I never understood why this one was hated. I thought it was on par with the original with more action. It’s definitely a fun watch.
I think it’s because the shark was following Brody’s son Mike and Shawn. Like how did the shark know who are his relatives. I mean I love jaws 2 but I can see why some people didn’t like it
And this shark looks very fake
Jaws is a movie that doesn’t need a sequel. But this was a fun thrill ride to watch.
The first one had perfect pacing. The second had periods where the storyline just dragged and was not helped by a cast of screaming teenagers of whom the nicest one get chomped,
@@BabaAntho the shark was killing everybody throughout the film. 4 is when it got stupid.
Tina's shriek of "SHARK! " Still makes my blood run cold.
Roy scheider suggested to her the stutter when they filmed this and she went with it and it was perfect.
@@cc_1983 Kind of a shame the majority of the kids didn't pursue a career in acting, they all did a great job in this movie.
Tina's shriek of SHARK Still makes my blood run cold
Unfortunately both Tina and Jackie are going to need therapy for a long time. I was 8 when Jaws came out, and went in the ocean even after I saw the movie, but not too deep because I couldn’t swim yet. I guess I never put all the pieces together - shark + ocean + me = shark din-din. But today, when I’m so much older, and a little bit smarter, you couldn’t get me to go into the ocean for all the money in the world.

Jaws and Jaws 2 are more fun to watch than the rest of the sequels.
Oh well, JAWS 3D was just not ready enough for 3D. 😊
1 and 2 are classics.😊
@@israelcm7246 Like Batman 1989 and Batman Returns 1992.
Pure facts
We need a Jaws Sequel it’s need a Halloween 2018 treatment
I cannot get enough of this entire scene in this movie… The choreography for the boats to collide.. Mike stuck in the water. This was just such an intense scene, watching it as a kid and also watching it as an adult… A lot of people give JAWS 2 a bad rap, but this is one of my favorite movies.
jaws 2 is the best of the three sequel, or at least the less bad
Ann Dusenberry’s acting in the sh-sh-shark scene is first rate. Not just the execution of how she delivered her lines but she looked as genuinely petrified as you’ll ever see. I saw an interview with her discussing this scene and she modestly credits the sh-sh-shark line to Roy Scheider who suggested to add the panicked stammering. Jaws 2 is an extremely under -rated sequel.
ABSOLUTELY AGREE. SAW IT TODAY. Always said it. Powerful scene. She was outstanding. Roy was phenomenal in both Jaws
Ann Dusenberry s acting in the sh sh sh shark scene is first rate. Not just the
@@eddiefeeney9759 especially cosndiering he did what he could and more to opt out of those films post Jaws 1
Jaws and Jaws 2 are one of my favorite shark movies in the franchise
Me too
The actress who played Tina absolutely nailed the state of trauma. Flawless acting.
💯💯💯💯💯
Oh! Without a doubt! That just shows what a fantastic actress she was I mean you just saw her fear and felt her pain.
Jaws 2 is to Jaws what Halloween 2 is to Halloween. An excellent freaking sequel!!!
Nice comparison! I agree!!!
Halloween 2 is an underrated sequel.
@@DamningTooth1Halloween 3 is even better. Season of the Witch is genuinely one of the best films in the series.
Or Aliens compared to Alien.
Excellent scene. Imagine being on those flimsy little boats with only a bit of fabric separating you from a 25 foot great white. The boat collisions and the helicopter scene definitely make this movie.
My thoughts exactly, at least Brody and co. had a fully functioning boat for most of the run time.
The suspense of these jaws movies still gives me chills 😮 If you are young, give these a watch. Old but it's still great.
Gotta give Jaws 2 credit for respecting the characters and making the teenagers seem real, capable and able to manage the situation as best they can instead of just being a bunch of obnoxious idiots and stereotypes.
The scariest is the unknown of the deep blue and what lurkers beneath. Glad we got to see the shark attack. Such nostalgia
Go watch The Reef(2010). Trust me its such an amazing shark movie!!! And it has the absolutely talassophobia effect
@@kallo.patrik I saw it 1x..wasn't a fan
@kallo.patrik so if I have thalassophobia, will I be having nightmares if I watch that movie?
@@artemis009 well the soundtrack itself depressing enough imo. And it has som pretty scary and realistic images. Maybe u dont have nightmares but its gonna be ry effective

Roy Scheider said that he would not have done this movie if he wasn’t contractually obligated because he felt the first movie was perfect in every way.
