    Thanks Tony, Im really looking at using Cloudways so thanks for this. One thing - many servers that offer Wordpress these days have CPanel, which offers pretty simple install of Wordpress (fill in desired username etc) then one-click

      Yeah as you can see Cloudways has a very comparable feature of one click installs of WordPress. Would you be hosting multiple websites with Cloudways?

      @@TonyTeachesTech Tony can you do a SPEED TEST between the page builders? Elementor , Oxygen, Beavy, DIVI...?

    • @TonyTeachesTech
      @TonyTeachesTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@viviniateunga9986 with the exact same page layout on each of these page builders, you won't see a difference in performance, especially if you are caching your pages (which I highly recommend you do). Understand that these page builders simply generate html/css/js. Once the pages and assets are generated, the page builders are completely out of the picture i.e. they aren't dynamically assembling your page when a user requests them.
      If you did end up choosing Cloudways, they have the Breeze plugin with varnish caching (stay tuned for some videos on varnish in the very near future)

    You can't imagine how you are helping me and other noobs server users like me! Thank you Tony and i will make sure to use your links whenever i sign up for any of these services. I have a question, Can you please do a tutorial on how to setup email on the server? I mean on cpanel i was just creating email accounts and it automatically generates all the required info like POP3 & Imap configuration but i don't know if i can do the same without the need to cpanel using cloudways platform?

    • @TonyTeachesTech
      @TonyTeachesTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Appreciate the kind words Ahmed :)
      In general, I don't recommend hosting your own email server. Spam filters nowadays are extremely tough and your emails would most likely not get through. There is many different certs and DNS records that you must get just right in order to have a working email server. In my opinion, not worth the hassle.
      If you're planning on moving to Cloudways, they have this article which talks about options for emails support.cloudways.com/do-you-provide-servers-for-email-hosting/. The Rackspace email addon seems promising depending on how many email accounts you need. Looks like they have aliases too.
      If you have many email accounts, you'll probably want to stick with cPanel because of cost. Most of my email accounts are hosted with Namecheap which uses cPanel. I have my actual websites hosted on VPS. With Namecheap's Stellar plan, you'll get unlimited email accounts for $4.88/mo (plus unlimited shared hosting). The only downside to this is that you'll still have to set up and manage the DNS records for your email. This gets slightly complicated when your domain name is from somewhere else.
      I would like to one day do an email tutorial, but I can't promise anything soon.

      Cloudways has it's own web-based dashboard where you can configure most standard settings at the server level and at the application (WordPress) level. As for a file manager, you'll need an FTP client like FIlezilla to manage your files.
