Then they promptly banned them from competition. Since NASCAR became a word, they've done a lot of changing. But they've always been chasing the money.... just ask Toyota. it's not a national event anymore.... can't even get a rule book unless you're an engine builder or a team owner... probably just as well... by the time you get it it'll have been changed three times anyway! No those ones have severe mental disabilities because of the multi-generational inbreeding down there. They don't even know up from down. The rest are pure bigots.
Repeated, for posterity, from a previous post of mine: That ANV (Army of Northern Virginia) flag was brought back to prominence, especially in southern states, following the 1954 Brown decision by the SCOTUS as a form of a so-called "Massive Resistance" campaign by the White majority to stop or slow schools from integration. Of interest here, and the reason for the phrase "brought back to prominence" is the fact that the flag was used inconsistently in actual battles fought during the Civil War and was subsequently copyrighted by the S.C.V. and the U.C.V. after the war had ended. It took many months for the Confederacy to officially decide on a uniform symbol for their newly-formed militias. The southern states' primary motivation (c.f., each state's so-called declaration of secession documents, as well as Alexander H. Stephens' "Cornerstone Speech," for example) for engaging in insurrection against the US was for the singular cause of slavery. The flag was, and still is, meant as a middle finger gesture against the US federal government's efforts to dismantle Jim Crow legislation following milestone events such as the aforementioned Brown decision, the integration of the US armed services in 1948, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, to name just a few. The flag was often used by the Ku Klux Klan as a form of visual intimidation, along with other famously known symbolic events designed to sow terror into the Black community and its supporters. The flag represents White nationalism, a.k.a., White supremacy, and the idea that Whites are the superior race. These are, coincidentally, the same views held by the German government from 1933-1945. In fact, those Germans sent envoys to the US to study its racial caste system in order to more aptly apply these concepts to their own country. They did find some of the racialized ideas espoused in the south as being too harsh--the "one drop" policy, in particular, comes to mind. So while a symbol is just that--a symbol--that particular symbol has deep roots to racist ideologies. One of those racist ideologies was a major impetus to the rise of the Third Reich in Germany and the proximal reason more than 50 million people lost their lives. Not to mention this cause--slavery and its ties to White supremacy--led to the bloodiest battle ever on US soil in the form of the US Civil War. But for so many people, their perceived individual right to discriminate somehow justifies the continued use and display of a widely recognized symbol of hate and intolerance, with undeniable ties to radicalized and often unspeakable violence. These types of symbols belong somewhere--not on a popularly televised cultural relic, but rather in a museum, for the purposes of informing current and future generations about the lessons of racism, discrimination, and the horrific costs associated with allowing it to be unchallenged. The flag itself should never be forgotten nor forbidden, for in doing so would be a great injustice to those throughout the centuries who fought and gave their lives so that society could become more free for everyone--not just for a select few based solely on an arbitrary measure like skin color. As MLK posited: "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

Umm, not even close to a good analogy. There is not way anyone with even a tiny bit of logical thought would make the leap you just described. That being said at the time the writers and the prop department was ignorant to those facts and only saw it as an major symbol of the south because it was such a widely seen symbol in the south thus the show and the car were never meant to represent anything negative.
@adamn7516 first of all, the civil war was fought because of the South wanting to succeed from the north. The Confederate flag was not about racism. The KKK (who was backed by the Democrat party) adopted the flag as their own, which is why people refer to it as racist. And as slavery goes (you can Google it), the first person to go to the courts Demanding to own slaves was a black man. There was a bunch of blacks, Mexicans, and other races who fought in the civil war.