That said it’s a respectable sequel
Jaws 2 is a lot better than people give it credit. It's a pretty damn good sequel and has some genuinely tense/scary moments. Tina's actress is brilliant in this scene. Totally believable and perfectly done.
To be fair, most of the people who praise it seem to do so because the other ones are worse. Do I think this movie is horrible? No, I think it's decent, but if those two didn't exist, would people be more fond of this one?
This sequel needs more love. 🦈🦈
It's not bad. Not as good as the first but not bad.
This sequel needs more love 🦈🦈
@@SalemGhassanHanna I agree! This sequel does need more love than what it gets but I have to admit that after Jaws 2 the other two sequels weren't as good as the other two were but not bad neither just not as good not as entertaining as the other two were. Really I should say after the first two the other three sequels weren't as good as the first two were cause I didn't know for a while but there was a fifth Jaws movie not technically part of the franchise but yet another one called" Cruel Jaws and as I said I didn't know about it for a while it was my brother that brought it to my attention it came out I think in 1995.
I thought it was great! This scene was intense.
I always thought the boat stunts in Jaws 2 were really well choreographed. Not the best sequel ever, but some good moments spread throughout. Not to mention Roy Schneider was ace, as always
Jaws 2 was a perfect sequel, if only the rest of the movies did the same 😢
What movies?
@@fenrislegacyjaws 3 and 4
@@Asherdaween Jaws three was stupid. It didn’t even have to do with these real characters. I believe the last one Jaws 4 The Revenge was pretty good. It was about the same characters
Totally. This movie is better than it gets credit for. Jaws 3 and 4 both were ludicrous, laughable, embarrassing and just all around shit movies.
@@annettehunt900 I didn’t even say it was good I told him about the other a
Sequels in jaws
1 & 2 are still the best masterpiece ever made and unforgettable...
Jaws 2 dose not get the credit it deserves. The set piece with Michael Brody and the shark is probable the best of all the Four movies.
I like how brucette casually just swims by marge and Sean at 7:13 as if to say " you're next marge, and you little guy I'll leave you for my sister in a few years" lol
Or daughter lol. I think the shark in Part 4 was supposed to be the offspring of the 1st 2 sharks.
Oh you may well be right :)
The shark brushing past Marge's boat is ominous. "See you later, Marge"
It's so funny how the shark didn't actually do anything and they all just threw themselves in the water.
Jaws 2 has always been my fav growing up. Probably because it’s geared more towards teens and I had a crush on the son. If it wasn’t part of the Jaws Saga, it probably would have been a Teen flick.
I had a massive crush on Donna Wilks
I love that you can see all the mechanics in the shark as it swipes the side of the boat LOL!
The shark attacking Tina's boyfriend & his body hitting the boat was the scariest scene to me in Jaws & Jaws 2 🦈 Terrifying.....
ONE OF THE BEST SEQUEL EVER MADE
Godfather 2 and Empire Strikes Back are better but Jaws 2 is pretty good
Jaws and Jaws 2...
Both movies are stunning ....this scene make me so nervous..😮
The Helicopter scene is very good
The sailboat attack was always my favorite scene in Jaws 2. When I was a kid, I would recreate this scene in my family's swimming pool, sitting on a raft as if it was one of the boats, and pretending the shark was attacking me.
Grew up on Long Island. Many summers were 3-4 days at the beach. Jaws 1-2 captured the 80s feel
Even though both movies came out in the 70s? Interesting
As someone who’s never even seen the first jaws…this scene was incredible 🤌🏽
I grew up watching these ... My absolute favourite nout beats jaws. 😘
Great sequel.
The first Jaws movies was the best one, but this was the scariest.
The nostalgia is real when watching this 😀
I quite liked Jaws 2 even though the character of Jackie was unsufferable with her incessant screaming (if only the shark ate her!). This sequence is well done though and Mike's narrow escape was one of the best moments in the film.
Jaws 2 definitely felt like an the 80s teen movie and I loved it
70s but ye teen movie of the era without phones Internet etc
Still better than the CGI today
🦈Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...🦈
I am more surprised that Jaws only had two victims during all of this.
If you're talking during the attacks on the teens than yes. But the shark gets a total of 7 kills throughout the movie. This shark wasn't playing around.
