Hi Steve, like the flat grind with the Elk scales. Does it have a slightly tapered tang couldn't quite tell. I agree with your thoughts about gathering twigs for kindling. All the best for the season.
Andrew Hall Thank you Andrew! Yes that knife does have a tapered Tang. I actually mentioned that in a couple of other videos I did showing that knife. Didn't fill it was necessary to mention it this time. I apologize for the lighting. I know it left a lot to be desired. But you caught it. It is definitely tapered. Happy New Year to you and God bless!
Actually there's a very good TH-cam video on the Bowie knife and how it evolved. From what I understand Jim Bowie's original knife prior to the famous clip point was more of a fancy looking butcher knife which is what a lot of people back then carried. They carried that or a sword. Thanks a lot for checking in. God bless!!
Beautiful knives :)

Thanks for checking in friend! And a Happy New Year to you as well!
Not a bad looking knife in the bunch and the sheaths were top shelf, I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite out of the bunch.

What do you think the original Bowie knife looked like. You should do a video on it.