No those ones have severe mental disabilities because of the multi-generational inbreeding down there. They don't even know up from down. The rest are pure bigots.
Not all Northerners are bigoted either....well, most aren't.
Repeated, for posterity, from a previous post of mine:
That ANV (Army of Northern Virginia) flag was brought back to prominence, especially in southern states, following the 1954 Brown decision by the SCOTUS as a form of a so-called "Massive Resistance" campaign by the White majority to stop or slow schools from integration.
As MLK posited: "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

without the flag it is just a car.
It's just a car anyway....
Yep it's just a car
@@edwardclark9057 my point is the flag makes it the icon it is without it it is just bland.
As the Great-great granddaughter of a Union soldier, I say that we must remember our history and also honor those who died, even the ones on the opposing side! And, as a child of the 80's, I say "Yee Haw!"
It’s the General Lee, a flipping TV show. Get over it already
If someone says get rid of the Confederate flag it shows me they have NEVER DONE RESEARCH ON WHAT THE COLORS OF THE CONFEDERATE FLAG ACTUALLY REALLY REPRESENT
That shows you do not know what you are talking about. First off that is not the Confederate flag, it is the battle flag of Northern Virginia. That flag is a symbol of the South trying to succeed form the United States so they could keep slaves believing Africa Americans where inferior the White men. The Rebel flag is regularly used by the KKK to spread hate.
Exactly and they probably don't want to know the truth. Easy to find on YT --- Behind The Dixie Stars
Why are you yelling?
I just ran across this channel and I can't get enough! This guy an his daughter are so awesome working together and they're funny too 😂. The father is just a really cool guy.
Why is the car controversial? Cuz of the flag? Give me a damn break
Yeah, gee wizz, I wonder why! God Hates Flags?
It's just a battle flag
@@richardwarfordjr.5622 And why did the South fight this war?
@@UberLummoxSame reason the colonists fought the revolution.
@@UberLummox because the north had all the political power and were inacting laws that gave them even more.
Then when the south seceded, the north fired on ft sumter starting the war.
Censorship not sensorship. Sensors are things that sense things, like a motion sensor…
The censors sensed something sensational and decided to censor.
youtube doesnt like the c word
The traitor flag is an easy way to pre-screen day laborers for when you're having work done. Dude shows up in a truck with stars-n-bars then we're good for the day.
Well, the last time I checked, the flag didn't belong to the network...
I'm sure if the network did not want this segment to air, it would not have aired.
Leave the flag
There is a decal on the back you missed - but great job, amazing work!!
The Confederate Flag rules...😊oh yea, baby ..... I'll support the flag until they pry it away from my lifeless Hands...an I suggest all true Americans do the same 😊
American By Birth A Southern By The Grace Of GOD !
Im sick of everyone thinking that the rebel flag is racist, its depends on the person that holds it. I know a black guy in north Carolina that stands on a bridge all day long holding a Confederate flag and a sign that says heritage not hate
Fact--the flag is a symbol of the Confederacy which fought a bloody war to keep slavery. Btw I have no problem with the flag on that car because it is an iconic car that represents a popular TV show.. However, i do have a problem with people who like to rewrite history and pretend that slavery had nothing to do with the Civil War--that is just plain stupid.
I believe the word is "censorship".
Trumpster spelling.
@@UberLummox No, That would be in all caps.
Censorship and BS

IN MY OPINION...the FLAG isn't the problem,,,ITS SOME OF THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE FLAG!!and the way they use THE FLAG!!
Who is they ? Please elaborate
@@JS-zb1vvOh like the kkk,Neo-Nazis and the like. I suspect that’s who “they” is.
@@JS-zb1vv People like you.
How can you not associate the flag with it's meaning and the creeps that were/are pro-slavery?
every culture has been built on slavery. A flag doesn’t represent slavery. Should we ban all current flags ? Since America was built with slavery along with every country in the world. You can’t ban a flag on feelings . The pyramids still stand the Great Wall of china. The Aztec pyramids are still huge forms of accomplishment. All built on slaves!!
Probably the same network that makes you do your show like a frickin' soap opera. I stopped watching it because of that stupidity.
Agree 100%.
You know, if you REALLY wanted to be TV show accurate, you'd make the roof decal out of electrical tape like the crew did to the TV cars
Everything woke turns to shit!
Haha she said that's an iconic car. No no no doll it's the most badass car ever created.
