Casey is the man and a legend. Casey's stage presence was something real. He really knew how to put on a show. His rock out moves on stage were so natural.
David Samaniego Yeah and he was really down to earth and genuine. He died a month before my dad died so I always think of him when I think of my dad which is weird but just the way my mind works.
I love how Caseys tone is a little darker and Micah's tones a little brighter, they compliment each other perfectly and nobody gets drowned out and everything is crystal clear 👌
I love how humble Casey was! He wasnt like "Im the best shredder and screamer ever" (even though he was the best screamer IMO) he lifted others up instead of himself and for that I have much respect for him. Rest In Peace Casey. You will, are, and forever will be missed.
All the love for Casey, but Micah deserves a nod too. He’s so eloquent and earnest in this interview. If I’m not misreading it, he even encourages Casey and I think it’s to instill confidence in his bandmate. It’s like an older brother looking out for his younger sibling. When he abruptly praises Casey as being a better player than himself, you can’t help but smile. Top lads both.
I could never see these guys perform live because I was just too young to go to a concert. It’s just nice seeing more into what they were like back in the day, especially Casey who inspired me to get into scream vocals and guitar playing. Rest In Peace, dude. Thanks for everything
RIP Casey! You’re amazing and we miss you every day! I hear your screams almost every day and I will always remember you! You’re with us in our hearts!!!
Glad I found this on TH-cam. This video was on the CD-ROM of the first issue of Guitar World I ever had back when I was in middle school. I was just getting into guitar playing at that point and although I never listened to HH, I learned sat through and learned all the parts on this video. Was bummed out to later hear about Casey's death. These songs will always bring good memories. RIP, man.
One of the best quotes ever "I taught myself (how to play guitar) which I didn't really teach myself very much but..." :O) No wonder he connected so well with the fans...someone said he brought the "screaming" to another level and in a popular band yet remained a regular guy.
I always loved how they had 3 guitar players and actually USED the capabilities of such a configuration! There are times when all 3 play something different, so so cool!!
I can tell Casey was on some thing in this video, and you can hear the depression and his comments. I’ve listen to these guys for over 18 Years minimum and never realized whole story till recently. Now that I’ve got kids almost his age just makes you think twice.
Do any of you guys know what amps they used? I actually like their tone, that's strange because I'm not a huge fan of their music lol... nontheless, great video!
does anyone know how to play caseys intro part for saying sorry? either theyre not playing in standard and ill never get the right sound or im just blind.
these guys will forever be legends IMO. you can see the Metallica influence in all that downpicking on Ohio is for lovers. caseys playing is so fucking good dude holy shit. Micah's is good too but not on the same level if you really listen.
This comment is so crazy to come back too...I’m a Christian now and always wondered how bad my language was when I wasn’t saved. I’ve changed so much in 4 years.
3:24 after knowing their influences, i expected their choice of picking to be the opposite here lol. Micah with the more punk geared downpicking, and Casey with the alternate. Noice lol
What kind of guitar does Mica plays? It looks like a gibson les paul but the headstock is different, and it sure doesn't look like an epiphone either. Could be hagstrom? can anyone tell me?
Wild how this dude can cite Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, and Black Sabbath as influences, says he was in funk and jazz bands... yet his playing sounds like that. Dude can't even count off at the right tempo
RIP Casey.

I just posted the same thing a year later. I feel ya brother.
This brought tears to my eyes. RIP Casey. Can't believe it's been this long.
punkrock4life it makes me sad that he looks so happy and chill, but he left to soon.
I always thought it was kinda cool that these guys weren't afraid to play Epiphones.
Those Epi Elitist models were everywhere back then
I'm a drummer not guitarist so don't get mad at me but what is wrong with Epiphones
@@yofoxy9940 yeah right hahaha
@@yofoxy9940epiphone to Gibson is like Pacific to DW. A grade lower.
Nothing wrong with Ephs. MCR did the same thing and G's don't add anything more.

The guitar parts in this band were truly great. Each guitar both complimented each other with different lines, truly great. R.I.P Casey.
Keep coming back to this video, there's so much to love here. R.i.P Casey
RIP Casey. Gone but never forgotten.

Years later I come back to this. You two had a golden touch together. There so subtle intricacies that are very impressive.
I rewatch it on occasion too. It’s incredibly bittersweet.