And it's too bad that the screamer girl wasn't one of them.
@@MalachiWhite-tw7hl lay off Jackie! She’s a Scream Queen solely based on this one film and yall gonna give her credit! Half of yall would be just a scared and frantic as her if you was stranded in the middle of the ocean with that monster
John Williams nailed it again 😊
Big-time!
the chopper and the pilot getting dragged down to the bottom was a great set piece
I like how they all worked together to make sure everyone's safe
4:20 Hey Bligh, did someone pop your balloon?
lol
One of the most underrated sequels. About as good as it could have been done with the best action scenes in the series
I remember seeing that movie in a theater when it came out (yes, I'm that old). Being French, I was rather proud that a French director had done such a good job, because honestly Jaws is a absolute masterpiece and it must not have been easy to follow in Spielberg's footsteps. The movie was pretty effective, the opening scene was impressive, and the one where Brody realizes there is a new shark in Amity's waters was truly chilling. And of course, having The GOAT himself coming back for a new amazing score was quite the bonus !
All in all, the movie is rather good, I would have to watch it again to see if it stood the test of time (I rewatched Jaws a few weeks ago, and boy oh boy does it still pack a punch, nothing wrong with it, not even the obviously fake shark !), but just seeing that scene reminded me how effective it was, and it seems to be holding on pretty well still. A good combination of not too ridiculous a screenplay, solid acting, good directing, and great music !
Maybe I'm too partial because of Williams's amazing, score, and the fact that Jeannot Szwarc went on to direct one of the most beautiful movies ever, Somewhere in time, but still, when you compare Jaws 2 to the next 2 movies (which I only saw on TV, and they really go from bad and silly to worse and ridiculous), you realize how good it actually is.
The actress playing Tina
in that moment where she's absolutely petrified is amazing.
Very well choreographed
They are more enjoyable to watch during the summers.
jaws and jaws 2 are the best of all❤😂
The music absolutely makes these movies.
I love that Ellen and Hendricks got more to do in this sequel.
This one was my favorite one as a child. Haven’t seen it in years. Seeing this brings back so many happy childhood memories that it almost make you emotional 😅🥹😢🥺
To this Day i do not understand why anybody would dislike Jaws 2. It's a absolute great Sequel. Original Story and the same Charme from the first Movie. I keep rewatching the first and the second every 1-2 Years.
JAWS A masterpiece
One of the best sequels ever! Poor Tina.
Thanks for censoring those naughty words. I can handle the shark attacks but I would never want to hear a bad word.
Jaws 2 wasn't bad, actually. Loads better than 3 (3D) and 4 (The Revenge).
Not quite. It was too mild and not enough blood, which made the attacks not scary at all
@@Firemarioflower In your opinion, yes. But in MINE, I thought it was pretty good.
@Firemarioflower
Marge's death is one of the scariest most painful deaths in movie history.
honestly Jaws 3 would have worked better if it was a Spoof on Jaws .....
@@Firemarioflower straight up !, that could have been because there was more deaths ??
Incredible Movie 😮😮😮
I watched it many times. It was a great movie.
Besides the Basic Instinct leg crossing scene this is 1 of my most paused movie parts 😂when the shark pops up i always pause it
Saw this movie aged 8 years old loved it ever since
Absolutley loved Jaws 2. During re watches couldn't help notice the obvious hydraulic and rubber mouth at 6:55
Jaws 1 and 2 and Deep Blue Sea are the greatest shark movies ever
Shallows are better than Deep blue Sea...12 days of terror also
Mukəmməl aktyorlardır,islərinin əsil ustasıdır
It is a very nice movie. We like it. We are watching it. I recommend everyone to watch it .
I love Jaws 2
They should have brought Sean (the little brother) too because he's just a little kid. Mike would have wanted that...
PS : The "kid" actor who played Sean died on 29 Jul 2023 due to glioblastoma
This was pretty good sequel!!! 6:53 intense as it gets!!!!

Thrilling!
True story, met Lorraine Gray riding in an elevator in Corpus Christi and she had dark sunglasses & a wide brim hat on trying to stay incognito at the time. There were a few others in the elevator at the time and I screamed out , Miss Brody, Miss Brody! I gave her away. Lorraine didn’t have much of a disguise. This happened in the summer of 1987.
How did things turn out after that? Was she mad that you did that?
Super scenery
