What I love about Resistance is the feeling of hopelessness, that the enemy controls everything and you're scurrying around the ruins of your own home trying not to die. The end of Resistance 3 shows hope being reignited, the enemy is gutted and on the run, victory is assured for humanity. The perfect thing they could do with a sequel is to rip that hope right out from under us, show us the Chimera had a secret weapon all along, or perhaps a 'Pure chimera' came through the wormhole, really bring back the terror of Resistance 2.
But than.......how would the series end? Because we all know if they do make 4th game it will be the last one, so we would have to finally defeat the chimera once and for all

I say this because I love the series, but THEY NEEDED TO MAKE AN EXPLOSIVE FINALE!!! The Chimera were a very original alien, and you would think making a portal to their home world would give us epic enemy to fight, but they didn't seem enhanced at all! Resistance 2 had more of a threat coming from the chimera. I wanted a large battle, or an alien force that felt threatening. But this felt like it was only a part of a longer story, while clearly there won't be any more! The Chimera have survived worse and I feel like they didn't put their hearts into the ending. I just hope this isn't the actual end...
True, but lore wise it would probaby be extremely hard to assemble a big strike force to fight another army of chimera that is even more threatening than what we have seen before, in this game the chimera already own everything and 90% of humans are wiped out so I guess they don't expect any big fighting from humans either and were probably overwelmed with the situation in the end. This game took a somewhat different direction from the bigger battles against the chimeras to more guerilla warfare like battles but I preferred the fighting on bigger scale especially the way it was in the second game.
Khyzan but... earth IS their home world in fact they had a war against a different alien race probably both side were crippled thus one left the planet while the other just went to hide in the structures more like the Necrons from warhammer 40k
I did the same damn thing over two days. First I watched the actual cutscenes and then I watched the cutscenes with the gameplay so it all looked like a streamlined game movie. I regret nothing.

