Hello Gael. Beautiful home you have created. I'm a 54 year old woman in the beginning phase of building my tiny house. What is your best advice? Any design regrets?
@@carinhiebert5441 hi carin. I watched hundreds of tiny home shows and videos to have an idea of what I wanted. This was the house available to me in the amount of my retirement so it wasn’t like I could really design as I wanted as this was a template for houses they were building at the time. I did get to pick fixtures paints floor etc. But it wasn’t till I really lived here for several months that I saw what wasn’t ideal. Shower space, stairs. I was able to add 6 ft on to the 20x8 so it was longer but if I knew and had the extra money at the time I would have made it a 28 and had a bigger bathroom. As money comes in I’ve been making a few modifications. Anyway watch the videos make lists definitely look into available places to put it as currently this can be VERY tricky concerning town city county and state laws. I paid for mine completely and I don’t have house payments. Hope this helps.

I dreamt myself to sleep recently thinking about Tranquility Tiny House Community. Gael and I are on the same wavelength. A couple of years ago I started to remodel my life with love. I wanted to love the paint on my walls, the curtains, the salt & pepper shakers, friends. Everything. It has made an incredible difference in my life. I enjoy tiny home videos because I love hearing people talk about how they designed in all the things that are important to them. "Blank" was important to me, is said in every single one. Bravo! I hope to be your neighbor someday.

I wish there were more communities like this, all over the country.
This is such a great model for life, built in community and focus on only the important things. Making friends in that environment must be lovely. A shared experience.

I would love to live in a tiny house in a tiny house community. Being widowed now these past 5 1/2 years I’ve learned to be far more thankful. She’s got a great outlook on life and out her windows!😊

Wow - how I love her little home! The home itself is beautiful; especially, to me, with the colors she'd chosen for both the exterior and interior. And, so many wonderful and beautiful pieces of art everywhere! And the quilts, and the crystals, and so much more. Really neat lady, too. And, of course, the cats... Love how she's really found a way to maximize what makes her happy in this smaller space. All the affirmations and personal art, adding in the fixtures she wants and taking some away that she doesn't need.
I would love to have a tiny house someday. When I was younger, I dreamnt of having a big house for me to retire and enjoy the rest of my life. But now, things have changed. Now that I am older, I realized that materials things really cannot make us happy. It is your inner peace that can bring happiness and tranquility in your life. We don't need a lot, we just need a piece of the cake, not the whole cake.
When I was young I bought a condo with 3 levels of stairs as I thought as I got older it'd keep my fit. Now that I'm older I almost kill myself on those stairs so I rent it out.

I really like Gael's tiny house. The colors are beautiful and I love that she made special places for her 2 cats! I could never live in a tiny house because I can't live without my 7 sewing machines, 3 of which are treadle machines. (And my husband has over 350 sewing machines! He repairs and restores vintage sewing machines.) The house I live in now is tiny enough for me. It's 1300 sq. ft and the cats love it, as do we. Thank goodness we have a big barn!

Gael, Being another Cat-Mama I relate. I'm down to 1 cat now, but love the fact you have Cinda & Rella, great names for your Fur-babies. Girls are great to have indoors, wonderful companions who ONLY complain if you forget to feed them on time. Enjoy your tranquility. GOD BLESS! They don't criticize if you forget to comb your hair or change your shirt. We don't need negativity.
The key is to retire as soon as possible so you can enjoy what is really important in stead of being stuck in the rat race chasing things.
Love her tiny house design and the community. What a beautiful place. She is lucky to have found it. I'm still looking. Before I get too old, pray I find a place I can afford and have some peace, nice neighbors and in the outdoors, but not too cold. Thank you for sharing this home.

I was allergic to the hair of cats, dogs..... and the ONION was the remedy ....I took 12 cápsulas of onion per day ,during a year, and afterwards I was ok, without any problems of ashma for being near cats, dogs , etc. 💙💛💗💫

Yellow is a really nice choice for your tiny home . I have always had cats but I have never seen a catio before , what a great idea for the kitty's to get a little fresh air or bird watching .

The yellow siding is cheery, and I like the colors. I stayed at Tiny Tranquility a few weeks ago and loved it. It's a blueprint for how communities (zoning) can welcome tiny homes on wheels as year-round living that can be in a community setting.

Very cute home but not practical if she wanted a bed. Where did she keep clothes? I love the colors and her painting and that painting her friend did of flowers. The area seems very nice too.
I won’t be able to use a bed again and if I did I could rework the loft. I like clothes and have more than most in a tiny. If you look under the stairs there are several closets. 3 of them are filled and anything extra I keep in my empty luggage!

Wow, did you get lucky with that lot on the end!!!! That was my main gripe with RV parks--the view was always of someone else's house way too close. The field looks like a lovely place to have a private conversation, something else that's rare in a planned community. Looks like a great deal of care was put into this place.
Love the location by the ocean...amazing. I bet the community is great too- way to really connect with people. She has a great site with privacy
If not so far from my two daughter’s and their families, I would love to live in that community! It’s beautiful and peaceful!
As a cat lady this woman is awesome! I love how she thinks about the happiness of the cats. She can also do a take down chain link fence outside for the cats. Rescue places use it and it is easy to do and will give the cats more space.

I just love this tiny house. The catio & loft for the kitties is great. It seems like a lot of people are using the turquoise color; am beginning to think it’s a metaphysical magical change occurring in the world bc I’m seeing it everywhere including in my home. Me too turquoise is great! I bought a futon chair that can turn into a bed if was needed and it’s turquoise. Im glad people are starting to embrace color again, it’s making nice pieces easier to find.

Tiny house communities reminds me of an up graded shot gun houses that you see in old Movies. These are lovely homes and more communities need to be available. Thank you for sharing her story and home.
