- The United States dismissed Russian allegations of the US interfering in India's ongoing parliamentary elections. US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said, "No, of course, we don't involve ourselves in elections in India, as we don't involve ourselves in elections anywhere in the world." The US' response came after Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said the US wants to unbalance the internal political situation in India in order to complicate the general elections.
