Could just be the camera, but looking closely at 5:52, it appears that the first baseman lifts his foot off the bag before the catch and doesn't put it back on until the runner returned. I think the runner was safe, though not to discredit Puig but rather the first baseman.
Clip #1, good throw but hit your cut off man because the likely chance your throw is late, now you've got a man in scoring position again. Now I am going to get hate from incompetent Dodgers fans but as you can see, he short hopped home plate, didn't make the throw all the way so it is very likely he will hit home that accurately less than 50% of the time. 2nd clip, good throw again. But...he overthrew 3rd base and the ball could've easily went down the left field line and now you've got a run crossing home and another guy most likely on 3rd still with 0 outs. 3rd clip, great play by Puig tough running throw and showing awareness as to where to throw the ball. 4th clip, just a lazy, stupid play that Puig is known for and he got lucky. 5th clip, great throw. 6th clip, good throw but Montero was safe. 7th clip, good throw but stupid play. You can see the SS trying to cut the ball off from getting to 3rd as to keep the runner on 1st. Again, likely chance that throw is late, you've got 2 men ISP instead of 1. Bonehead play. 8th clip, atrocious read of the ball, looking like a little league-er out there. Then makes a lazy one-handed catch and got a slow base runner "out" although he was actually safe, at first. If you catch that ball with 2 hands, your exchange is faster and it wouldn't have been so close at first. He also overthrew first base and is lucky A-Gon is tall enough to stretch and get that ball. 9th clip, once again bonehead play of throwing to 3rd to barely get a slow runner out. He makes those throws against a Trout or a Gordon or even a moderately fast base runner like a David Wright, etc. those "highlights" are going to cost the Dodgers baseball games like it already has. Once again the middle infielder attempts to cut it off to keep the runner at first. His teammates have expressed how frustrated they are with his lack of baseball situational knowledge.
