Excellent sarengi accompaniment, we are missing these days with the harmonium replacing the sarengi, may be due to a dearth of good players who might not be in demand for the performers to earn a nice livelihood as an accompanist to a vocalist.

In this video is the tanpura being played is real or electronic ..cos I have loved the sound ..and I am not able to see anyone playing behind panditji ..if it's electronic ..plz let me know the makers name..
Sarangi exactly follows the Gayaki. It has the softness and presentation. Its sad that some Sarangi players could not give it the due dignity. Some of them took it to kothaas. Some of them always tried to clash with the main artists in the performances. This created a discredit to this wonderful instrument.
If you can please invite Ustad Mashkoor Ali khan and his Nephew Arshad who are direct descendants of Kirana gharana. You will be surprised at the khazana they have as gharana’s real custodians
