a Marine at 17 years old and he passed away at a young age and she raised their children. Dale's son from first marriage, Tom Fox, was a teacher and music minister. He passed n 2012.

    Can you imagine a man pulling out a pistol and spinning it on his finger in such a threatening fashion?? Unthinkable by our over-protective squeamish snowflake society these days. Roy was a great man of faith, kind, generous, with high morals and ethics all his life.

    • @Boospoochie
      @Boospoochie 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Charles Taylor ~ Oh, shut up. I will take my judgment from God, thank you very much. I'm thinking God doesn't need your help. Good grief, you can't even watch a Roy Rogers video anymore without someone proving that there is always a turd in the punch bowl. That turd would be YOU, Charles along with a lot of help from biggy fries. The 50s & 60s were very different times when six-shooters were a normal sight on TV westerns and military weapons were reserved for the military--not for school shootings. That just might be the reason that nobody objected. Sadly, things are not like that anymore and it's usually some bigoted, narrow-minded self-appointed holy-roller like you that thinks it's his job to set everybody straight. I don't remember ever reading about Jesus being as judgmental as you. Also, in case you missed it... this country was founded on NOT involving religion in its government. This country was founded on freedom--religious freedom as well as freedom FROM religion. THAT's why folks came here; to avoid persecution. Speaking of "snowflakes," the only snowflake here appears to be you.

    Cave lion, the real Trigger was a pure cow pony that could turn on a dime, not a half Tennessee Walker, I have Roy on video saying that.

    • @gerrydooley951
      @gerrydooley951 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's true. Trigger Jr. in this video is a Walker

    • @Boospoochie
      @Boospoochie 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a lot of confusion here about the various Triggers. The original Trigger--the one in nearly all the movies was half Thoroughbred and half cold-blood. His registered name was Golden Cloud and his first movie role was in "Robin Hood." He was Maid Marion's horse. Maid Marion was played by Olivia de Haviland. Trigger Jr. was a Tennessee Walker and is the horse we see in this video. His registered name was Allen's Golden Zephyr. Then there was Little Trigger/Lil' Trigger (various spellings). Not as much is known about him, but he was used for many personal appearances as well as visiting children in the hospital. He is also the Trigger that starred in the movie "Son of Paleface." He did a similar dance routine in that movie that Trigger Jr. does in this clip. He was much shorter, stockier (like a true cow pony) and had a lighter coat color. He had four white stockings like Trigger Jr., but they didn't go as far up the legs--especially on the back legs. Then finally, there was another palomino that was originally supposed to be Dale's mount. This horse was named Pal. Pal was a dark palomino and had one white sock in front and two on the back.. Roy thought that it was too confusing for children to see Dale on a horse that looked so much like Trigger, so Buttermilk became her mount and Pal did personal appearances and later on became Cheryl Rogers personal horse. Deb Kerr, you may have Roy on video saying that Trigger was a pure cow pony, but there is no such breed as "cow pony." Any horse with "cow sense" can be a cow pony, but typically cow ponies are Quarter horses, but there are horses of many breeds that can be good cow ponies. And don't forget that Roy was also promoting a character for children and cowboys ride cow ponies. That's why there was so much secrecy about there being more than one Trigger. Roy didn't want to disappoint or confuse the children.
