RV TRIP FAIL| POCAHONTAS STATE PARK (RICHMOND, VA)

- 🤦 When things don't go as planned...
🚐 This RV life is not always rainbows and sunshine. Sometimes you run into factors that will prevent you from the things you wanted to do. Part lack of planning. Part bad weather. Part bad location. We do our best to roll with the punches though!
🏞️ Our mission to tout State Parks continues. We had planned a few days just outside of Richmond at Pocahontas State Park, Virginia's largest state park. The park itself is amazing with 3 different lakes, hiking and biking trails, beautiful RV spots and a 2,000 person amphitheater. We were able to enjoy a great 2.4 mile hike with the puppies on the Beaver Lake Trail. Unfortunately the weather prevented us from enjoying much more of the park than that.
We were also able to explore some of downtown Richmond as we checked out the Canal Walk area filled with shops, restaurants, beautiful street art and a slew of pedestrian bridges crossing the James River. We would have loved to see more Richmond had to offer but between things being closed and bad weather it just wasn't meant to be. So we decided to pivot our plans! Next stop Winston-Salem, NC.
Hi! We are Thomas and Victoria, and we are starting our adventure as full-time RV newbies. We sold our stuff and bought a truck and RV (all within 5 months). when no one is on that bridge, we ride bikes over it as fast as we can...it's a blast. funny dog dude, was really scared of that pup.
