- The drama depicts the love story of Bai Feng Jiu and Dong Hua Di Jun, that spans 2000 years. Feng Jiu, the queen of Qing Qiu, is the only red nine-tailed fox in Qing Qiu and thus being pampered by everyone. She loves to cry and to throw tantrums but is also persistent and brave. One day, when Feng Jiu is in the mountains for cultivation, a beast attacks her. Luckily, the former Emperor of Heaven Dong Hua passes by at this moment and saves her. To pay the debt of gratitude, Feng Jiu follows Dong Hua who goes to fight the rebelling Demon Lord. Feng Jiu soon realizes that gratitude has turned into love, however, Dong Hua already forgot what love is. In order to keep her safe, Dong Hua sends Feng Jiu to the mortal realm, but the guardian he sends together with her unexpectedly dies. While trying to find the immortal fruit that can let her be reborn, Feng Jiu enters the temple of the ghost princess.

I love that about him. He said it before too during the scene where Fengjiu wakes up after falling into the Dream. He thinks she’s done so much for him and he’s just making up for how he’s treated her (even though I don’t think he’s done anything wrong for not knowing who she was). But I love how protective he is of her and thinks so highly of her.

He has been criticized by netizens for his acting in the past, however, I've watched his other dramas and films and find he is often very expressive with his eyes. I've definitely seen improvement but I wouldn't say he was a bad actor. Many who haven't read the books also criticized his acting in TMOPB but I thought he did an amazing job! DHD is a character who doesn't care about what goes on outside Taichen, is often bored and aloof. I think Vengo Gao captured that quite well!

She's losing her mind for example every time she listens the name "Ji Heng" and no matter how many times Dong Hua will repeat her "She is nothing for me, I want you and only you". And the most annoying thing for me is that she always acts as if it's Dong hua's fault, when in reality, it's even because of her that Ji Heng became his fiancée once, he never wanted it.
At the same time, Dong hua hides nothing. When he is jealous, and she asks him why you are behaving like this, he tells her openly - I am jealous of X next to you. It is clear.