The Malakov part of this game, his death and that was very sad, but im having a hard time not being mad at him for what hes done. im not saying he was a bad guy, or deserved death, but hes kinda why im turned off of this series. 1 was so fucking good. So good. unbelievably good. It was placed in a cool time with a neat twist on the tech and how things went and it all made "sense" so to speak. It wasnt so far into the realm of wierd or confusing that i was able to really get into it. Res 2 threw me a little. It starts with that badass conclusion, and throws you into the action with a goliath. These machines were instadeath in the previous game so its already confusing why you're fighting one on the ground as infantry. Plus, hale loses his ability to doomguy around 15 guns, and thats just no fun. Mechanics aside, malakov then takes you into srpa and experiments on you. He must have, since hale didnt need inhibitors until after he was infected with pure chimera. Step back. If you made the cloven, and for anyone that read about the cloven they were terrifying. They would roam around and scream in the night just out of arms reach of squads to drive them mad and slowly pick them off and eat them. They ate chimera and humans alike and each other, and seemed very fearsome though you never see them. After that why the hell would you continue to fuck with chimera genetics? and why would you take the two most advance fighters of the war and experiement on them? Creating deadalus NEVER should of happend. It just doesn't fit very well with the lore. in the first game, the US was powerful, they had money and guns which was similar to how it seemed in WW2 era. The english forces you worked with were sharp and somewhat racist and it was interesting and deep. it was a very deep experience, but at no point in the first game did i feel like any of the characters were blantantly idiots. Not the soldiers in the first push, not the leader at the bus station, not hale when he watched those men die, not shepard when we first met him or when he led a crazy strike on cheddergorge. At no point does it seem like we were stupid. It fealt overwhealming, like the humans were fighting a greater force that was able to bleed, but so strong and crazy and new that no one really knew what to do specificly, only to fight. The second game has one time where you do well, and thats re establishing the perimeter. Thats it. Otherwise you lose base after base, lose countless human civilian lives, repeatedly risk being turned completely chimera BECAUSE of malakov and even break from orders. Blake? i think was his name? was a good leader figuere but just didnt do enough. Not the mention the crushing end to 2. Res 3 rolls around and i was so disheartened about the first i waited. a cure is made from hales blood, but why would you weaken your only super soldier? lets assume we couldn't find a way to balance the virus and the proteins like Hale had in Europe, then it becomes a little more reasonable. Think about that though. Hale was infected over and over again and because his proteins he was immune. Not resistant, but immune. Malakov is what ruins that, so its not out of scope to think it possible to re create hale. Otherwise though the third game was fun. it was different and interesting, but it wasnt very deep. I think if they had gone into the crazy depth that they had with the story like the last two games it would of been much more respectable, and i definatly agree with the world that a final chapter is needed. The end to 3 was kind of vague, and its never explained what the towers are doing. You could guess its mass terraforming to unearth more towers more leaders blah blah but the wormhole is different. its not just climate change. The towers already changed the climate, there was definatly more to that and unlike the previous games this one doesn't really even touch on it. The third leaves it where two was, towers doing bs, and no developments were made. At the end it sounds like humans regain control of some of the world, but its so vague. tldr; Res 1 is the best by far, the series needs a great fourth to really send it off right.
i have a question, are you aware of the game Resistance Retribution? If you haven't yet, you should really check it out. It starts just a while after the fall of the london tower, and you plays an a british soldier named James Grayson, but you know what makes that so good? The story telling and grayson's character overall. Hale had a rather empty character compared to Grayson except for the whole turning into chimera thing, but other then that Hale was pretty much the do or die kind of character. Tough grayson is kinda the same with his additude againts the chimera, he still has lots of character development troughout the game. Its pretty amazing since most people even start to symphatise with grayson despite his additude and history overall. (he used to be a gang member before the fall of london)
Cheseit Actually they do explain what the towers were doing. They were making the world cold enough for the ORIGINAL chimera to invade earth. The Original chimera weren't made of humans and are likely far more dangerous.
@@Defunct21969 Nah Nathan Hale will always be the the best and most iconic Resistance protagonist, not just cause he started it all and was there for a majority of the series but cause his character was the most interestin', you got to see him talk more overtime, his character changes and Parker tells you about his origins durin' narration so you know his motivations and past, he was the most badass too, wish they kept him for the final game, it would of been better and his character would of grown more deep.
The only reason i didn't like this game as much as the others is it just felt kinda rushed through the campaign. Now the campaign was beautiful i am not saying they did a bad job its just they went through the stereotypical post apocalyptic scenario. It is just like i have seen this hundreds of times before. Now i do like how they focused much more though on the humanity of Joe unlike how the past two were Hale was just kind of a murder robot but still it is just jumping from 1 situation to another rapidly and a fairly non climatic ending with you just blowing somethings up, getting a pistol that doesn't need to be reloaded and just kill some goons and 1 bigger goon. Now i will say this 1 more time it was a very fun game, i enjoyed it. The only thing that "ruined" it for me was just how it did feel rushed.

The only thing is that especially when you just watch the cutscenes the game just only seems to last on a single area for a second before switching and since they wanted to fill this game in with as much areas as possible it just gives me the feeling of being rushed through a story.

This new guy actually has humanity! It's like a total betrayal of the franchise values. ;-P
Too PlayStation, this was the greatest video game trilogy on the PS3. Please bring it back as a retro Trilogy to the PlayStation 5 console, please don’t let this old but gold game be forgotten. Bring back Resistance fall of man and Resistance 2 and Resistance 3 to the PS5 platform in both digital formats and disc formats in the future.
Never played the trilogy, never even owned a Playstation so I couldn't, but still after all this I feel screwed that we don't get an aftermath of some sort.

