Different parts of the submarine are built in different countries that specialize in specific part of the sub, in addition they do this with planes and ships as well. Then they bring all the parts together an assemble on site. It’s a speedy way of finishing large projects. Don’t worry that was an education free of charge: 😊

It's amazing how something so big can be made with such precision.
Think of a cruise ship. Imagine all the plumbing, wiring, heating, AC, engines, electronics. Oy Vey. Each section has to line up nearly perfectly. It's mind boggling they can do it. Then it ALL has to work properly.

What boat were you attached to? I spent 6 years on the USS Permit SSN 594 Sister ship to the USS Thresher SSN 593 I was part of the team that helped redesign the sub from Sail Planes back to Bow. I dated a young lady who's father was one of the engineers for EB.

I wasn't aware that US submarines were manufactured in South Korean shipyards. (4:45) Pretty sure they're fabricated in Connecticut and/or Maine. Also pretty sure they don't have vacation passenger staterooms! (10:29).

Having been a certified US Navy welder, I can tell you that back in 1980 ALL TRIDENT subs were started at Quonset Point, Rhode Island and then those prefab sections went to Connecticut to be assembled in dry dock like slices of a hot dog. 688 class, Seawolf and a few others as well. The USS Ohio, Florida, Rhode Island, the USS Los Angeles, Providence... my name is on the inside of many hulls as I welded on them. No staterooms, but they say there's room on the subs for everything but a mistake...

None of these screws are submarine screws. They are NEVER shown. If a boat is in dry dock they cover the screw or even mount a fake one under water before docking the boat.
What is the reason for that?
@@derekmurray1462 The shape of the screw used to be one of the closest kept secrets. Because it is the biggest contributor to the noise of the boat under water.
No longer that important as most players have figured that part out. But still...
