The only tool they have was Arlott's flicker+final slash, and that's not really a threat against the caliber of Kelra. Bruno's main strength is his range (malefic gun's passive) and crits, and those two aspect happened to be Layla's main strength too and she's better than Bruno on those department. It's pretty much Lava vs Fire.
When did you start watching? Not a fan of his play style but 50/50 retri battles was always been his major strength. Try to rewatch the M3 series vs Blacklist, he outretri Wise. And of course against Kairi in M4 where he completely outclassed him on 50/50 battles. I don't know the exact numbers but he also outretri Kingkong this series.