I'm so glad I was able to see them in '05 at Warped. That day is still my best memory.❤
Gosh they are so great! Seeing Casey makes me want to cry, le left us with such great music which I will always be thankful for! R.I.P C.K.
Rest in peace Casey, I still listen almost every day buddy!
rest in peace Cassey Calvert
I started listening to them well over a decade ago and they are one of the groups that's made me pickup guitar. I love their instrumental sound.
Still hear you scream on HH songs! You still alive with us bro. Can't believe your gone :/
Diesel Burner *you’re
skezxh damn just caught that lol
This needs to be in a Museum ❤️🔥
Rest In Power Casey 🖤
I miss Casey so much, a idol, a inspiration, a hero, R.I.P.
i have seen this video so many times, its just makes me so happy seeing caseys face and seeing both micah and casey interact with eachother
Rip casey!!! The band will never be the same without you dude!!! Wish i could'Ve seen you guys when you were still alive bro!!!😢

@@angstisdead6710 this is like meeting a long lost sibling 😩
@@7EEVEE same feels:)
i didn't become a fan til after casey died... now, i have just about all their music. their music keeps him alive.
I always loved how they had 3 guitar players and actually USED the capabilities of such a configuration! There are times when all 3 play something different, so so cool!!
2021, still listening. RIP Casey.
So cool that they made a video like this. I actually learned how to play their songs with this
Casey was the dude man
I'm going to see HH play with Bayside tomorrow night, really cool to find this video just the day before with casey wearing the bayside tee.
I love you Micah! and all fo Hawthorne Heights! Of course, Casey. You are loved and missed
RIP CASEY CALVERT!
its too bad this band lost that man.... i still love me some hawthorne i just miss that scream

This is one of those speechless moments. I can imagine all the hours they put in behind the scenes right now.
This is beautiful footage
Epiphone Elitest Les Paul Custom, Made from Gibsons selected wood stock, made in japan with Gibson Hardware

He might have just been in poor form but I read it that he doesn’t feel comfortable being interviewed. Different man when he’s playing.
Do any of you guys know what amps they used? I actually like their tone, that's strange because I'm not a huge fan of their music lol... nontheless, great video!
Aldo Zanelli Mesa
I still can’t believe Casey passed away , RIP man
Casey is such a legend
This is so perfect.
Listening to the song again Casey is in the left channel in the intro, but the right in the verse. It's weird
Awesome songs to learn and play. RIP Casey
Casey is so missed it’s scary that band needs Micah back.
does anyone know how to play caseys intro part for saying sorry? either theyre not playing in standard and ill never get the right sound or im just blind.
Hawthorne Heights has always had my favorite guitar tones. Anyone know how I can recreate them? Maybe just give me high mid low settings?
Fuck yeah, metallica and tool!
these guys will forever be legends IMO. you can see the Metallica influence in all that downpicking on Ohio is for lovers. caseys playing is so fucking good dude holy shit. Micah's is good too but not on the same level if you really listen.
I'd say it's the other way around, and Casey's faces are awful haha

i still don't understand how time has went by so fast. it's scary
Scary indeed
Oh, fuck, Casey 😭 I wasn't expecting this when looking for cords.
RIP Casey! We miss you

Micah: Epiphone Les Paul Custom Elitist (which i wish they still made cuz i want one)
Casey: Gibson Les Paul Custom

honestly, the band has some dope riffs
Nice! RIP Casey!
rip bro... the band died with you
jsmeezy121679 who tf do you think founded the band in the first place bruh?
the band is still alive.
Jay Burris Wayne Just because you found the band doesn’t mean that it’s good because you did it, Casey gave Heights that edge we all loved.
Not it didn't. They're working harder than ever and putting out incredible music.
I wouldn’t say it died but the band was truly never the same after he passed.
Couldn’t agree more. They went down hill when Casey Overdosed.
Ain't the same without you Casey bro 😭
Hes wearin a bayside shirt what a boss
Rest in peace casey😔
i love metallica and all those other bands
Casey was so cute
/: this makes me wanna cry... I miss casey
Dudes jaw is f@$ked!😂
who else found out they were playing caseys part of saying sorrys intro wrong? with the chords
that bayside shirt mayne

What kind of guitar does Mica plays? It looks like a gibson les paul but the headstock is different, and it sure doesn't look like an epiphone either. Could be hagstrom? can anyone tell me?

y does everyone love casey calvert?
I watched because Casey was in it tbh
Rust In Peace Casey Calvert.. \m/ !
Big nerds haha. Casey miss you man
@salvadorjr1972 nonsense theyre pretty much the same thing just one is made in America and the epiphone somehow has a crap ton of more sustain
Arms are clean, so no razor blades, at least. 😂😂😂
@SpitfireZero According to a thumbed up comment, it's a Ephiphone Les Paul, not completely sure tho'. :O
name the guitars now youtube!
If only micah and casey were still in the band. With emo orchestra and when we were young festival...hawthorne heights would be better...
I saw them live micah played an explorer
The true emo hair was pretty much gone in this video, so was that a phase?
Wild how this dude can cite Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, and Black Sabbath as influences, says he was in funk and jazz bands... yet his playing sounds like that. Dude can't even count off at the right tempo
He could still tell you you’re 20 years late coming in with this
yeah, super late reply but it's definitely an Epiphone.
does anyone got the tab for saying sorry?