it started good but then went too cheesy. The towers argument was... ok... but then bringing everything to America, and somehow the explosion at the end of R2 set up the tower in freaking NYC, Daedalus was the mastermind after he was created, but before? who controls Chimeras? are there a queen? every hive must have one
Honestly what I really liked about this game was that it was Humanity accepting they lost the war and just trying to survive. Joseph meets many different people who are reacting differently. Hiding underground and trying to ignore the threat. The one's who arm to the teeth and have military grade weaponry. Survivors becoming very religious in dark times. The cruelty when criminals live in a world without rules. All of this sets it apart from the other two where it was Humanities best effort to fight back. I really wish they made another installment to the series. I mean there's South America, Africa, and Europe. The territories of the British Empire would be a pretty interesting idea. Imagine Africa covered in snow.
Loved the original game - didn’t realise the sequels were a thing for a long time and when I got them my copy’s of 2&3 were slightly damaged so I couldn’t play them for long - also never saw the intro sequence for 3 - kind of assumed we were still playing as Hale. And one more thing, what ever happened to the chick from the first game? 😍who else saw the ratchet and clank toy jack was playing with? 2 childhood games I love clash
poor russians literally, they were all poverty stricken at the time so they had little to no *resistance* at the time if only if the russians had industrialised 80 years more.
I've been watching all the three of these, and they suffer from the same problem all big budget shooters seem to. They go straight for the "save the world!" power fantasy right out of the gate, and always end with you smashing the enemy. Then, in the sequel, they have to make it ridiculous to top that, and find some contrived way to undo your victory from the first game. And the third game is almost always some variant of the post-apocalyptic "we actually lost" scenario! The doomsday-machine-of-the-day macguffin is really lazy writing. There are so many more interesting stories you could tell with this setting, that don't have to involve saving the world a different way every game..
Why the hale did the girl in resistance one somehow find hales daughter and she is like never mentioned again. keep in mind im early into resistance 3 here.
Ballin Like Stalin While Resistance 3 isn't as definitively conclusive a finale as Gears of War 3 or Halo 3, the ending is ambiguously hopeful enough to serve as a finale its developers and creators that their current plans are for it to be the last game By the end of the game, the true nature of the Chimera is left unrevealed, the hinted-at True Chimera are not encountered, and the Cloven fail to play any role in the main plot despite the significant build-up they receive throughout the series. Burning Skies does not answer these questions I hope they’re will make resistance 4 to answer those chimera origins

You could play it... It feels rush cause it is to lower the duration of time by just shooting things

it started good but then went too cheesy. The towers argument was... ok... but then bringing everything to America, and somehow the explosion at the end of R2 set up the tower in freaking NYC, Daedalus was the mastermind after he was created, but before? who controls Chimeras? are there a queen? every hive must have one

Honestly what I really liked about this game was that it was Humanity accepting they lost the war and just trying to survive. Joseph meets many different people who are reacting differently. Hiding underground and trying to ignore the threat. The one's who arm to the teeth and have military grade weaponry. Survivors becoming very religious in dark times. The cruelty when criminals live in a world without rules. All of this sets it apart from the other two where it was Humanities best effort to fight back. I really wish they made another installment to the series. I mean there's South America, Africa, and Europe. The territories of the British Empire would be a pretty interesting idea. Imagine Africa covered in snow.
Loved the original game - didn’t realise the sequels were a thing for a long time and when I got them my copy’s of 2&3 were slightly damaged so I couldn’t play them for long - also never saw the intro sequence for 3 - kind of assumed we were still playing as Hale.

I've been watching all the three of these, and they suffer from the same problem all big budget shooters seem to. They go straight for the "save the world!" power fantasy right out of the gate, and always end with you smashing the enemy. Then, in the sequel, they have to make it ridiculous to top that, and find some contrived way to undo your victory from the first game. And the third game is almost always some variant of the post-apocalyptic "we actually lost" scenario! The doomsday-machine-of-the-day macguffin is really lazy writing. There are so many more interesting stories you could tell with this setting, that don't have to involve saving the world a different way every game..

Burning Skies does not answer these questions I hope they’re will make resistance 4 to answer those chimera origins
