I just replaced the pickups because I had to turn my amp really loud for them to make a sound, but I can honestly say that guitar makes me play more and better. The problems your facing are so easy to solve. Setting the internation is so easy, and you may as well put stainless steel frets in next time they need replacing
If you dont already have stainless steel frets i would highly suggest getting stainless steel next time you decide to replace them. They are much tougher than the usual nickel frets which sucks for your luthier and their tools but when they get those things polished up they are incredibly smooth and durable
I picked up a 2015 MIM standard. It is perfect compared to the USA's I tried. No fret sprout, perfect fit and finish. Guitars will not intonate properly when you wear the crown off of the frets. Just have them re-crowned.
To some degree. It's possible the reason for poor intonation is because of a sub standard fret replacement. But yes it can definitely be improved with truss rod adjustments, string gauge changes and saddle/nut adjustment.
You don’t need to death grip.. and bends bro, don’t push down on the strings so hard.. Good stainless steel frets should outlast your fretboard.. This is real world advice from a 4 year newb.. When your only criticism with the guitar comes from I literally play it too much maybe it’s time to considering stainless steel frets

I have a thing about bound Tele's. Bound is good, double bound is better. Two sets of frets in three years? Wow! You may need stainless steel frets.
or Jescar EVO frets. The hardness is between stainless and nickel-silver (std frets). They're slightly gold, barely noticeable on a guitar.
