Well, DMG wasn't ok my Jesse deck bucket list. I think especially since the support is not good enough and too old at this point, it is not an interesting deck to build.
There is another good use for Souls of Magician: Gate Guardian! It sends Kazejin to GY and can then send the spell/traps as well, to draw and then search Kazejin, Suijin and Sanga. Funny deck!
Armed Dragon got an insane new card in INFO and it’s only a matter of time until it comes to MD. Once it does I’d love to see your take on the deck! I’ve been cooking with it for over 4 years and am in need of a new set of eyes on it

Jesse could've used Shining Sarc with the DM archetype. Its highly competitive!
I'm not a fan of Dark Magician or anything but I had fun brewing with the structures anyway. Kashtira is good to mix, with Birth and Eternal Soul you're making a rank 7 every turn.
But my personal favourite was using Magician's Restage with Effect Veiler and Droll for some nice link climbing and Hand searchers to stop the enemy's spells and traps, including Super Poly
The recent treatment hat BE had, gives me hope that Dark Magician will get properly supported in the future.
Really hoping to see charmers, it's the deck that brought me back to the game. It's hard to see a list that had both the little girls and their grown up versions. I have so many versions of the deck. Magistus is an easy choice. In master duel I have a fairy tail and horus version. I'm trying out some ecclesia/Dogmatika engines. Haven't been able to get witchcrafter cards to check them out. Funny enough gravekeepers have a lot of 1500 DEF spellcasters, but idk what the cards do. Almost all the versions I have are 60 cards because it's bricky It's a deck that can go a lot of ways, so would love to see youre take!
I use the fact that DM is a normal monster. I use cards like “champion’s vigilance” and “ proof of powerlessness”. Very helpful and catches people off guard.
What a legend... I just wish you would have done the same for Dark Magician in the TCG, would love to see your take on a Dragoon-focused DM deck

@@jessekottonygo make sure to check out MatchieYGO to reference what the current theory is on competitive DM in TCG. I'd love to see you push the deck even further from where it is now rather than rediscover what is now widely known tech like Quem/Cartesia/Toy Box.
probably an unsearchable card (except you use diabellstar) would have been sinful spoils of doom - rciela. it blows up monsters and protects the spellcaster you target. it only needs to target a level 7 or higher spellcaster monster you control

This is cool asf. I run a similar list and I like to run a bystial package to open up for more synchro play. The end board is a bit more generic rather than DM but it can make up to 8 interruptions going 1st.
Isn't Toy Box an archetype that little Yugi uses in the manga? So I think this deck is even more Yugi/DM-era BatChest than Jesse realizes.

Made a dm deck back when souls came out. It was beast.. used tenyi as a secondary archtype. It was prety slick. Used blue tenyi when they would pop my trap destroys but the blue will bring it back.
I'd love to see a Drytron build in the future, but I have to say this is a nice build, even though I quit master duel a while ago. Thanks for sharing!
For Master Duel, I think Runick DM might be the better, or at least a more flexible, choice. Very fun build.

26:50 you could have also special summoned DMG from Tanks effect and special DM thanks to Salvations effect and banish one card with circle, then Synchro DMG and Soldier into Chaosangel and banish one more card
The outcome would have been the same here, but think this is overall the better play

Unpopular opinion but I want to see your take on Red Dragon Archfiend + enhanced metalmorph variant because lvl 5+ fiend/dragon gets out the boss monsters. Or just RDA in general.

Dark Magician The knight of Dragon magic? Is that not considered good? I use it a lot. Giving all your monsters piercing feels pretty good
It’s pretty much trash. If you can summon that thing, you’re gonna summon Dragoon or Dragon Knight instead.
That card is a decent answer against something like Crooked Cook though. But that’s about it. The Knight of Dragon Magic could be good one day if a card comes out that can destroy a monster straight in the Extra Deck just as a way to summon DM and a Dragon. That’s probably a pipe dream though.

A lot, very different deck because you build around a different boss monster
Would this deck not benefit a lot from chicken game? It is basically the same effect as upstart goblin, but can be sent with magician's soul for an extra draw.
The main justification i can think for not playing it is if you don't have souls access or hit chicken game after souls effect, because then your opponent can use it for an extra draw
It can but imo you’d have to play a Doabellatar engine with it just so you have additional ways to send it to the GY. Nothing worse than leaving that card on the field into the opponents turn so they gain free advantage.

Now do a version of this that utilizes the Shining Sarcophagus. Great engine, and you can just use the really good (on field) Dark Magician cards. It’s got no extra deck cards so you can just do your game plan, load up the ED with Dark Magician fusions, then Eye of Timaeus out the fusions when you aren’t ED locked. Magicians’ Souls fits in well too since the Shining Sarc deck has so many spells. With the new Dark Magician retrain you can search many of the good board breakers which fits in great since Shining Sarc has so many potential negates/interruptions. Makes the deck flexible for going first or second and runs almost entirely on cards from both engines, lots of options, and ways out of bricking.

I disagree that this is the best way to play the deck. I think runick is definitely a way better engine to run, and has synergy with both the toy box engine and dark magician engine.
